With Dr. Jensen's help and the aid of the best medicine around, Trent's wounds
healed beautifully, and every day, just on the verge of them healing, Liam would
send someone to peel them wide open again with a blunt dagger!
Wails of agony echoed through the mansion day after day.
The excruciating pain made Trent want to curl up and die, but he was now
paralyzed in all four limbs and had no way of moving at all. He could power
through the pain initially, but as the days went by, he finally could not stand it
anymore and pleaded for mercy. “I'm sorry... I know what I've done... I will never
do it again... Please let me go... I'll give you money in exchange for letting me
go... Please...”
However, everyone ignored him. Dr. Jensen continued to tend to him every day,
and his wounds continued to be peeled open again and again. Calum even saw
to the task himself sometimes and subconsciously stuck the dagger in even
deeper at the thought of Jovie not being able to walk again someday.
“Ahhhh-" Trent was finally beginning to go insane from the pain. His wails grew
weaker and weaker with each day that passed. He never once imagined that he
would be subject to such torture in a city where his family reigned!
“Just kill me already! Kill me! I'd rather die... I can’t handle this anymore...” Trent
pleaded, staring at Calum. Death was an even more attractive option than being
tormented like this.
“Oh no, no, no. What Jovie suffered was far more painful than what you're going
through now. I already told you I'd make you feel her pain a thousand times over!
I'm going to keep you alive with my every
power and make you suffer this pain!” Liam sneered.

All of a sudden, Joseph stormed into the room. He glanced at the half- dead
Trent lying on the ground and jeered, then turned to Liam and said, “Sir, Mrs.
Cole is running a fever, and she’s not making any sense!”
Alook of concern crossed Liam's face. He and Dr. Jensen made their
way to Celena’s room.
“Don't be afraid, Jovie... Mommy's here... Mommy's going to protect you...
Liam... I'll go beg Grandpa for help... He's going to save you...” Celena was
muttering when Liam and Dr. Jensen arrived. She was as pale as a ghost, and
her face was drenched in sweat.
Tears brimmed in Liam's eyes. He could not believe that even at a time like this,
all Celena thought about was him and Jovie!
“Get away from me... Get away...” All of a sudden, she began to windmill her
arms in front of her as though fighting off an invisible
monster.
Liam was worried she would hurt herself, so he stepped forward and grabbed
hold of her arms, then reassured her, “Don't be scared, Celena. I'm here!”
Celena finally calmed down at the sound of his voice, and her expression relaxed
as well. “Liam...”
At the same time, Dr. Jensen stepped forward and put in another IV, then
changed the dressing on Celena’s forehead. By the time he was done, a half
hour had passed.
Liam sat down by her side and asked, “Dr. Jensen, is the wound on her forehead
going to leave a scar?”
