Chapter 1318
Chapter 1318 Use This Money
Joash, in the driver's seat, was concentrating on driving when he heard Charlotte's words, causing his pupils to dilate in surprise.
Ever since Bruce's death, he had been following Jerry and was aware of the deep relationship between Jerry and Charlotte. But was it really appropriate for him, an assistant, to have heard all this?
Joash thought to himself: With Jerry's status, getting hundreds of thousands in tips for accompanying wealthy women seems pretty normal, right?
Joash sneakily glanced at the rearview mirror, only to meet Jerry's icy cold gaze.
He quickly pressed the button, allowing the partition to separate the front and rear seats.
Seeing Charlotte being uncooperative, Jerry simply took a sip of mineral water and fed it to her with his mouth.
Charlotte was forced to drink several mouthfuls of mineral water mixed with sobering pills, which significantly alleviated the discomfort in her stomach.
Jerry kissed the moisture from the corner of her lips, then gently pried them open to engage in a deep, passionate kiss.
After the kiss, Charlotte's eyes welled up with involuntary tears due to her shallow breathing, causing her eyelashes to become damp and moist.
She looked at Jerry for a while, then buried her head in the crook of his neck, tightly hugging him. Soon, a helpless voice came out, "I don't have a father anymore..."
Jerry's eyes darkened, but he didn't say a word. Instead, he gently stroked her back with his hand.
Genevieve had been walking for just ten minutes when she grew tired. She waited for the driver to bring the car around, and then rode back to Swallow Garden with Armand.
It was almost dawn, and the housekeepers were all asleep.
Genevieve thought about the conversation she had with Charlotte while drinking in the private room, and how she used to manage the company for Armand, but never made a considerable income.
After taking a bath and getting into bed, she looked serious and said to Armand, "I want to earn two billion in three years."
Armand glanced back at her, then continued rummaging through the dressing table. He found a box of sleeping masks, picked it up, and twisted it open.
Armand asked her, "How do we make money?"
Genevieve scooped up a dollop of facial mask and, looking into the mirror Armand was holding, spread it evenly across her face. As she did so, she replied, "In a few days, I'll start working at Genevieve Orsi Productions. I'll plan out what I want to accomplish in the next three years and cultivate some best actors and actresses for the company."
"Genevieve Orsi has a solid foundation and is part of Specter Corporation. I believe that earning two billion in three years shouldn't be a difficult task. I have confidence in myself."
Genevieve had previously worked at Genevieve Orsi Productions, so she was familiar with the company's workflow. Moreover, she had access to a wealth of resources in the film and television industry, making it easy for her to get back into the swing of things.
Seeing her enthusiasm and eagerness to make a big impact, Armand said, "Go ahead and do it if you enjoy it."
Genevieve raised her eyebrows playfully and said, "How about this? In three years, I'll use the money I've earned to plan a wedding for us and fund our honeymoon abroad. What do you think?"
"I think it's pretty good," Armand chuckled softly, using his finger to wipe away the mud on the corner of her lips.
The next morning, Genevieve spent three and a half hours training in the training room. At two in the afternoon, she drove to Leila's tailor shop.
As Genevieve approached the entrance of the tailor shop, she could faintly hear voices coming from inside. She pushed the door open and entered, finding not only Leila but also another woman in the room. The woman was around thirty years old, dressed in a coat and boots, exuding an air of complete competence.
The woman didn't notice Genevieve entering the room and spoke kindly to Xenia, "Leila, as long as you're willing to make this traditional gown, you can name your price."
"I said I don't have time, and I mean it." Leila's face was cold and her tone was quite impolite. "I opened this tailor shop to pass the time, and I don't even necessarily do business with acquaintances. You come in here asking me to make clothes for you; who do you think you are?"
The woman's face turned pale, yet she couldn't refute it.
At this moment, Xenia saw Genevieve, and the displeasure on her face faded a bit, her tone becoming much gentler.
"Has Ms. Rachford arrived?"
"All right." Genevieve walked in with a faint smile, "If you have guests, please attend to them first. I'm not in a hurry."
Xenia gestured dismissively, "What kind of guest is that? A complete stranger, I don't even know them."
After she finished speaking, she went to the resting area to make tea.
And the woman didn't rush to leave either. She glanced at Genevieve and then approached her, "Ms. Rachford, are you close with Leila?"
