Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Charlotte was indifferent to the matter as if it were just an interlude that would not affect her in any
way.
She went straight to the hospital.
Charlotte came into the vice president’s office. The police had come over to investigate.
According to the clues, Charlotte’s grandma’s attending doctor, nurses, and caregivers were no longer in this hospital.
“Where are they now?” Charlotte’s voice was cold.
One of the caregivers resigned and went abroad a week before Charlotte came back. Charlotte was suspicious of them.
Charlotte couldn’t help feeling chilled.
She thought, “Could it be that someone murdered Grandma? Who is it?”
“They all went abroad,” the vice president answered respectfully.
They all left the country.
Even the caregivers went abroad.
They didn’t know any foreign languages and couldn’t carn much money. Charlotte wondered, “Why did they go abroad?”
The signs of a conspiracy were clear.
“They changed their phone numbers long ago, so it’s not easy to contact them.”
Charlotte walked out of the hospital in a daze.
The phone vibrated. She turned it on and answered, “Hello.”
“Charlotte, you came back but didn’t call me.”
Charlotte was stunned.
Listening to the familiar voice, Charlotte did a double–take and remembered who it was.
Half an hour later.
The pub in the city center was elegant and distinctive.

Chapter 25
The woman sitting opposite Charlotte was wearing a suit, looking charming, confident, and energetic.
“Few people dare to think about the car accident that happened 2 years ago. I didn’t expect you to be alive.” The woman picked up a glass of wine and downed it.
Charlotte didn’t like drinking much.
Yet she also picked up her glass and took a sip.
“Annie took advantage of you and your family when she lived in your home. What a disgusting woman!” the woman opposite said.
She was Susan Smith, one of Charlotte’s few good friends in school.
When Charlotte was going to marry Zachary, Susan advised her many times, saying that as a rich and beautiful woman, Charlotte didn’t need to marry into a wealthy family.
However, Charlotte was blinded by her love for Zachary at that time.
“When did you return home?” Charlotte asked.
Soon after Charlotte’s wedding, Susan left the country.
Susan was probably busy with her career in those years. They kept in touch with each other until the car accident.
Charlotte’s return shocked many people.
Hearing the question, Susan sniffed.
She then looked at Charlotte’s face and replied in a low voice, “When the car accident happened.”
Charlotte smiled, feeling sad.
Without waiting for Charlotte to speak, Susan complained about her.
“I was mad at you. When you said you wanted to marry Zachary, I tried to prevent you, but you didn’t listen to me and insisted on marrying him.”
“I didn’t insist, Charlotte retorted.
She and Zachary just drifted into it.
However, Susan changed the subject.
“I can’t blame you for trusting your grandma and Jerry, but why didn’t you know how to protect yourself in a marriage?”

Chapter 25
In Susan’s opinion, the car accident was planned by someone.
Knowing about Annie and Zachary’s engagement, Susan was even surer of this.
