Alpha POV

Tory and I get off of the boat and walk along the shoreline. She wants to see the water and walk around people watching, as she called it. She smiles and laughs as we walk. She looks unbelievably happy. She is beautiful like this, not worried, just free. There is nowhere I would rather be than here holding her hand walking next to the water.

We stop in front of a stone bench. She climbs up on the bench so she can reach a magnolia growing on a tree. "I would have happily gotten that for you," I say to her.

"I know, but I wanted to do it myself," She says. She plucks the magnolia out of the tree and puts it in her hair. She falls forward into my arms and kisses me.

"Have I told you how beautiful you are today?" I ask her.

"Yes, several times, but I like it when you tell me," Tory says.

I take her hand, and we walk up to the restaurant. It is full of people. "Do you think maybe we could get it to go? So we can talk and enjoy each other?" Tory asks.

"I was thinking the same thing," I say to her.

"Do you want to eat on the boat or by the water?" Tory asks.

"I have a better idea, come on," I say, taking her hand and leading her to the lobby. I leave Tory in the lobby and walk over to the front desk. I watch her as I make arrangements for us. It only takes a moment, but I cannot keep my eyes off of her. "What did you do?" Tory asks.

"I got us a room here for the night. We can order room service and talk privately," I say, and Tory beams with joy.

"I thought you would like this better than sleeping on the boat," I say.

"This is incredible," Tory says.

"I thought you would like it. I had thought about it, but I was afraid you would think I was too forward," I say.

"No, I know you are the perfect gentleman," Tory says.

"I promise to be a gentleman," I say.

I wrap my arm around Tory as we walk to the elevator. She pushes the button for the elevator. "Do you get away from the pack like this often?" Tory asks me.

"Actually, no, I do not. I cannot even think of the last time I went out on my boat," I say.

"You should take time for yourself more, Alpha," Tory says.

"You sound like Tee," I say.

"Well, Tee is right. You deserve to have time to yourself," Tory says.

"Maybe you can make sure I get away more," I say.

"Well, I will consider it one of my jobs as your physician," Tory says.

"How about one of your jobs as the special lady in my life?" I say.

"Special lady, that sounds like a hard job. Are you sure I am the right person for that?" Tory asks.

The elevator door opens, and we step onto it. I hit the button for our floor. When the door closes, I slide up close to Tory, pushing her against the elevator wall. I touch her face and look into her eyes. "You are the perfect one for me,” I say, leaning down to her lips.

"Well, I guess if my Alpha thinks I am the one for the job, then I am," Tory says.

Our lips touch, and I pull her close to me. My hand is tugging at her waist as her hand lies on my chest. My entire body is on fire for her. I cannot think of a time when I have felt this much fire in me when close to a woman. She makes me feel alive.

The elevator door opens. I don't want to let go of her. "I think this is us," Tory says.

"Yeah, I think so," I say.

I stare into her eyes for a moment as the elevator door starts to close. I hit the open door button, and we step off the elevator. I hold her hand as we walk to our room. I hope she does not think I am doing this just to sleep with her. It is not my intention. I want time with her away from everyone so I can get to know her.

I swipe the door key and open the door. I hold the door, letting her go into the room first. "Wow! This room is spectacular!" Tory exclaims.

She walks through the room. There is a massive tub as you walk in with mirrors around it. She sits on the side of the tub. "This is amazing. I am going to soak in this all night," she says.

"This suite has two bedrooms, so I don't have to sleep on the floor," I say, smiling.

"Hmmm, what if I want to share a bed with you," Tory says.

I sit down on the side of the tub with her. "Well, I guess I might let you sleep in the same bed with me as long as you promise to behave," I say.

"No promises, Michael," Tory says. She touches my face, her fingers running through the scruff of my beard. I close my eyes and enjoy the moment.

"Michael, I hate to interrupt this moment, but I am starving," Tory says.

I open my eyes and look at her. "I will order us something to eat," I say.

"Please, I have no idea what to get; just order me something," Tory says.

"Okay, I will take care of you," I say.

I pick up the phone in our room and order our food. I am not paying attention to Tory while I make sure I get everything we need to be undisturbed for the rest of the night. "Tory, do you want wine?" I turn to ask her.

"I don't usually drink, but wine would be nice," Tory says. I order a bottle of wine with our food. I hang up the room phone. I reach into my pocket to check in on the pack and realize I left my phone on the boat. I am sure they can survive one night without me.
