My Husband Wants Me Dead novel (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 886

The challenging aspect was Bradley's prominent status. Would people begin searching for him once he went missing?
After contemplation, Esther still felt a lack of necessary ruthlessness. She'd confine Bradley to a dark place if she could be
ruthless, ensuring he lost his freedom forever.
With this extreme thought, Esther slowly opened her eyes and inwardly advised herself, 'Don't rush or panic. Take it slow.'
While Logan and Esther idled in the hospital room, Logan's parents arrived once again.
"Dad, Mom, what brings you here?"
Tamara glared at Logan, speaking slightly coldly, "We've come to deliver your invitations."
Esther and Logan were immensely surprised by the couple.
Tamara pulled out two gold-embossed invitations from her limited edition handbag and handed them to Esther and Logan.
On the cover of these embossed invitations was a large heart shape.
Logan asked, "Mom, who's getting married?"
Tamara urged, "Open it, and you'll see."
Logan, puzzled, opened the invitation. As he read its contents, he looked speechless.
Meanwhile, Esther felt utterly perplexed seeing Logan's expression. When she read the invitation, her face turned completely
red.
An engagement? Her and Logan's engagement party?
But... she and Logan were just pretending to be engaged.
"Mom, Dad, I don't think it's advisable due to Esther's current health..."
Tamara's previous gentleness was gone as she asserted her authority. "Your advice isn't needed. We're aware of Esther's health
condition. So, don't worry about anything else. You two only need to attend the engagement party for two hours on that day."

Logan massaged his temples, feeling a headache. He had no idea his parents could be this efficient. They had already arranged
the engagement party so soon after he and Esther returned to the country.
"Mom, Dad, I understand your intention, but Esther's health—"
Tamara swatted Logan's shoulder. "Esther doesn't have parents backing her. From now on, she's our daughter. Stop making
excuses here—everything's arranged. Even if you have to undergo surgery that day, you'd better show up at the engagement."
Logan was at a loff for words.
Paul, understanding his son well, softened his tone. "Logan, Esther is your grandaunt's apprentice and is skilled in medicine.
You've struck gold. Learn to cherish her."
Logan was sure he had dug himself into this hole. If he could turn back time, he'd never pretend to be engaged to Esther.
"Mr. and Mrs. Foster, my health isn't good. How about we wait until after my surgery to proceed with the engagement?" Esther
intervened for Logan with slightly reddened eyes, "If I get engaged to Logan now and something happens to me later, it might
affect Logan's future marriage."
"Esther, Aunt Agatha has told us about your condition. A kidney transplant isn't too complicated a surgery."
Tamara refused to give Esther any room to back out. She was assertive.
"Let's have the engagement first, then we'll have the wedding after your surgery. This time is a bit rushed, and the arrangements
are a bit simple. We want to reassure you.
"There's nothing to be scared of with an illness. We'll take good care of you. With Logan and us by your side, you can relax..."
Logan pulled Tamara and Paul out of the hospital room.
"Mom, Dad, why did you suddenly..."
Could Tamara admit that she had thought Logan had a different sexual orientation before? Of course not!
Now that Logan had a fiancee, they needed to finalize things quickly. What if Logan changed his mind?
