My Ex-wife's Hidden Personalities

Chapter 166

Chapter 166 Finding a Father for the Child
Freya smiled awkwardly and followed Brandon’s instructions to open the small cube,
While opening it, she said, “I was thinking of inviting you and Mrs. Lane for dinner if you’re free during the next few days, I’ll invite
Dr. Griffiths from Caltun General Hospital to come over too and have him give Mrs. Lane a brief checkup.”
Brandon sighed softly. Recently, he had been spending quite some time with Radley and Freya.
Especially his wife, who couldn’t have children due to health reasons. Freya had been helping Trisha with her health issues, and
they got along very well. Trisha almost treated Freya as her own.
Under Brandon’s guidance, Freya disassembled the cube.
But when Brandon reassembled it, she got stuck again and smiled awkwardly. “I forgot the steps.”
Then, Brandon couldn’t help but retort. “How do you run a business with that brain of yours?”
Feeling wronged, Freya argued, “You are an expert in this field. Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for you if I could remember all the
steps in one go?”
Brandon laughed. “So, this is my fault?”
“Well, you are a master in this field, Freya replied.
As they were joking around, someone pushed the door open.
Freya turned her head and saw Radley walking in.
No matter how many times she saw him, she was always amazed at the first moment.
He had a cold aura but an extremely handsome face. However, they were overshadowed by his ink-black
eyes.
Freya fell silent for a moment as she thought Radley was truly... Perhaps he had done a lot of good deeds in his past lives to
have such a handsome face, a family background, and intelligence.

Meanwhile, Radley didn’t know what Freya was thinking. After looking at her for a while, he turned to Brandon
“Mr. Lane.”
Brandon happily waved. “Come, Radley, I made a small tenon-mortise cube. Freya couldn’t solve it, so you give it a try!”
After arriving beside Freya, Radley sat beside her.
He took the small cube that Brandon had put back together and placed it on the table. Then, he rested his arm on the table,
examining the cube from all sides.
Freya sat beside him, her gaze shifting from the small cube to his hand.
His fingers were slender, with distinct joints and neatly trimmed nails. The bones on the back of his hand would slightly protrude
when he exerted force.

Silently looking at her own hand, Freya felt somewhat better because her hands weren’t bad either.
After examining the cube from all sides, Radley quickly tried solving it.
Freya watched him pulling on one piece after another and then seemed to have suddenly gotten the gist of it before finally
solving the intricate little cube made up of twenty-one small wooden blocks within three minutes.
“How did you do it?” Her eyes widened in astonishment.
Brandon teased her from the side, “It’s because you’re dumb.”
While gritting her teeth, Freya didn’t argue with him and praised Radley, “Radley, your brain is truly amazing.
Radley smiled slightly, pleased with the praise. “I’ve been solving similar puzzles every day recently.”
Freya glared at Brandon in anger.
There was nothing urgent at the West Geft Joint Department today. All the recent and initial difficulties in the project had been
resolved, and it was now proceeding at high speed.
So Freya and Radley stayed in Brandon’s office.

Brandon had a chessboard and a coffee table in his office.
Therefore, Freya and Brandon played chess together to pass the time.
While playing. Brandon glanced at Freya’s belly and asked, “Are you almost due?”
Freya gently touched her belly and smiled. I’m seven months pregnant, so it’s getting close.“
Nodding. Brandon finally asked the question that had been bothering him, “Freya, where is the father of your child?”
It had been seven months, but he had never seen or heard her mention the child’s father.
Radley’s gaze deepened.
Freya thought for a moment and said, “We broke up.”
This way, she wouldn’t be lying to Brandon, and Radley would think that she had broken up with Matthew.
“That father is such a bastard!” Even the easy-going Brandon could not help but curse.
Freya was taken aback and glanced at Radley.
Radley nodded in agreement, which was rare. “You’re right.”
Hearing that, Freya couldn’t help but chuckle.
Taking the opportunity, Brandon continued, “Stop laughing. Being a single mother is tough!”
As he spoke, his gaze occasionally shifted toward Radley, “Actually, it’s not a bad idea to find a father for the child.”
Finding a Father for the Child
Radley smiled faintly.
Freya clicked her tongue. “Having me around is already enough, so a father is unnecessary for the baby.”
The way she spoke so frankly earned Brandon’s disapproval. “You don’t understand. Although your Kaufmann family will provide
for the child’s needs, the child’s psychological well-being is more important. If someone foolishly mocks your child for not having

a father, even if you beat that person up, it will still hurt the child. When the child grows up, he or she will understand that
everyone else has a father.
“Yes. Girls usually see their fathers as their protectors while boys think their fathers are superheroes and their role models,”
Radley added calmly.
Freya gritted her teeth. “Radley, you say that as if you’ve experienced it yourself? Hmph, you seem to know a lot.”
Radley chuckled lightly and glanced at her belly. “I don’t have any experience, but I’ve seen a lot to know about it.
When Freya heard that, she felt like he was mocking her.
In regard to this matter, she knew she couldn’t argue with Brandon.
But she also didn’t want to find just any father for her baby. With someone currently secretly targeting the Kaufmann family, she
didn’t want to involve another person in this dangerous situation.
Noting Freya’s silence, Brandon didn’t continue.
The small teapot on the tea table began to whistle, so he instructed Radley, “Stand in for me.”
Brandon went to make tea while Radley played chess with Freya.
When Freya was younger, she lived with her maternal grandparents in Vroria for a while and learned chess from her maternal
grandfather. Therefore, she was quite skilled in it.
“Checkmate!” Freya saw Radley’s move and felt she had already won, so she picked her last chess piece and moved it.
Her movement was so quick, and Radley hadn’t had time to retract his hand.
Then, their hands met, separated by a hard chess piece.
Feeling the warmth from the other person’s hand, Freya quickly pulled her hand back and said awkwardly. “You lost.”
Radley’s gaze flickered slightly. “Hmm.”
Bringing the tea, Brandon asked, “Freya, didn’t you say you wanted to invite me to dinner these past few days? Trisha called
when I was making tea and said she’s bored at home with nothing to do every day. You mentioned you wanted to invite Director

Griffiths as well, right? Why don’t you ask him if he’s free tonight?”
Freya had no objections, and her face was slightly flushed from the incident just now.
She immediately got up and grabbed her phone. “Okay, I’ll contact Dr. Griffiths and let you know later.”

Using the excuse of making a phone call, she slipped out of Brandon’s office.
Since Ethan was available, the gathering was set for tonight.
Freya returned to the office and informed Brandon, who was delighted. “Okay, tonight it is.”
Radley stood up. Tll have Connor pick up Mrs. Lane.”
He swept his gaze over Freya, but she avoided his gaze. I’ll go back to my office. There are still some documents I need to deal
with.”
While watching her leave, Radley noticed her slightly reddened ears.
Brandon suddenly laughed. The road ahead is long and challenging.”
Radley’s mood suddenly brightened as if a beam of light had illuminated his dark world. “I will persevere and explore.”
At least she had started to care about him.
