My Husband Wants Me Dead novel (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 864

“Why? Did you think the first case you would handle would be related to your father’s?” Logan asked.
Esther remained silent. She had agreed to participate in this assessment with the personal goal of capturing the enemy who had
killed her father.
“Don’t be hasty. Impatience doesn’t solve anything. Rushing often leads to failure,” Logan stated.
“So, how do I cooperate with you?” Esther asked.
Logan smiled. “You might have to play the role of my fiancee. My fiancee has a severe kidney disease and needs a transplant.”
Esther instantly understood. “I can do that.”
Logan checked the time on his wristwatch and said, “Let’s depart back to the country now.”
“Now?” Esther asked.
Logan asked, “Do you have something else to attend to?”
“I need to return the car I drove out,” she replied.
Even though the Sandersons had numerous luxury cars akin to an auto show, she had driven the car there and couldn’t possibly
not return it.
Logan said, “I’ll arrange for someone to return the car to the Sandersons.”
With that settled, Esther had no more concerns. All her documents were still in Sweet Town, so she visited the town before
returning to the country with Logan.
Esther didn’t keep any secrets from Agatha, her mentor. Her outstanding performance in this assessment, winning first place,
was naturally something worth sharing. She couldn’t wait to share the good news with Agatha.
Logan drove Esther back to the town, where Agatha had already packed Esther’s belongings.
“Grandma Agatha!” Esther rushed over and hugged Agatha tightly.
Every time Agatha saw Esther like that, she couldn’t help but think that if the past Esther hadn’t fallen for Bradley, her life might
have been as dazzling as it was now.

“Congratulate me!”
Agatha was happy as she said, “Esther, congratulations.”
Esther was aware that she needed to keep the details of her work confidential, so she maintained silence about the specifics.
It was Logan who approached Agatha and said, “Grandaunt Agatha, I have a case that needs your assistance.”
Upon hearing Logan’s address to Agatha, Esther exclaimed, “Do you two know each other?”
“Logan’s my eldest brother’s grandson.”
Although Esther was Agatha’s mentee, she was unfamiliar with the Fosters. Therefore, she was astonished when she heard
Logan address Agatha as “Grandaunt Agatha”.
“Then... is my seniority higher than Logan’s?” she asked.
Logan helplessly smiled. “You’re Grandaunt Agatha’s mentee, so technically, I should call you Ms. Quill.”
When Esther saw Logan’s cold smile, she instantly changed her address with a friendly tone, “Logan... you’re my senior.”
Unknown to Esther, Agatha, Gabriel, and Oliver had already made plans for her future. Of course, they didn’t dictate everything
but provided a direction, letting Esther make her life choices.
Agatha was ready to work with Logan, asking since he needed assistance, “Logan, how do you need me to cooperate with your
case?”
As soon as the case was mentioned, Logan and Esther became serious and focused.
“I need you to publicly announce that Esther has a severe kidney disease and requires a kidney transplant,” he said.
