Chapter 1314
Chapter 1314 Promised To Kneel And Apologize
Genevieve saw two police officers getting out of their car, their uniforms displaying badge numbers. The woman named Tina approached them and started talking to the officers. It's likely that she's the one who called the police.
Charlotte's face turned blue with anger, and she said resentfully, "How disgusting! They can't accept their loss, so they called the police!"
Genevieve smiled faintly, "What's there to be afraid of? Even if the police come, he'll have to apologize."
As Tina and the two police officers approached, Genevieve had already retracted her foot and stood there leisurely with her arms crossed.
A police officer asked Genevieve, "Your boyfriend's girlfriend reported that you hit her. Is that true?"
"No way, I couldn't possibly beat him," Genevieve said. "We lost a bet, and he said he wanted to apologize to my friend, so he knelt down on his own."
Wilbur scrambled to his feet and exclaimed, "When did I ever make a bet with you?"
Before the competition, Wilbur had secretly placed a bet with Genevieve. Considering that the referee was also on his side, and now even the police had arrived, Wilbur stubbornly refused to admit that they had made a bet.
Genevieve laughed, as if she knew he would pull this trick, and took out her phone to start recording.
The recording is of her conversation with Wilbur when they made a bet.
The man's face changed immediately, and he quickly retorted, "You recorded me without my permission, that's a violation of my privacy rights!"
"I recorded the match to prevent any accidents. How did that invade your privacy?" Genevieve sneered.
When the police officer received the call, he initially thought it was a fight, but upon arrival, it was clear that the man had lost a bet and refused to admit defeat. This was something they couldn't handle. Just as the two police officers were about to leave, a taxi slowly drove up the mountain road.
Upon seeing the handsome man stepping out of the taxi, the police officers instinctively straightened their postures and respectfully greeted him.
"Mr. Faulkner."
Armand gave a slight nod and then walked toward Genevieve. Seeing her wearing only a baseball jersey, he felt a pang of sympathy and took off his jacket to drape it over her shoulders.
Genevieve tugged at her coat, feeling warmth in her heart, "Didn't I tell you to just send someone over casually?"
"It's too cold outside, let me give you a ride home. Have you finished your errands?"
"Nope." Genevieve lifted her chin toward Wilbur, "This guy raced me and lost. He couldn't accept the loss, and to make matters worse, his girlfriend called the police, claiming I hit him. It's just ridiculous." "Is there any evidence?" Armand asked.
"I recorded it, and they also have videos of the competition in their aerial camera."
Seeing that Genevieve was ready, Armand turned to Wilbur, his gaze calm yet incredibly intimidating. "Since you've lost, you should accept the consequences gracefully. Making a scene won't do anyone any good."
The intimidating aura of the man-made Wilbur's scalp tingle.
He never would have imagined that Genevieve had such a deep connection with the newly-appointed mayor.
"All right, I admit defeat. The cars are yours." The man handed over the keys to both the Ferrari and Lamborghini to Genevieve.
Genevieve took the car keys and said calmly, "Apologizing?"
As the man approached Charlotte and was about to speak, Genevieve casually said, "If you agreed to kneel and apologize, then kneel."
Tina said indignantly, "You're really taking advantage of having a husband who's an official, aren't you? It's too much!"
"He said it himself, if he loses, he'll kneel and apologize. I didn't force him," Genevieve said disdainfully. "My man is just here to pick me up, he doesn't have time to deal with you all." Genevieve said, "If you really care, you can even kneel down and apologize to him.”
Tina was so angry that her face turned blue.
In the end, Wilbur could only humbly kneel before Charlotte, apologizing for having shamed her.
