My Muted Mate

Chapter 6

After I walked out of Mrs. Banks office, the new kids were gone. I walked out of the office and started walking to my locker.

I got to my locker and got my math book for Mr. Reeds class and walked in. I started walking to my seat in the class but the students started throwing paper at me.

I got to my seat and sat down. I took out my IPod, that I bought, and put in my earbuds. The song ‘the lonely’ by Christina Perri came on. I started drawing on my notebook.

2am; where do I begin,

Crying off my face again

The silent sound of loneliness

Wants to follow me to bed.

The song sang. The door to the class room opened and everyone but me looked up. The scent of my ‘Mate’ hit me and I started panicking.

‘MATE!’ My wolf, Brooklyn, howled in joy. Great, she said the ‘m’ word. ‘GO TO MATE!’ She said again.

‘No! You know we can’t! All he will do is reject us,’ I said to her. She let out a whimper. I heard the teacher talking and then laughing. I then heard shuffling and then someone sitting next to me. My wolf became excited. Great, now my mate is sitting by me.

The teacher continued to teach and I continued to draw, since I finished everything we were going to do in the year early.
