Chapter WE WON
Adetutu coughs out blood again as she feels pain in her heart then she asks Detective John "why Fawrus?", but Detective gives no response.
As Detective John's hand was still holding the knife, Detective John saw Adetutu was dying and her power didn't activate itself to save her then said "Oh no, this is bad. It didn't work".
"Why did choose Fawrus over us?" Adetutu (in pain) asked Detective John again.
Detective John let go of the knife and thought for some seconds of an answer to give to Adetutu thinking maybe it could trigger her anger that would activate her power then he said (with a smile) to Adetutu "What happened at the station was just something we stage so I can penetrate you guys. I did it because Fawrus promise me an eternity and why won't I accept that?".
Upon hearing Fawrus made a deal with John, Adetutu became angry and she screamed in anger then her power was awakened. The color of Adetutu's eyes became golden and she hit Detective John away with the force of her power, and John fell to the ground in pain.
Detective John managed to raise half of his body in pain and saw Adetutu surrounded by the force of her power. John smiled and said to himself "it worked. I did it. It worked uncle", then he died.
The knife in Adetutu's chest shattered and her wound closed up then she placed her two hands on Adewale's chest and began to pass the force the force her power into Adewale's heart trying to activate Adewale's heart.
Adetutu continues passing her power to Adewale but Adewale remains unconscious and dead. Adetutu's power began to die down slowly and still, Adetutu hasn't been able to wake Adewale up. Seeing her power dying down slowly made Adetutu sad and she kept on trying so hard to wake Adewale up with her power before it completely died but still couldn't. Adetutu's power eventually dies down and she becomes sad with watery eyes because Adewale remains unconscious and dead.
As tears fell from Adetutu's eyes, Adetutu said "no, no, A. You can't do this. You can't die. Please wake up, A., I want to see you now not in the memory land or another lifetime. Please A, don't die", and began to cry.
As Adetutu cried, she placed her head on Adewale's belly and began to hit Adewale's chest angrily and sad.
Adewale suddenly gasped silently as he became conscious, and felt something hitting his chest, then he opened his eyes and saw that Adetutu was the one hitting his chest, and crying at the same time. Adewale said (in slight pain) to Adetutu "are you trying to kill me again?".
Adetutu heard Adewale's voice and she stopped crying and stopped hitting Adewale's chest to confirm if it was his voice she heard, then Adetutu raised her head and saw Adewale alive. Adetutu became happy and hugged Adewale immediately without saying anyone word to him. Adetutu separated from Adewale and then kissed him.
Adewale and Adetutu stood up, and Adewale looked around to see if Fawmus survived but he didn't see him so he asked Adetutu about Fawmus. Adetutu said to Adewale "Fawmus didn't survive, he faded away just like Fawrus".
Adewale became unhappy upon hearing Fawmus died because he wished for Fawmus to survive.
Adewale and Adetutu waited till dawn for the Detective to return from the dead and while they waited, they spent their time talking and kissing. Detective John's spirit returned to his body and he opened his eyes to see Adewale and Adetutu standing in front of him then raised half of his body smiling.
Detective John was scared upon seeing Adetutu first because he thought she would see him as a subordinate of Fawrus and might kill him but Adetutu smiled at him and said to him "thank you for trying to kill me. If not I would not have been able to access my power. Nice plan".
Adewale was shocked to hear John tried to kill Adetutu and said to John "you tried to kill her?".
"I did not mean to kill her, I only did that so she can be able to access her power and the name of Fawrus helped with a lie" said Detective John to Adewale.
"Thank you once again" said Adetutu to John.
Adewale helped John up and hugged John thanking him. Adetutu also hugged John thanking him.
Detective John and Adewale carry Uncle James's body while Adetutu takes the head (the blood has stopped )then they all go to the car and put Uncle James's body and head inside the boot. Adetutu returned inside the building to carry Anmer and she came outside back.
Adetutu and Adewale said goodbye to Detective John and left the building with the car while Detective John stayed behind waiting for the cop to patrol the area. A policeman did patrol the area and saw John then he took the Detective along with him.
MORNING
The police were happy to see Detective John alive and healthy. The police question him about his being missing and he cooks up some lies for them and tells them that he has killed Fawrus and avenged the dead police officers. The police asked John for Fawrus's body but John lied that he had thrown it into the sea. After questioning John they allowed John to return home to see his sister.
Adewale and Adetutu return to their former house where they once lived with their dead parents. Adewale and Adetutu entered the house and placed uncle James's body on the floor in the sitting room and his head beside him, then they both left to take a shower in their rooms in a happy mood that they defeated Fawrus.
LATER IN THE DAY
Detective John paid a visit to the Martins’ home and Adewale and Adetutu were glad to see him in their home. Adewale and Adetutu entertained John and thanked him for his support in defeating Fawrus. Detective John asked for Uncle James's body then Adewale and Adetutu took him to a room where Uncle James's body was placed on the floor and his head was beside the body.
Detective John took a closer look at Uncle James's body and saw it was still fresh and it looks like that of a living human. Detective John said to Adewale and Adetutu "I think uncle's soul has returned to his body seeing his body is still fresh without it being preserved".
"Okay, but how do we fix his head back?" asked Adewale, then Detective John suggested that they should place Uncle James' head back to his neck and they did.
To their greatest surprise, Uncle James's neck grows new tissues and fixed back with the head, then Uncle James returns to the land of the living, and they were happy.
Uncle James opened his eyes and was surprised to see Adewale, Adetutu, and John standing, then Uncle James sat up looking at them weirdly. Adewale said to uncle James "welcome back uncle".
"Are you people real? And how am back alive?" asked Uncle James confused to hear he was back alive.
"I guess death can't hold you in his custody" said Adetutu (with a smile) to uncle James.
"But Fawrus took off my head" said uncle James (still confused).
"Yes, he did. But don't forget, as long as they are alive you can't stay dead" said Detective John to uncle James.
"This can't be true, this is another trick. How did you fix my head back" asked Uncle James looking worried and scared.
Adewale, Adetutu, and John noticed uncle James's behavior and Adewale said to him "you need to calm uncle and listen to me. Whatsoever you face when you died has ended. We are real and you are now back to the land of the living".
"Tell me how you fixed my head to my neck?" said uncle James scared.
"We didn't fix your head to your neck. Your neck fixed with your head itself because we are still alive. We just had to place your head closer to your neck" said Adetutu to uncle James.
Uncle James looked at Adewale, Adetutu, and John for a while and then looked around the room. Uncle James said to them with watery eyes "it is truly the three of you".
"Yes, it is" said John, then uncle James stood and hugged the three of them crying.
"It so good to have you back alive" said Adewale smiling, and still hugging uncle James.
"Seeing you all alive, does that mean Fawrus is dead?" asked uncle James still crying and hugging them.
"Yes, he is. We won, uncle. We killed Fawrus. We did it" said Adetutu with a smile.
"Then all thanks should go to John for going according to my plan" said uncle James still crying.
"What plan?" asked Adewale confused.
"He is the one that came up with the plan that I should try to kill Adetutu" said Detective John.
Adewale and Adetutu were shocked to hear that. Adetutu said to uncle James "so you were the one that suggested that John should kill me".
"Not kill you but try to" said uncle James still crying.
"But he stabbed me" said Adetutu to uncle James.
"You did, John?" uncle James asked John.
"He had to, uncle" said Adewale to uncle James.
"I knew you could do it, John. It is so good to have my head back on my body" said uncle James and they all smiled.
"We love you, uncle, so stop crying" said Adewale.
"Let me for now" said uncle James.
A FEW DAYS LATER
The dead police officers were given an honorable burial and Detective John was promoted from being a detective to a Deputy police officer.
Uncle James reunited with his family and they returned to their home to continue living their lives. Adewale and Adetutu now lived in their home and visited uncle James and his family from time to time. Adewale and Adetutu also resumed work at the company.
The dead police officers's families weren't in agreement that it wasn't Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James that killed their sons and daughters so they went to court and filed a case of murder against them. All the evidence presented at the court was against uncle James, Adewale, and Adetutu, and John couldn't do anything to help them but they later won the case thanks to the CCTV at the station.
When Fawrus was about to leave with Adetutu at the station, he turned the light back on. And on doing so the CCTV also was back online and it captured Fawrus as he was about to leave with Adetutu. The CCTV also showed Detective John, Adewale, and uncle James all lying on the floor unconscious on the ground, so the case was called off.
Detective John became family with Martin and visited them from time to time with her sister. Adetutu told them all that Fawrus told her and about Anmer. Adewale was happy that he was never an evil being but was under the influence of Lucifer.
Adewale and Adetutu no longer see themselves as brother and sister but as lovers. They spent all their leisure time going out to an exciting place and now shared the same bed. Adewale also returns the key necklace to her.
Uncle James didn't return to the company and spent all his time with his family.
