Chapter 1502 She Is Not Dead
Amanda had just picked up another chicken wing from the plate and was nibbling on it when she noticed her brother rubbing his
eyes. She leaned over and asked, “Lucian, what's wrong?”
“It's nothing. My eyes are just a bit itchy,” said Lucian as he applied a warm towel to his eyes.
Ever since Lucian accidentally fell down the stairs due to the itch in his eyes, his eyes would inexplicably itch from time to time,
only to feel better after a while.
Genevieve took him to the ophthalmologist for a thorough examination, and there were no symptoms of bacterial infection.
Upon hearing this, Amanda picked up the serving bowl and spooned a generous amount of shredded carrots and spinach into
his bowl. “Carrots are good for your eyes, Lucian. You should eat more.”
Lucian stared at the portion of shredded carrots in his bowl, his face gradually becoming impassive.
He absolutely detested eating carrots.
Everyone was enjoying their meal when Armand's phone rang. After answering the call, his expression changed. He then told
everyone that he had some matters to attend to.
Genevieve followed him to the entrance, took off his coat for him, and asked, “Mando, what's wrong?”
“The reinforcements Sebatian called for have arrived in Xedells. Right now, the Pann family is in chaos, and it's even affecting
the nearby residents,” Armand said in a low voice.
Xedells had long prohibited the private possession of firearms and had consistently been cracking down on crime. If the internal
strife within the Pann family escalated, it was going to be troublesome if the government chose to step in.
The Pann family served as the dedicated bodyguard team for the Hompton family. Armand did not want Nigel to be implicated
and lose his position.
Genevieve cautioned, “Be careful, Mando.”
After celebrating Asel's birthday and eating the cake, it was already eleven o'clock.
Genevieve brought the two little ones home.
On the way back, Lucian suddenly asked Genevieve, “Mommy, did Daddy leave because he received a call from Mr. Jerry?”
“Yes, your dad has gone to Xedells.” Given that Lucian had always been a smart boy, Genevieve didn't see the need to hide it
from her son.
“Why is that?” asked Amanda out of curiosity.
Genevieve gently patted her little head and explained simply, “Because Mr. Jerry's family doesn't like his girlfriend, who is Ms.
Charlotte. Mr. Jerry had a fight with his family.”
Lucian pursed his lips and said, “That time when Daddy, Cooper, and Uncle Tim were cooking in the kitchen, I heard them say
that Ms. Charlotte had passed away. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, the drawing room is quite close to the kitchen, and I happen to
have a good ear.”
Amanda's eyes widened again. “Is Ms. Charlotte really dead?”
The two children were talking back and forth, leaving Genevieve at a loss for words. “Yes, that's right. Mr. Jerry had a big fight
with his family. Your dad was worried something might happen, so he went over to help.”
Lucian asked, “What if Ms. Charlotte isn't dead?”
Genevieve and Cooper were both taken aback, but it was Cooper, who was driving, that reacted quickly. He asked Lucian, “Luc,
why do you think Ms. Charlotte is still alive?”
“Because of this.” Lucian opened the tablet and handed it to Genevieve.
Ever since the incident with Harry, Armand had been particularly concerned about the safety of the two little ones.
Coincidentally, Forlisle Medical had invested a significant amount of research and development funds into one of his medical
laboratories. They had developed a life sign monitor. With current technology, this monitor could be made as small as a fingernail
and could be implanted in the arm.
If the body is on the brink of death, the monitoring system was programmed to send out a warning to alert the emergency contact
set by the individual.
If there were no signs of life in the body, the little green dot on the system was set to turn gray.
Genevieve looked at the green dot on the monitoring system. Surprised, she asked Lucian, “How did you know she was wearing
a vital sign monitor?”
“Because of me!” Amanda immediately raised her hand to answer, “That day, Lucian and I went to the hospital to get this. We
happened to run into Ms. Charlotte. Ms. Charlotte was afraid I would cry, so she stayed with me while I got the injection.”
Upon learning that Charlotte was not dead, Genevieve immediately called Armand to inform him about these matters.
After hanging up the phone, Genevieve held Lucian's face and gave him a hearty kiss. “You truly are my son! You're so smart!
Otherwise, a great battle would have broken out in Xedells.”
“Mommy, what about me?” asked Amanda.
“You're also great, Mandy.” Genevieve hugged her precious daughter and gave her a kiss. “Would you like me to make you a red
velvet cake tomorrow?”
Amanda quickly waved her hands in fear, stammering, “No, no, no!” This amused Genevieve to the point of laughter.
