Chapter 24 : I Would Only Sleep With The One I Love
Chapter 24: I would only sleep with the one I love
Carlos followed the waiter up to the second floor, where the noise was much less.
-Carlos!
A tall, handsome man was sitting in a high chair, leaning lazily on the bar behind him, and he raised his arm to greet Carlos. Not like Carlos' suit, he was dressed casually.
Carlos sat down next to him and immediately opened a bottle of beer with fluid movements and placed it in front of Carlos. Carlos lifted the bottle very nonchalantly and took a sip while a couple of women sitting in the far corner shouted.
-How handsome, the one coming from behind is even more handsome. That cool aura...
-Wow, what a nice drinking pose....
-Wow, he's the most handsome man I've ever seen!
***
Ernesto looked at the group of nymphomaniacs.
-Carlos, you stole my thunder.
Carlos ignored him and took another sip of his drink, watching Ernesto's phone vibrate there on the bar with its blinking light.
Ernesto looked at his phone, raised an eyebrow and leaned his right elbow on Carlos' shoulder.
-He said, "That Amelia Atenas is about to blow up my phone just to ask for your private number. Now, can you have a little mercy and leave me alone? -It's none of my business.
-But I mean, you and Amelia at least had a...
Carlos' icy eyes fell on Ernesto....
-My fault, I'll drink and punish myself with a bottle!
It was the same as before, not wanting to mention a person or thing he didn't care about.
Ernesto picked up the bottle, took a few big sips, put it down and touched his mouth.
-How come you're willing to come with me here? Usually, you never come!
Carlos, however, asked instead of answering.
-Are you alone? What about your girlfriends?
-Hey, now you're worried about my girlfriends? Before, you didn't even waste a glance! Something's up! Who's the girl you like?
Carlos had a red ear, but fortunately the lighting was dim and not visible.
He turned his head and looked at the men and women dancing on the dance floor downstairs.
However, Ernesto suddenly became emotional.
-Those girlfriends are only there for physical needs! Now I just want to find one I really love.
Carlos looked at his best friend a bit dumbfounded, as if he didn't know him!
Ernesto looked a little sad and took a big sip of wine.
-Women who look at me because of my looks or my family, they disgust me, they are hypocrites, pretentious!
Ernesto lifted the bottle and took another sip.
-You haven't spoken to Leonardo in a while, have you? The bastard fell in love recently, said he'd met the one, bragged about how happy he was every day and erased all the women from his address book except his mother.
Leonardo Pinto, that playboy, was he going to settle down?
Carlos expressed his doubts.
-I want one like this, to think only of her, to greet her every sunrise, not to spend time under these lights....
Just to think of her and greet each sunrise with her every day....
Carlos' mind remembered Micaela's shy face....
He lifted the bottle and gently touched Ernesto's with a crunching sound.
-I'm sorry.
Ernesto rolled his eyes at Carlos.
-Carlos, you're not too young. As for family, Leonardo and I consider ourselves from a wealthy family, but we don't even dare to compare ourselves to you. As for looks, you surpass me... Come on, you're the handsomest, I'm second! You've been single for 27 years, if you haven't met anyone for a serious relationship, you at least want a one-night stand, right?
-I didn't know Mr. Mancebo was so concerned about my private life....
Carlos
gave him a weak look and continued.
-I would only sleep with the person I love.
At this, Ernesto was surprised and sat up straight.
A small part of him had already understood a lot of information with his sentence.
-It seems that Amelia's heart is about to break....
Seeing Carlos' cold stare, he immediately raised his hands in surrender:
-I won't mention her anymore! I promise!
Carlos took a sip of his drink and looked back down to the dance floor to be surprised to see a familiar, petite figure....
Micaela clutched Alba's hand tightly as the raucous music around her and the bright, dim lights made her dizzy, she didn't like this place at all to celebrate leaving the scum!
Alba, however, was so excited that she pulled Micaela inside as she shook her body to the music.
-Micaela, look, this is nothing like a foreign bar! The music is great.
The deafening music prevented Micaela from hearing what Alba was saying as she turned to her.
Anxious, she tugged Alba and shouted:
-Alba, let's go somewhere else!
Alba, of course, didn't hear Micaela's shouts and was so glad to sneak home that she wanted to bring Micaela along to experience more of life, her good girl world was so boring! Finally finding an empty seat on the side, Alba pulled Micaela to sit on the couch.
-A dozen Lindemans -said Alba to the waiter who had come over to ask.
Micaela was surprised, a dozen?
-Alba, no, I don't drink.
-What's the point of coming to a bar if you don't drink? Besides, it's a fruit beer, it's like a soft drink, you're not going to get drunk!
The bartender rushed over with a tray and left 12 small, delicate bottles of beer and several piles of small plates on the table. Alba opened a bottle and handed it to Micaela deftly.
-Take it, taste it!
Micaela, seeing Alba's face full of excitement and her eyes shining, couldn't help her curiosity and took a small sip....
It was very smooth in the mouth, light and fruity, with a hint of cherry, it was really very pleasant to drink!
Alba smiled triumphantly at Micaela's incredulous expression and opened a new bottle, toasting with her own.
-Isn't it? Ha ha, look at you, come on, cheers!
Suddenly, the music in the bar changed rolls, the rock music stopped playing, the live band played soft piano and several couples immediately took to the dance floor and embraced and danced. The atmosphere was especially conducive to conversation, and Micaela and Alba, who had an unusual reunion, had so much to say that they drank several bottles before they realized it. The two were chatting happily when an elegantly dressed woman suddenly stopped in front of their table.
-Hey, isn't that Alba?
Alba and Micaela looked up and saw that it was Ivanna German, the daughter of the Alemán family, with whom they had also gone to college.
Ivanna felt superior and looked down on the ordinary people at the university.
-Alba, I tell you that things are classified by class, just like people. We, the upper class, must be with the upper class so as not to lower our class. With that, she looked contemptuously at Micaela.
-That some people aspire to be a mistress, and it's better not to hang out with her!
