Chapter 725 The Contradiction
Chapter 725 The Contradiction
There was nothing to be worried about if someone was stupid.
But the worrying part was when someone was stupid and he didn't know it.
While the two were talking, their car arrived at Marriott.
After Faye parked the car, she got out of the car with Colin at the same time.
As soon as they got out of the car, they saw Rebecca and Abbot, who were arguing not far away.
Abbot leaned on the car door with one hand and held his suit jacket in the other. His expression didn't look good and he said, "Isn't it just a contract? Just forget about it. Didn't you see the way that man looked at you? It's obvious that he is having other intentions."
Rebecca was very angry and said, "What do you think he wants from me?"
Abbot said sullenly, "What do you think it will be?"
Rebecca replied, "You have gone too far!"
Abbot yelled, "Did I go too far? The other man gets his eyes on my girlfriend. Am I not supposed to get angry? How could it be too much by getting angry?"
Rebecca was so angry by Abbot's attitude and it made her body tremble, "You also know that I'm just your girlfriend. Don't make it sounds like we are already married!"
Abbot frowned upon hearing that and said, "We have slept together. What's the difference between it and getting married?"
Rebecca was very angry and she mocked, "Do you think we are still living in those ancient times? Let me tell you. It doesn't make much difference even though we slept together before. A relationship isn't defined in that way!"
They were arguing with each other and neither of them would give in.
Seeing that the two of them were getting more and more aggressive, Faye pushed Colin gently with her hand.
Colin got what she was trying to tell him. He smiled lightly, stepped up to the two of them, and put his hand on Abbot's shoulder.
Abbot was so angry that he didn't notice Colin and Faye were there.
After seeing them, Abbot suppressed his anger and greeted them with a straight face.
"Since when you guys are here?"
Colin teased, "When you guys were talking about sleeping together."
Abbot poked Colin's chest with his elbow with an awkward expression.
Colin was pushed to the back slightly by Abbot. He chuckled, stepped forward again, and put his arms around Abbot's neck. Then, he said in a low voice, "Don't be silly. Just shut up if you don't want to break up with her."
Hearing Colin's words, Abbot frowned slightly. He turned his head to look at Colin and wanted to refute. But in the end, he remained silent. Seeing that Abbot stopped talking, Colin smiled at Rebecca, and said, "Ms. Black, don't be angry. You know better than us what Abbot's EQ is." Although Rebecca was very angry with Abbot, she was still a reasonable person.
She wouldn't lash out at innocent people. Even though she was furious because of Abbot, she wouldn't take it out on those who were next to them.
After Colin finished speaking, Rebecca forced a smile on her face and said, "Um."
Colin continued, "Let's talk inside. I'll lecture him for you."
When he was talking, he winked at Faye.
Faye understood him in seconds and stepped forward to persuade Rebecca.
Rebecca took two deep breaths, stretched out her hand to hold Faye's arm, and said, "I'm so mad. It's a good deal and the negotiation is done. Then, he messed it up when I was about to sign the contract." Faye said, "Let's not do this outside. It's dinner time now. A lot of people will be around. This industry is small. We wouldn't want to make a big fuss out of such a trivial matter."
Rebecca pursed her lips into a line and said unwillingly, "Okay."
As soon as the four of them entered the hotel lobby, the manager greeted them immediately and led them into the private room.
After the four of them sat down, the lobby manager asked courteously, "Mr. Farrell, Mr. Carter, we have had some new dishes recently. Would you like to try them?
Colin asked, "What kinds of cuisines are they?"
The lobby manager answered, "There are a lot of spicy dishes."
Colin said in a deep voice, "My wife has a weak stomach and she can't eat spicy food."
The lobby manager smiled and said, "There are other dishes as well. I'll take note that Mrs. Farrell can't eat spicy food."
Colin leaned his back in the seat while hearing the lobby manager's words. He wasn't sure whether or not should he believe the manager's words. He smiled lightly and said, "Thank you."
The lobby manager replied, "Please don't mention it. You all are regular customers of Marriott. It's my bad for not remembering the diet preference of our regular customers."
Colin continued, "You can make the call. Just don't make it too spicy."
The lobby manager answered, "Understood."
After the lobby manager finished speaking, he turn to the waiter, who was standing outside the door, and told him to inform the kitchen. Then, he stepped up to make tea for Colin and the rest before he left the
room.
As soon as the lobby manager left, Abbot pulled his shirt collar and said angrily, "You make me sound so useless because of an outsider."
Rebecca sneered, "How can you belittle yourself like this? How could you be useless? You are already the expert in making people annoyed."
