After Preslie left, Sheldon entered the room.

Ruth was hard at work to the extent that she did not notice Sheldon's arrival.

Her eyes were focused on knitting the dough but there was a faint smile on her face.

"Ruth," Sheldon said.

Ruth looked up and only then, she realized Sheldon's arrival.

She had been a servant in Quartley Palace for a long time, so she naturally knew Sheldon. She immediately put down the dough in her hands and said, "Mr. Hawls?" Sheldon nodded, a complicated look could be seen in his eyes.

"Mr. Hawls, why are you here?" Ruth asked him.

"I am just here to take a look."

Ruth hesitated for a while, then she mustered her courage and asked about how her child was doing in Quartley Palace.

Sheldon had no idea about it but even so, he still said, "Your child is very good in Quartley Palace. Madam Quartley likes him very much. Don't worry."

"Then, then what about the bread we sent over every day? Did he eat it?" Ruth's voice was filled with nervousness and anticipation.

"I heard that he did," Sheldon spoke against his will.

Ruth burst into a bright smile.

She whispered to herself, "I knew it. My child must have eaten the bread I made. He must have felt mommy's love for him. I am sure he did."

She ignored Sheldon's presence and continued to knit the dough again. She said, "I will continue making bread for my child, I want him to be able to eat it every day." Sheldon initially wanted to persuade Ruth to rest. However, after seeing the motivation in her eyes, he decided to let her be.

Perhaps, this was Ruth's happiest moment.

In the afternoon, Sheldon wanted to go back to Nashaland.

Coincidentally, Preslie went out for training at noon, so they did not meet. Sheldon only saw Yesseca when he went to say goodbye.

Yesseca specifically told Sheldon one thing and that he should not take Preslie's excessive words to heart.

"Mr. Hawls, Preslie is a straightforward person. Sometimes, she might speak without thinking carefully. Please don't be angry at her," Yesseca pleaded.

She did not forget how pale Sheldon's face was after Preslie made him angry last time.

"Don't worry," Sheldon said, "I understand how Preslie is. I will never stay mad at her."

Yesseca felt relieved.

She knew that Sheldon was one who would not get angry so easily.

"That's great," Yesseca said.

"Actually, I just find it strange. Why did Ruth suddenly work in your bakery?" Sheldon finally spoke out his doubts.

Yesseca told Sheldon everything.

Sheldon was touched.

He said, "That's great. Let her have something to rely on."

"That's what I thought as well," Yesseca said, "I just wish that Ruth will be able to be like me, to be able to walk out of the darkness and start anew."

"She will," Sheldon told her, "She will."

Yesseca smiled, "I hope so too."

Everything was fine until this point. However, perhaps Sheldon had too much in his heart, so he added, "Yesseca, actually, I never thought that things would end up this way. Everyone has stepped out of their shadows and have returned to their right track."

And then there was Ruth. She used to be such a misery after losing her son. However, now she was relieved as she had found something to rely on.

"Yes, this is indeed great. Everyone has returned to living normal lives," Yesseca whispered.

Soon Sheldon left. Yesseca looked up at the sky.
