My Guardian Demon

Chapter I'm Your Guardian Demon

"Will you shut up," He spat.

My heart was beating so fast, I seriously thought it was going to break out of my chest for a minute.

His black eyes had now vanished back to his light brown ones, and his wings were no longer visible. We both stood in the hall, without a word said to each other. Just our shallow breathing and the odd grumble coming from him to be heard.

"You good?" He asked, his eyes scanning my face waiting for my answer or a reaction. I just nodded my head, my eyes wide open. Still not being able to blink.

He slowly removed his hand away from my lips, his eyes still not leaving my face.

"Now I know you have a lot of questions right now, but I honestly can't be arsed answering them." He shrugged his shoulders and pushed past me.

"Who are you, why do you have wings and black eyes, er well you did before but now they've gone. What are you some kind of weird bat?" I rambled on before he turned back to face me with an angry annoyed look.

Gulp.

He took a few large steps towards me till he was towering over my small petite frame. I had to crane my neck just so I could look at him. "Will you zip it," He growled making me huff.

"As a matter of fact carry on, please. Your the one who will look like a freak speaking to no one."

"No one is here smartypants, and what do you mean speaking to no one? You're stood right in front of me." He creased his well-groomed eyebrows together, looking straight ahead with a sigh.

"Four words for ya," He lifts four fingers up in front of my face making me blink rapidly before speaking again.

"I'm your Guardian Demon," Then he disappeared right before my eyes in a puff of smoke making me gasp. I twirled around to see if he had snuck behind me again.

"Come back here and explain to me what you mean this instant!" I stomped like a child.

"Seriously? Do you like looking like a madwoman who shouts to herself," He points behind me with a smug smile on his face. This guy is already annoying me, but I followed the direction his finger was pointing to anyway.

Oh great the headteacher was stood down the hall with a not so happy look on his face. "Miss Walsh, come with me please," I sighed snatching my bag off the floor, the mystery guy beside me chuckling away.

"You're an idiot."

"Remember when I asked for your opinion? Yeah me neither." I spat before trailing after the headteacher, thanking God that he wasn't looking my way when I spoke to an invisible demon man.

I walked into his office and closed the door firmly behind me. Can this day just end already please, Aiden is going to be so mad when I go home later on.

"Please take a seat," I made my way over to the chair placed opposite from his with a desk separating us. I placed my bag on the floor before looking over at my headteacher. I was so nervous about what he had to say I started picking at my freshly painted nails.

"I won't mention what I witnessed in the hall, but how many times have you been sent here by Miss Reynolds. You spend more time here than you do in math class." He sat forward in his chair placing his arms on his desk intertwining his fingers.

"Well doesn't that say something? Come on Sir you know she has a problem with me, all I have to do is breathe for world war three to happen."

Another laugh came from the idiot beside me making me elbowing him in his side, causing him to groan but then I realized how weird I might have looked just then in front of the headteacher.

I gave him an awkward smile whilst I scratched the back of my neck, "Sorry I get spasms." I shifted in my seat trying to get comfortable.

"Bitch," So I elbowed him again, this time making him groan even louder from the impact. I really need to leave this office before I embarrass myself some more. The teacher was just staring at me, obviously confused at my behaviour and probably slightly concerned.

"Just please, try not to answer the teacher back. I'll remove your detentions but this is the final time. I won't be doing it again." I jumped up with my bag in hand smiling away.

"Thank you, Mr Jones, you're a star" I heard him slightly chuckle before clearing it with a cough.

"I mean it, Athena I don't want to see you in my office again for the rest of the year"

"You got it" I ran out of his office bumping into a hard wall.

"Sugar, who put a wall there..." I groaned to myself. Then I noticed who I ran into, my annoying jerk of an ex.

"Fancy running into you," He said with amusement. I tried to step around him but he blocked my way. "Woah what's the rush, how about me find an empty room to make out in. Like old times" He suggested making me cringe with disgust.

"How about no." I finally managed to manoeuvre passed him but he quickly wrapped his hand around my wrist, pulling me back till I slammed against his chest.

"Well, this is more like it.." He whispered in my ear. I could see the demon stood behind Brandon, glaring at the back of his head. His eyes turning into that deep black again.

I didn't want him to cause a scene so I looked up and stomped on his foot as hard as I could making him groan in pain.

"You bitch," He snapped. I'm definitely not a fan of this new nickname that I've been given today.

"I've been called worse."

"Like what?"

"You're girlfriend," I said as I walked away with a small smile. "What did you ever see in that prick?" The demon muttered.

"First of all..." I spun to face him, glancing around the hall making sure I didn't look like an idiot in front of anyone before I carried on speaking.

"Do not swear, it's rude." He scoffed, crossing over his large arms.

"Second of all, I have no idea. I must have been brainwashed or something. Anyway, I have nothing to do till class ends in twenty minutes so come on." I gripped onto his leather jacket pulling him with me whilst he squirmed and grunted.

"Will you not fucking drag me... Ow, what the fuck," He yelled as he pushed me slightly against the wall.

"Why the hell did you pinch me?"

"I told you not to swear didn't I, well that's what you get," He gave me an aggravated look. One of his hands against the wall next to my head.

"Right I need you to tell me what you mean by guardian demon, I thought it was meant to be angels." He just tutted pushing off the wall, "Angels are dicks." He spat.

"Well your not really much fun to be around either but you don't see me complaining," I said, I wish this guy would just stop avoiding my questions and just answer me.

I glanced at my watch sighing as I looked his way. "Please, can you just tell me why I can see you and your name? I think it's a little fair that you know my name but I don't know yours." His eyes darted in every direction before landing back on me.

Groaning loudly he stormed down the hall towards the back door that leads to the field.

"Well come on then don't make me change my mind," I began to jog towards him but I stumbled slightly, falling against his back.

"Ouch, how hard is your back," He just gave me a dark look before walking away from me. "I'm all muscle baby"

I rolled my eyes at his comment.

He is so full of himself.

"Keep rolling your eyes Athena, maybe you will find a brain back there," That was it, I've only just met this demon guy but he's annoyed me more than my brother Aiden has done in my whole eighteen years of life.

I held onto the strap of my bag and charged towards him. I jumped in the air wrapping my arms around his shoulders and my legs around his waist making us both fall onto the wet grass.

I was sat on top of him with him facing towards me. Another one of his scowls placed on his face. I just stayed in my position looking into his brown eyes, which are really pretty by the way. I noticed a scar just above his eyebrow. Hm, wonder how he got that?

"I'm really enjoying this position," He whispered, his scowl now replaced with a smirk. I don't understand what he means by that, we are both lay on the wet muddy grass, the rain slowly starting to fall from the clouds. How could he enjoy it?

Then it clicked as I felt a little bulge harden below me.

"Ew gross," I jumped up as he started to laugh deeply. "I'm a guy and you were sat on me there, what do you expect?" He looked over at me shaking his head from side to side, giving my cheek a little pinch.

"Well don't you look cute when you blush," I batted his hand away making him smile slightly.

"I am not cute," I muttered, picking my bag off the floor for the millionth time today.

"Just tell me your name and why I can see you but nobody else can," I ran in front of him so he would stop walking.

His black eyes returned as well as his wings before replying.

"My name is Zirach, but you can call me Zac. I am a demon obviously and I was sent to be your guardian. Everyone has them but only angels. You can actually see them, well you'll eventually be able to see them all after today."

I just stood there in shock.

"Why am I the only one who can see them though, can't I have a nice angel instead?"

"I don't know why you can. Yet, and I'm not exactly thrilled to be stuck with you either." He huffed.

"You suck," I spat.

"You swallow," He shot back making me pull a face.

"You're so dirty-minded." He gave me an amused look, looking towards the doors just as the school bell rang signalling it was time to go to my second class.

"You say I'm dirty-minded but then how did you understand what I meant?" and with that, he vanished again, not before I heard his deep chuckle again ringing through my ears. I kicked the wet grass, dirting my shoes a little.

What did I do in my past life to be given such an arrogant, dirty-minded, cocky demon?
