Chapter 24
Chapter 24
Magnus and Kristin walked together, and the phrase “match made in heaven” described them perfectly.
–
Wherever they went, they attracted a lot of attention.
The two returned to the car, and Magnus set off following the navigation.
“This outfit suits you well,” Kristin said, breaking the silence.
Magnus chuckled and said self–deprecatingly, “I’ve never worn such expensive clothes before.”
He was speaking the truth.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford it, but he just didn’t have much interest in clothes. As long as they were comfortable, he wouldn’t mind wearing cheap goods that cost only a few dollars.
“You have a special mission tonight,” Kristin said casually.
“What mission?” Magnus asked, puzzled and confused.
Kristin glanced at him complexly and said, “You are my fiancé, so your mission is to protect me and not let others harass me.”
Magnus then chuckled and said, “Don’t worry. I’m really good at chasing away other men who try to hit on women.”
The car slowly pulled into Yiefmery International Hotel 20 minutes later.
After that, Magnus followed Kristin to the 33rd floor.
The moment they entered the venue, the surroundings immediately quieted down, and many people’s gazes were focused on the two individuals.
One was as graceful and alluring as a mermaid, while the other was as dashing and well–dressed as Prince Charming.
However, many of them were sizing Magnus up because most of them knew Kristin, and they were really curious about the guy who could attend the event with Kristin.
“Ms. Thompson.” An elegantly dressed woman approached them.
“Ms. Sullivan,” Kristin politely responded.
“And this is?” The woman’s gaze fell on Magnus after she got near.
Kristin smiled slightly and generously introduced, “This is my fiancé.”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but quite a few people around her heard it.
They wondered, “Kristin’s fiancé?”
With this, everyone became even more curious about Magnus‘ background.
The woman’s expression changed slightly as she heard that.
She was still thinking that if Magnus and Kristin were just ordinary friends, then she had to get him no matter what.
As soon as she saw Magnus, her long–sealed heart couldn’t help but thump wildly.
Magnus saw Kristin chatting enthusiastically with the woman, so he grabbed some food and went to a corner to eat by himself.
At that moment, an extremely attractive western beauty walked through the crowd and came straight to Magnus.

With that, he looked up and immediately widened his eyes.
“Lucifer! I never thought I’d see you here!” the western beauty exclaimed in Friyxian, her face full of excitement.
“Julia, what a coincidence! How did you end up here?” Magnus said, somewhat embarrassed.
He was once a playboy, having experienced countless joys and sorrows with numerous beautiful women, and this woman was one of them.
“My company was preparing to invest in Yiefmery, and tonight’s event was specifically held for me by the Yiefmery Chamber of Commerce,” Julia Jennings explained.
“So that’s how it is!” Magnus nodded.
Suddenly, a look of apology appeared on Julia’s face. “I’m sorry, Lucifer. I got married.”
“Ah… Getting married is great. It’s a good thing!” Magnus scratched his head.
“You’re a philanderer, and I just couldn’t wait for you to settle down,” Julia explained with a touch of sadness.
Magnus just shook his head and sighed. “Don’t say things like that. Seeing you happy makes me quite glad.”
Upon hearing this, Julia suddenly covered her mouth and laughed. “Are you jealous?”
“Jealous? Am I?” Magnus was a bit confused as he pondered this.
“Lucifer, if you’re willing to settle down, then I… I’ll be willing to divorce for you. Julia seemed to muster up the courage when she said that.
Magnus immediately waved his hands and said, “No, no, no. Julia, I’m a philanderer. I will never settle down in my life, so don’t be impulsive.”
Seeing his appearance, Julia became even more certain that the man was jealous.
She then quietly leaned in toward Magnus‘ ear and whispered, “My husband isn’t in Clusia. I’ll be waiting for you in Room 1808.”
After saying that, she left and headed to the event venue.
Julia also didn’t forget to blow a kiss to Magnus upon walking out the door.
Coincidentally, Kristin saw this scene, and her brows immediately furrowed. Just as she was about to walk toward Magnus, a man in a white suit blocked her path.
“Hello, Ms. Thompson. I’m Prosperous Group’s CEO, Theodore Zimmerman. May I have the pleasure of dancing with you?” Theodore asked very gentlemanly.
Kristin clearly knew who Theodore was and was aware of his powerful background. She didn’t want to offend him, but she didn’t want to have too much contact with him..
She then found herself in a dilemma for a moment.
In the end, Kristin gritted her teeth and said, “Mr. Zimmerman, I’m really sorry, but I’m not feeling well.”
After speaking, she apologized and walked away from Theodore.
Theodore suddenly felt annoyed as he looked at her retreating figure, thinking, “Someone actually dared to refuse me even in such a small city as Yiefmery!”
However, when Theodore saw who Kristin was approaching, his facial expression changed once again, and a wave of anger emanated from him.
Clearly, the person he saw was Magnus.
Theodore didn’t rush over directly. Instead, he left the venue without making a sound.

Chapter 24
On the other end, Magnus had images of Julia’s impressive figure in his mind. He was hesitating about whether he should go to Room 1505 when Kristin suddenly appeared, giving him quite a scare.
“What are you doing?” Kristin asked.
“I’m eating” Magnus said, trying to maintain his composure.
“Who was that woman just now?” Kristin asked calmly
Magnus knew she was talking about Julia and felt guilty, so he casually replied, “A friend I met abroad in the past.”
“A friend?” Kristin was somewhat skeptical
However, it was at this moment that four to five hotel security guards came up to the two people.
The man in the suit, who was leading the group, stepped forward and asked Magnus, “Excuse me, sir, do you have an invitation to the banquet?”
Huh?
Magnus couldn’t help but be taken aback.
Kristin was taken aback for a moment before she quickly explained, “I brought him here is something the matter?”
Each guest at the banquet had an invitation, and one invitation allowed for one accompanying partner
The man in the suit gave Kristin a slight smile, then looked at Magnus and said, “So, sir, this means you don’t have an invitation?”
Magnus raised an eyebrow and said, “I don’t have it.”
“In that case, please leave the banquet, sir,” the man in the suit said, his tone becoming somewhat impolite.
“What do you mean by that?”
Kristin immediately became angry and reiterated, “I already said that he’s the person I brought
The man in the suit just smiled at her without explaining but insisted that Magnus leave, and the commotion quickly attracted a crowd.
Magnus instantly guessed that someone was targeting him.
His sharp gaze scanned the entire scene, eventually spotting Theodore, who was smirking coldly at him.
In an instant, everything became clear to him.
Magnus raised his middle finger at him, then coldly looked at the man in the suit.
“Are you sure you want me to leave?”
