Chapter 31
Tory POV
Michael and I did not make it back to our wedding reception. We heard it, but we skipped it. It certainly sounded like everyone had a good time. We laid in the bed with one another, cuddled up and making love all night. It was a perfect night for us. I hope Tee and Henry are okay this morning.
I slip into his robe and go down the stairs to make myself a cup of coffee. Maybe I will cook breakfast for us this morning. I walk into the kitchen to see Tee sitting in the kitchen.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I work here, remember," Tee says.
"Yeah, but your husband is home; you should be with him," I say.
"He is leaving back out this morning," Tee says.
"Is everything okay between the two of you?" I ask.
"Yes, we are fine, but Henry loves his job. He does not want to come off the road. He knows Alpha will look out for me. I told him everything that happened. He was upset. We cried, we talked, and we worked through it. In the end, he decided he did not want to work for the pack. He wants to keep traveling. I support his decision," Tee says.
"He loves you, Tee. Besides, I can use your help. I like having you around," I say.
"I know you need me to help you keep Alpha in line," Tee says.
"I thought I would cook breakfast," I say.
"No, I will take care of it," Tee says.
I make myself a cup of coffee and go back upstairs. Michael is awake. "Where were you?" he asks.
"I was downstairs talking to Tee," I say.
"Oh, Is she okay?" he asks.
"I think she will be okay. Henry is leaving going back on the road. She is downstairs cooking breakfast. She says she is not upset, but I can tell she is upset," I say.
"I will talk to her," Michael says.
"Good," I say. I look out the window, sipping my coffee. I cannot believe how happy I am right now.
Six Months Later I get up and get dressed quickly. I run downstairs and pass Tee and Michael.
"Where the hell are you going so fast?" Tee asks.
"I have an appointment. I cannot find the keys to the truck," I say.
"I don't have anything to do this morning. I can drive you," Michael says, jingling the keys in front of me.
"No! I need to do this by myself," I say. I take the keys from him and run out the door.
I run to the truck and get in. I crank the truck and start to back out. Michael runs up to the truck. "Wait for a second; you never do this. What is wrong?" he asks.
"Nothing, I have something I have to take care of personally. Please let me do this alone. It is a female problem, do you really want to go with me for this. I do not want to see a pack doctor for this," I say. "Okay, call me if you need me," Michael says. He leans into the truck and kisses me.
I pull out of the driveway and start my drive. I am so nervous. I look at the time. Fuck I am late. I cannot be late. This is way too damn important to be late. I speed up, driving faster, trying to get into town. I look at the clock again as I finally make it out of the countryside and into town.
I see the office building and pull into it. I park the truck, grab my purse and make a run into the building. I rush up to the front desk. "Hi, I have an appointment," I say to the receptionist.
"Sign in please, we will be with you shortly," she says. I sign in on the white clipboard. I take a seat and wait.
I get my phone out and turn it off. I do not want any interruptions right now. I sit tight, anxious, and about to cry. I need them to hurry up and call me back. Finally, someone comes from the back and calls my name. I stand up and walk to the back, following the lady in the lab coat into a cold triage room.
"What are your symptoms?" she asks.
"I do not feel like myself. Something is wrong with me; I do not know what, but something is wrong," I say to her. The young blonde looks at me funny.
"Okay, let's start with a pregnancy test. Go into the bathroom and pee in a cup. Place the cup in the window," she says.
"Honey, I am way too old to be pregnant. I thought maybe it was something hormonal," I say.
"First, we will do the pregnancy test than blood work, okay, hon," she says rudely.
This is why I did not go to one of the pack doctors. "It is doctor, not hon. I will go pee in a cup, but it will be negative," I say to her.

I go into the bathroom pissed off. I take out the cup and remove the wrapper. I cannot believe I am taking a pregnancy test. I am way too old to be pregnant. I need blood work, not a piss test-these idiots. I pee in the cup and place it in the window. I go out of the bathroom and back into the triage.
"I will be right back, doctor, with your results, then we will do blood work, okay," the young nurse says.
After ten agonizing minutes, the nurse comes back smiling like the cat that ate the canary. "It is negative correct," I say.
"Actually, doctor, it is positive," she says.
"What!" I exclaim.
"I said you are pregnant," she repeats herself.
"Are you sure?" I ask.
"I knew you would ask that, so we did three tests, and guess what? All three were positive," she says.
I sit in the triage room, stunned. "Do you want to make an appointment with one of the OB's in the building?" she asks.
"No, I will see one of the pack doctors," I say to her. I pick up my purse and begin to walk out of the office. I am stunned. What the hell will Michael think.
