Chapter My Dady BR 101
Back to My Worst Birthday and Starting Anew
Chapter 101 Not About You
"If you don't speak up, I'll fire you myself!"
The maid quivered with fear, quickly blurting out the details, "It's right here..."
She took a small box from the drawer under Leah's nightstand and handed it over to Milo.
"Mr. Milo, Ms. Leah has kept everything in this box."
Milo took the box with a neutral expression and unlocked it with a small snap.
Inside, there was a collection of trinkets, items that appeared to belong to a much younger girl. 0,56%2

Leather bracelets, necklaces, amulets, little cards, and tiny dolls-nothing of any significant brand or value. All were simple, plain things, but the box was filled to the brim.
Milo stood motionless, a whirlwind of complicated emotions swirling inside him.
He stared at the items, muttering under his breath, "These ... belong to Charmaine?"
The maid hesitated, unsure how to answer. She wouldn't dare to make assumptions!
Milo, usually easygoing with the staff, now appeared as cold and stern as ever. His tone left no room for argument, "Tell me."
The maid flinched, trembling. "I can't say for sure, but when Ms. Leah brought them back, they definitely looked like old things, not new...
With a sharp motion, Milo slammed the box shut, spinning on his heel and walking away.
The maid, panic in her voice, rushed after him. "Mr. Milo? Where are you taking Ms. Leah's things?" "I'm returning them to their owner."
Without another word, he paused by the stairs and glanced back. "If Leah asks, tell her the truth."
As he disappeared from view, the maid felt a lump rise in her throat, her eyes welling with tears.
The entire top floor of the revolving restaurant had been reserved. Beneath the large windows, which
reflected the neon city lights, a man and a woman sat across from each other.
"Thank you, Mr. Emyr," Veronica said, her face flushed with a shy smile, dressed in a sparkling gold gown as she gazed at the man before her-handsome, confident, and utterly charming.
"Because of you, I'm able to enjoy such a delicious meal."
"If you like it, then eat as much as you want."
Emyr gestured to the waiter, signaling him to pass the untouched plate in front of him to Veronica. "Aren't you going to eat, Mr. Emyr?"

She pushed the plate with the perfectly sliced steak toward him. "Mr. Emyr, try it. It's really good." Emyr's gaze, cold as ever, shifted from the steak to her face.

His lips parted, rejecting her offer with a simple, "I'm not hungry."
Veronica's smile faltered, the bluntness of his refusal freezing her expression.
Slowly, she pulled her hand back and took a bite of the steak herself.
The silence between them grew heavy, almost unbearable.
After what seemed like an eternity, Veronica sniffled, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Emyr. If I'd known you didn't like it, I wouldn't have bothered you."
Emyr frowned. He had little patience for women who cried, especially when they hadn't shed a single tear during all the hardships on the island.
Has losing her memory really changed her so much?
He couldn't say for sure. All he knew was he had to control his annoyance.
"It's not about you. Just eat."
Veronica sniffled again, speaking softly, "Mr. Emyr, you don't need to comfort me. I can tell you didn't want anyone to see us together. That's why you rented the entire restaurant...

Her thoughts drifted back to the previous night. She had hoped Emyr would introduce her to everyone at
the reception, but instead, Charmaine had been the one receiving all the attention!
Even when they left, Emyr hadn't spared her a second glance!
It wasn't what she had imagined at all!
The talk around the table after they left had been all about Emyr and his maid, Charmaine. Veronica felt humiliated, like a fool.
Hearing her words, Emyr's piercing gaze locked onto her. "You want to force some kind of relationship between us?"
Veronica blushed, stumbling over her words, "I-I ..,
Emyr studied her, seeing through her intentions. "What you're hoping for-there's no chance it will happen."
Veronica's face drained of color.
Emyr added, "The afternoon check-up went fine. You've suffered a head injury, and it may have caused some memory loss. With time, the memories will come back. When they do, you'll understand why it's best we don't get too involved."
