MY HEART (REUNION OF LEO AND DEO)

Chapter THE FEELING

One afternoon, Adetutu was out with her friend, Mr. and Mrs. Martin called Adewale and discussed with him that they want him to go and continue his studies in the united state. Adewale was so glad to hear that and asked if Adetutu was going with him but they said no because Adetutu made it clear to them that she would never go back to the united state again even though that was where she was born before coming back to the country with them, and she gave no reason why she doesn’t want to ever visit or go to the united state again.

By night, Adetutu return home and met Adewale watching Tv in the living room. They hugged each other and sat down, then Adewale told her he has good news for her. Adetutu asked what the good news was about with smiles both on their faces.

″Mum and dad have decided to send me to the united state to continue my studies″ said Adewale happily to Adetutu.

Hearing that made Adetutu’s mood changed and she stop smiling. Adetutu asked Adewale silently ″The united state you say?″.

″Yes″ said Adewale as he stopped smiling after noticing Adetutu’s facial expression tell she is sad.

″Where are mum and dad?″ asked Adetutu with a little bit of annoyance.

″What’s wrong?″ asked Adewale seeing the way Adetutu was behaving.

″Just tell me where they are″ Adetutu shouted at Adewale.

″In their room″ said Adewale as he was surprised and shocked that Adetutu could shout at him. Adetutu left the living room in anger while Adewale wondered why she was unhappy and shouted at him.

Adetutu barged into her parents’ room and got them startled as they were sited on the bed talking. Adetutu stood in from of her parents and said to them in anger ″why are you trying to take A from me?″.

Mr. Martin didn’t understand what Adetutu mean by the word A and asked Adetutu “calm down darling. Who is A?”

″Am talking about Adewale. Why are trying to take him away from me again?″ asked Adetutu as water filled her eyes.

″No darling, we will never do that. It’s just for him to get a better education″ said Mrs. Martin to Adetutu.

″Why send him to the united state of all places knowing I will never go there.....“, tears rolled down Adetutu’s eyes, “You know he is my happiness and you are trying to take him away from me″ said Adetutu to her parents.

″We are not baby. We just want him to have a better education just like the other kids″ said Mr. Martin.

After her father’s statement, Adetutu walked out of the room sad to hers.

Mrs. Martin (worried) said to her husband ″I told you she will be sad and won’t agree to this. What do we do now?″

“We do nothing. She will understand″ said Mr. Martin to Mrs. Martin.

Adewale came into Mr. and Mrs. Martin’s room to check on Adetutu but only saw their parents then they told him Adetutu had already left. Adewale went to Adetutu’s room to check on hers but couldn’t get in because Adetutu already locked the door from behind.

Adetutu was sited at her doorstep inside her room and rested her back on the door crying silently.

Adewale stood at the doorstep and said out loud to Adetutu ″please open the door, A. Let’s talk about whatever it is″, but there was no response from Adetutu.

Adewale (worried) said out loud to Adetutu again ″if it is about me traveling...... if you don’t want me to go I won’t I promise. Just open the door″, but there was no response from Adetutu nor did she open the door.

Adewale stood at Adetutu’s doorstep and continued begging Adetutu to open the door but she didn’t.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin even came to get her to open the door but she didn’t, then they later left to their room leaving Adewale.

Adewale eventually falls asleep at the doorstep calling Adetutu’s name and begging her to open the door which she didn’t. Adetutu also fell asleep while crying at her doorstep.

THE NEXT DAY

Mr. and Mrs. Martin woke up and went to check on Adetutu and meet Adewale asleep on her doorstep, they woke him up.

Mr. Martin said to Adewale ″You must have had a rough night, let’s get you to your room″, as they help Adewale up so they can all leave.

Just as they all took a step to leave, Adetutu opened the door and call Adewale. Adewale turned back and went straight to Adetutu. Adewale said to Adetutu ″I promise you I won’t go to the united state anymore, Please don’t shut me out, i.....″.

Adewale was cut short of words as Adetutu hugged him and he did back, then Mr. and Mrs. Martin smiled.

Adetutu later agreed that Adewale should go to the united stated to continue his studies. They both decided to spend a little time (before the travel) making good memories.

On the Adewale was to travel, he was driven to the airport by Mr. and Mrs. Martin accompanied by Adetutu. Mr. and Mrs. Martin said goodbye, now Adetutu turn but she looks sad.

Adewale noticed Adetutu’s sadness and said to her ″if you don’t want me to go we can all go back home right now″.

″No it’s okay, I just am gonna miss you″ said Adetutu to Adewale.

″Am also going to miss you, my princess″ said Adewale with a smile.

″Remember to always call me″ said Adetutu with a smile.

″I will make sure to call you every single seconds″ said Adewale with a smile.

Adetutu took off the necklace that has the lock ornament and pointed it to Adewale to take.

″Why are you giving me this? I gave it to you to give it to someone that will deserve your love one day, not me″ said Adewale, who didn’t want to collect the necklace.

″You are going to be that person for now since you are the only one in my heart right now. Take it and remember to always wear it and never take it off. That way it will always remind you of me″ said Adetutu.

Adewale collected the necklace and embraced her. They were like that for some minutes, before they separated.

″Don’t let those girls in the state take over your heart″ said Adetutu to Adewale with a smile.

Adewale smiled back at Adetutu and bowed to their parents to show his last respect to Mr. and Mr.s Martin before he left. Adetutu joined her parents and they waved Adewale goodbye.

Ever since Adewale left for the united state, something strange started happening between Adewale and Adetutu. The both of them were able to feel each other. It was like there were both present around each other and they were nothing to miss about each other. They could feel each other when they are sad, happy, excited, worried, or down. And to find out why one is feeling sad or happy they called. As this continued Adetutu didn’t think the both of them being able to feel each other is normal so she decided to tell her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin were sited in the sitting room talking, and two glass of juice and snacks (on a plate) was placed on a small table in front of them. Adetutu came in, greeted them, and sat down on a chair. Adetutu said to her parents ″Mum, dad, there is something I need to talk to you about”.

Upon hearing Adetutu, Mr. and Mrs. Martin diverted their attention to Adetutu to hear what she has to say. Mrs. Martin asked Adetutu ″okay but before that. Has Adewale called you today?″.

″Um.... why are you asking me that?″ Adetutu asked her mother.

″Because we both know he calls you more often than he does with us and most time we call him, his line is always busy and it’s because of you″ said Mrs. Martin to Adetutu.

″Because of me? Am I the one in charge of his line″ said Adetutu to her mother, pretending what her mother said isn’t true.

″He told us you were always the one calling whenever his line is busy. So has he called today?″ asked Mrs. Martin.

″How can he tell you such thing?″ said Adetutu.

″Because he is a good kid. So has he called today or have you call him today?″ asked Mrs Martin.

″Yes, mum. He called today″ said Adetutu.

″So my princess, what is it you want to discuss with us before your mum started with her question?″ Mr. Martin asked his daughter.

″Dad, something strange has been and is still happening between me and A ever since he traveled, and I don’t quite understand how it is possible″ said Adetutu (with a puzzled face) to her father.

″What’s that?″ asked Mr. Martin.

″I think there is a connection between me and Adewale″ said Adetutu.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin looked at each other upon hearing that and then back at her. Mrs. Martin asked her daughter ″What kind of connection are you talking about?″ .

″I mean we can feel each other. The feeling has to do with knowing when one of us is either sad or happy.

It’s like we can see through each other mind and it doesn’t happen with any other person except Adewale. it’s like a bond, mum″ said Adetutu.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin looked at each other again surprised to hear that. Adetutu noticed the way her father and mother looked at each other and asked them ″why are you looking at each other? Is anything wrong?″.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin looked back at Adetutu and then Mr. Martin said to her ″nothing. So you and Adewale can feel each other”

“Yes, father” said Adetutu.

“Is it like you can know what he is thinking?″ asked Mr. Martin.

″I can’t read his mind, dad. I can only know what he is feeling, same with him. I can know if he is sad or happy. Do we share a bond or are we connected in some ways you both might know?″ asked Adetutu.

″No. The only thing I can say to all that you have just said is that maybe you two do shared a bond. Even when you are both together it looks like you are connected in some way and now that you are apart you can feel each other which means the bond only grows stronger. I think the love you have for each other is something very magical″ said Mr. Martin with a smile to Adetutu.

″I think your dad is right. It’s also a great thing that you can feel each other, that way you can help and protect each other″ said Mrs. Martin with a smile to Adetutu.

″Wow, nice. I never thought about that. Thank you, mum and dad, am just gonna get back to my room″ said Adetutu to Mr. and Mrs. Martin, then she left.

Just as Adetutu left, Mrs. Martin (confused) said to Mr. Martin ″what the hell is going on darling? How is it possible to know what another human is feeling”.

″I don’t think we need to be disturbed by that. We were told they shared a bond, maybe it is the bond″ said Mr. Martin to Mrs. Martin.

FIVE YEARS LATER

Adetutu left home very early in the morning not knowing Adewale was arriving back home. Her parents and Adewale didn’t tell her because they all planned to surprise her.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin went to pick Adewale up at the airport. As they journeyed in the car home they talked. Mr. Martin said with a smile to Adewale ″you have gotten so big, son″

″I think that means am growing, dad″ said Adewale with a smile.

″I could barely recognize you at the airport″ said Mrs. Martin (smiling) to Adewale.

″Same here mum. You have become much more beautiful than before″ said Adewale with a smile to Mrs. Martin.

″Thanks, darling″ said Mrs. Martin with a smile.

″I can’t wait to see Adetutu’s face expression when she sees him″ said Mr. Martin to Mrs. Martin.

″What about mine? Am sure she is no longer the little sister I left for the united state. Where is she right now?″ Adewale asked his parents.

″She left home very early this morning and didn’t bother to let us know where she was headed″ said Mrs. Martin to Adewale.

″I can’t wait to see the smile on her face when she sees me″ said Adewale with a smile, Mr. and Mrs. Martin also smiled.

When they got home, Adewale took his luggage inside and re-arranged his room because it looked like someone has been sleeping in his bedroom. Adewale took a shower, change his clothes, and came to the dining room to eat.

A few hours later Adetutu is still not back then Adewale decided to go out into the city to take a look at it. Adewale told his parents and they gave him a car key.

After driving through places, Adewale parked the car in front of an ice cream shop and went in to get ice cream. Adewale came out of the ice cream shop licking the ice cream he brought as he walked to the car. On getting to the car and about to open the car, Adewale’s eyes sighted his beautiful sister across the road with her two friends wanting to cross, not too far from him.

Adewale was dumbfounded upon seeing Adetutu. Her face didn’t change much but her beauty was one of a kind. Adewale stared at Adetutu lost in thought of her charming face and waited for her to cross the road.

Adetutu was wearing an earpiece on both of her ears listening to music and at the same time busy with her phone while her friends were busy talking to each other as they waited to cross the road. The traffic light signifies red for vehicles and green for pedestrians then Adetutu’s friend dragged Adetutu’s clothing that it was time to cross and let go of her clothing as they walked.

Adetutu walked slowly behind her friends as they cross because all her attention was on her phone, while Adewale watched still finding it hard to believe that is his sister. Adetutu suddenly stopped walking forgetting she was still on the road and hasn’t fully cross because of her phone that she was busy with while her friends already crossed the road not knowing she wasn’t behind them anymore.

Seeing Adetutu stopped on the road, Adewale decided to go meet her and get her away from the road, and scorn her for pressing her phone on the road. As Adewale walked toward Adetutu, Adewale suddenly saw a car moving in Adetutu’s direction at speed not too far and was being pursued by a police car. Adewale screamed Adetutu’s name thinking she will hear him but she couldn’t because of the earpieces she was wearing in her ears and her focus was on her phone.

Adewale ran as fast as his legs could carry him still calling Adetutu’s name to get her off the road but she heard nothing and was just smiling focused on her phone. At that moment Adetutu became scared and worried.

Adetutu suddenly felt Adewale was in panic making her raise up her head wondering but she saw Adewale running to her. Adetutu was surprised and happy to see Adewale no longer minding why he was in a panic. Adewale tried to tell Adetutu to get off the road by using his hands as signs for her to move away from the road but Adetutu didn’t mind what Adewale was doing still forgetting she was on the road. Adetutu also thought Adewale was running to her to hug her and opened her arms wide.

The car being pursued by the police horn several times to get Adetutu away from the road as it move closer to her but she couldn’t hear because of the earpieces.

Adewale was able get to Adetutu before the car but the car was also already so close to then Adewale had to push Adetutu away and got hit by the car alone instead, Adetutu fell to the ground but saw as the car hit Adewale.

Upon hitting Adewale, the driver stopped the car, get down, and ran away. Adetutu quickly stood up terrified, pulled the earpiece off her ears, and went to Adewale that was lying down wounded and lifeless.

Upon getting to Adewale, Adetutu kneels beside Adewale, drop her phone and raises his head with her hands calling his name to wake him up. Adewale opened his eyes and cough out blood making Adetutu to become more terrified then Adewale with a smile said to Adetutu ″we have to stop meeting like this″, and fainted back

Just as Adewale fainted, Adetutu called his name then she fainted also.
