In a shabby little room, Ken was deeply sunk
into the sofa.
Around him were a pile of empty bottles and
scattered takeout boxes.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Ken snapped to attention and rushed to the
door, “Cloris, is that you…”
When he opened the door, he froze. There was no one outside, only a videotape and a court
summons.
Ken went back inside and played the tape, revealing a video.

arrogant and overbearing.
“Alright, it’s settled. You help me fake the cancer diagnosis, and we’ll split the money.”
A man hugged her from behind and asked: “What if that fool doesn’t give us the money?”
Hannah just chuckled lightly: “I’m his first love. He’s always cared for me. Besides, he didn’t even believe his own daughter had cancer. The money sitting in his account is just going to waste; it might as well go to us.”
Ken’s eyes burned with rage, and he crushed the remote in his hand.

He was angry, but more than that, he was filled with regret. He felt he could never face his wife and daughter again.
On the day of the trial, Ken gave up defending himself and simultaneously sued Hannah.
I sat in the courtroom, watching them turn against each other.
As the verdict was delivered, Ken suddenly pulled out a knife from his pocket. With a swift motion, he slit his throat, and bright red blood gushed from his neck.

After everything was settled, Candice took me to the beach to watch the sunset.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we sat on the sand and clinked our glasses.
“Candice, let’s go home…”
