My Ex-Boyfriend’s Brothers: Chapter 34
I’d made a mistake. I hadn’t considered that Maggie would have to take the pants and jacket off. Standing outside of a busy bar, I had to stand there and bite my tongue while I watched her strip down to the tiny dress she’d chosen. As her curves slowly came back into view, I let out a groan and glanced around to make sure no one else was watching. Seemed I had a bit of a possessive streak, too.
“You okay?” Maggie shrugged out of the jacket and smiled up at me as she ran her fingers through her hair. “You’re making a lot of sounds right now.”
I shoved the leathers into the saddle at the back of the bike and took her hand. “Seeing you undress in any shape or form is always going to make me hard.”
Her eyes dropped down to my dick and narrowed. “You don’t look hard.”
I loved her being sassy. It was hot as fuck. I spun her into my arms and rocked my hips into her so she could feel that under my jeans, I was painfully hard. “Do I feel hard?”
She bit her lip and nodded. “Very.”
The heavy door to the bar opened behind her and loud country music poured out. I glanced up and blew out a hard breath. “Let’s go in before I drag you behind the bar.”
I opened the door for her and followed closely behind her. I kept myself pinned to her back as I gently led her towards the bar. The room was crowded and the dance floor full of couples moving together to the slow drawl of the singer playing overhead. I scanned the people around us with a dark scowl on my face to make sure they knew to stay the fuck away from her.
Once we got to the bar Maggie turned and looked up at me with her painted red lips stretched wide in a smile. Her hair curled so far down her back that it brushed over my painfully tight pants. “I haven’t been to a bar in forever. Thank you for bringing me out.”
“Don’t thank me. It’s a purely selfish move. I wanted you all to myself.” I looked around us and shook my head. “I didn’t think it through.”
The bartender moved over to us and I ordered a beer while Maggie ordered a mixed drink. Once he was gone, she leaned into me and wrapped her arms around my waist. “It’s still nice. I can feel you being all protective. You can relax, big guy. I’m not a bar guys’ type. No one is going to scoop me up.”
I had to wait for the bartender to slide our drinks over and fuck off before I could respond to her. I gripped my beer in a tight fist and leaned down so I was eye to eye with her clear green ones. “Speak negatively about yourself like that again and I’m going to prove to you for once and for all just how beautiful you really are.”
She gasped. “I wasn’t-”
“You were.” I held her around her waist and squeezed her to me. “Say that you’re beautiful, Bubbles.”
Her eyes went wide. “What? Here? No.”
“Do it.” I lowered my mouth to her ear and growled out my words. “You’re the most beautiful woman in here, Bubbles.”
She threw her drink back when I shifted away from her and then shook out her hands and rolled her shoulders like she was about to join a wrestling match. “You don’t get it.”
“I get a lot.”
She let out a frustrated little growl and gripped my shoulders so she could stretch her mouth up to my ear. “I’m beautiful. There. Are you happy?”
Letting my hand rest against the top curve of her ass, I nodded. “Very. Dance with me?”
“Fine. Even if you are bossy.” She twisted away from the bar and I had to rush to close the gap between us. She had no clue how stunning she was and how many men were checking her out at that very moment. With every hint of her dress showing more thigh, breaths stuttered. She might’ve known if not for Brad.
I pulled her close on the dance floor and showed off my very limited moves. We swayed back and forth with her head on my chest as I quietly sang along to the love song playing. When a faster song came on, I proved just how limited my skills truly were by standing still as she danced in front of me.
Tipsy from her first drink of the night, she slowly loosened up. She turned around and rolled her hips into mine, grinding her ass against my dick. She spun around and laughed wildly when I twisted her back into me. I quickly realized that it didn’t matter if I couldn’t dance. Maggie didn’t give a shit. She just wanted to dance with me in whatever way I could. Her joy made me feel ten-feet tall.
I laughed with her as she stepped on my toes and sang to her when I knew the songs. My voice was shit but she didn’t mind. She was a fucking glowing light in the middle of that bar. Her smiles were warm and generous, her eyes bright with life. She felt like hope as I watched her twist around me.
It occurred to me that I was already in just about as deep as a man could get. It should’ve felt out of hand or nuts to feel the way I did but it was like I’d just pulled on my favorite shirt. It fit. Feelings I’d fought for years weren’t being suffocated finally and they weaved their way through my DNA as easily as I breathed.
I pulled Maggie back to the bar after we’d been dancing for a while and ordered a water for myself. When she did the same, I raised my brows at her. “I’m driving. What’s your excuse?”
“I just know you and I know that if I get wasted, you’re never going to give me everything I want tonight.” She pressed her hand to my stomach and let her fingers trail lower. “Plus, I have no desire to be drunk on the back of a motorcycle. Even if I know you’d keep me safe.”
“What do you want tonight, Bubbles?”
Her lips tipped up in a slow, sensual smile. “You.”
I gripped her hips hard and pulled her flush against my body. “Are you ready to go home?”
She opened her mouth to answer but let out a surprised sound instead while twisting her head to look behind her. I followed her gaze and saw a man standing just behind her, his eyes on the bar in front of him, unmoving.
“What’s wrong?”
Maggie frowned and shook her head. “Nothing. I think my hair just got caught on something.”
I turned us around so I was between them. I saw his eyes widen as he glanced over and saw me watching him. “Try pulling my hair, asshole.”
Maggie burst into a fit of giggles when the guy vanished into the crowded bar. She’d pulled her hair over her shoulder, though, keeping it away from any other creeps. “I guess he didn’t like your hair.”
“Has that ever happened before? Has anyone, as an adult, ever just tugged on your hair?” I saw her roll her eyes and nod and wanted to chase the man down and beat him to a pulp for daring to touch her.
“It’s pretty common.” She cupped my face and grinned. “You and your brothers like to pull my hair, too. It’s just not as weird when you three do it.”
I was clearly looking for trouble as I pressed on. “Did Brad?”
Her face twisted and she stuck out her tongue. “No. If he would’ve pulled my hair, I would’ve pulled his back and not for fun. We had very plain, boring, bad vanilla sex with the lights off. I never came and he never cared. You, Ryan, and Luke are opening up a whole new world for me.”
I swallowed. A tsunami of jealousy and rage at our youngest brother hit me hard. “That was very open and honest of you.”
Her laughter bubbled out of her and she even snorted she laughed so hard. “You asked! Come on, you big baby. Take me home and let me make you forget the rest of the world.”
I ran my hand down to her ass and squeezed. “I want to murder that guy, Brad, and any other man who’s ever looked at you. I don’t know if I can make it back to the resort.”
She tipped her chin towards the back of the bar. “Bathroom?”
My fingers flexed. “Not unless you want the entire bar to know I’m trying to fuck you through the floor tonight.”
“There was a motel up the road. The sign said they rent by the hour.” She licked her lips and her eyes flashed with excitement. “I’ve never been a rent by the hour girl, Jackson. For you, though…”
I gripped her hand and dragged her out of the bar. My dick was so hard that it could’ve driven my bike by itself. Maggie and I both yanked the leather over her body, with me stealing a few touches as I went. I didn’t bother to even buckle my helmet as I pulled out of the parking lot. Desperate wasn’t a strong enough word. Not even close.
