Chapter 13
Newark Liberty International airport....
At the airport, the slender figure of Amelia Pearls, wearing a blue hoodie and a black jean, was standing beside a car. Her blank eyes were fixated at the gate of the airport. And every now and then, she would always check her phone.
After a while, she reverted her gaze from the gate and heaved a sigh. Then she quickly skimmed through the surroundings and averted her gaze back to the gate.
Just then, she sighted a familiar figure, rolling two luggages, and walking towards her. When the person got to where she was standing, she stopped rolling the luggages and pushed them to Amelia's side. "These are the luggages. I believe everything you might need are inside"
Amelia looked at her for a moment, " thank you, nurse." She really appreciated all that this nurse has been doing for her. In this time and age, there is rarely anyone who is willing to help, for nothing. It was obvious that the nurse was not doing this because of who she, Amelia, was. Because the nurse must have already known that she was no longer Mrs Greg, nor does it seem like she was even the young Miss of the Pearls
family.
The nurse smiled," it's okay"
Amelia felt her heart warm and filled with so much gratitude. At this point, a stranger, a nurse she met at the hospital, was the only one who would be present at this moment, when she would be leaving.
Amelia moved forward and wrapped her arms around the nurse." Thank you so much, nurse. You are an angel. I can never thank you enough, ``she whispered.
"It's fine. I could have done it for anyone" She answered tenderly, as she patted Amelia's back.
Amelia broke the hug and moved backwards. "How can I ever pay you back?" She really felt like she was indebted to this nurse. She wouldn't have been able to execute her plans of leaving without this nurse. This nurse has been her support since she was in the hospital.
" Do you really want to pay me? The pay isn't that expensive" The nurse said, mysteriously.
She frowned slightly. Did this nurse she had thought was helping her, want to demand for money? Amelia couldn't believe that she had really thought a stranger would just help her for nothing. Guess, she was wrong about this nurse.
Anyways, she still asked, "I want to pay if you let me." If the nurse wants money, she would as well give her the money she wants.
"I want you to go there, and start your life afresh. Forgive yourself and the people who hurt you, and build yourself, while also giving yourself time to heal" The nurse said, reaching out to hold her hand. On hearing the payment, her heart felt at ease. After guessing what she might want for her payment, her heart sank, and her mood dampened instantly.
But now, it wasn't even close to what she had expected. She felt ashamed of herself, for even thinking that.
She smiled with hidden guilt, and nodded.
"And one more thing" She continued, " to pay me fully, I want you to help people who are in need"
"1
Surely, I will." Amelia replied. If this is the payment, she would gladly pay in full. Though it wouldn't be a piece of cake to do all she said, she would surely do it.
At this point, a loud voice announced through a speaker. Informing the people, who were yet to board the plane, which would be taking off soon.
The nurse chuckled. "Guess this is it. Goodbye, Amelia. We shall see again"
This is it. She was actually going to leave this city today. She was reluctant, but she really didn't have many options.
"Thank you so much, nurse" She said and held the handles of the luggages to roll them. She slowly walked away, rolling the luggages along.
But then, she abruptly stopped and ran back to the nurse, and hugged her tightly. This nurse is the only person present here, at this point in time. She broke the hug, bowed slightly, and slowly went back to her luggages.
This day was the day she left New JC. This city was the city of her birth and she had hoped she would stay here and build her family here as well. But as they say, fate can be unavoidable.
"Isn't it obvious child, the old men of this family won't let you two get married in peace, Mr. Robert and Mr. Gabriel are men of principle, they won't allow this marriage, not without a fight?" Laura Pearls said looking spaced out.
"I do not care mother, I do not give two sh*ts if they wish to let this marriage happen or not for I know, Ethan loves me, and is wrapped around my little fingers, I could make him do my bidding mother" Madison said an evil smirk on her face, true she had power over Ethan, for he was blinded by lust, definitely not love, but this power, such control, would it last for long?....
A figure of a petite lady, eyes
roaming below her as she stared at the white clouds through the small airplane window, thinking about everything that had happened in the past few days, she signed heavily relaxing In her chair, she wondered if maybe, just maybe, the slightest bit of her thought went through Ethan's mind, she wondered if he misses her, if he still loves her, if their memories together still flashed through his mind.
But she already knew the answer to all her wonders, all her thoughts.
Her subconscious knew the answer.
And her heart lanced at the bitter truth that refused to be hidden.
Her thoughts wandered to her encounter with Scarlet Marks and the truth that came with it.
She wondered how he was doing, if
he was happy, if he had moved on, it
has been a long time ago they parted and she regretted it, leaving without a goodbye, without seeing him smile once more, those charming dimples that always brought a smile to her face on sight, the way he looked at her lovingly, with those light ocean eyes, the way he cared for her, she missed it, she missed him, she felt ashamed of herself, she knew the guilt of the pain she had caused him would forever live in her heart, For she knew that she wouldn't be able to face him, not in this life. Content
It seemed as though all the thorns in her rose were out to prick her, for her life was slowly turning into a horrific Nightmare, one she wished she could get out of, but it wasn't that easy.
As she closed her eyes, she wished that as she would arrive in a new environment, life would bring nothing but roses and lilies to her table, for her to start a new life and create new memories.
In a grand duplex, a storm was brewing, one that could wipe and destroy everything that came through its part, like a tsunami, a tornado it brewed rising fueled by emotion, anger.
The feeling of hurt, anger, frustration and worry washed over him as he stared at the television which hung on the wall unaware of what was to happen to it.
"Ahhhhh!!!" He yelled loudly in frustration and anger the greatest emotion that he felt washed over him, he threw the remote hard at the television, and it smashed the television's once smooth screen, a lone tear dropped from his left eye, rolling to his lips, its salty taste teasing his taste buds.
A whimper left his lips as he fell on the sofa looking helpless, he blamed himself for letting her go, he wished. he had gone to bring her when he found out where she was, the pain he felt was choking him, his lungs constricted, he wheezed, the media choked him, he knew it was true, and this pained him, she had been dumped, left with nothing, no one to stand by her, he wondered how she was coping with everything, he thought she would be happy but boy was he wrong.
Streams of tears flowed down his eyes, like a tap, they rushed out without control, he felt pain pierce his heart deep, he could feel her pain, he wondered what those bastards must have done to her, how helpless she would be, how alone she would be feeling, at that moment he wished he would appear wherever she was and give her a tight hug, a loving hug, and never to leave her side.
He abruptly stood up and pulled the television off its hinges, it fell to the ground and shattered, its glass shattered into multiple tiny pieces, relating to how his heart felt at the moment. For his heart bleed, external bleeding.
