Chapter 306 Departure
After paying the rent to Miss Brooklyn, Yuan and his wives talked with her for a moment before saying their goodbyes to her.
"It is goodbye then... please don't forget to visit me again if you have free time... I'll be happy to cook for you guys again." Miss Brooklyn said to Yuan and his wives as she waved at them.
Hearing this Anna Grace turned around and with a gentle smile on her face, she said, "We'll make sure to visit this place if we have free time, but for now goodbye..."
"Goodbye, Mr. Yuan. And have a safe trip to the Capital."
"You also take care of yourself and the Inn, Miss Brooklyn," Yuan replied with a smile before walking out of the building with his wives and Leah.
"Such a polite group of young people, nowadays we don't see often such good behavior among the younger generation... Although we met not long ago I'll miss their presence in my Inn..." Miss Brooklyn mumbled in a low voice with a strange smile on her face, as she looked at the disappearing figure of Yuan and his wives and Leah.
After Yuan and his wives left the Dandelion Inn, they immediately headed towards the horse stable where their horses were as well and their carriage was also parked there.
After walking for a minute, they arrived at the horse stable and retrieved their horses and the carriage after paying a maintenance fee to the owner of the stable.
The owner also helped Yuan in hitching the horses to the carriage and once he finished, he said, "Young man, your carriage is ready to drive."
"Thanks for your help, you saved us quite a lot of time," Yuan said to the owner with a smile on his face.
"It was nothing, no need to appreciate." The Owner of the stable replied before heading back to his work.
Once the owner left, Yuan and his wives as well as Leah got inside the carriage while Lily as usual took the driver's seat.
After sitting in the driver's seat, Lily looked back at her mother, and asked, "So, are we getting out of this city directly or should we visit the Hunter Association before we set out towards the capital?"
"There's no need to visit the hunter association now, dear. Drive the carriage directly towards the city gate, we don't want to waste our time as the sun is already out." Anna Grace replied with a smile.
In her opinion visiting the hunter association will be time-consuming, and she doesn't want to waste her time visiting the hunter association as they have a very long journey ahead of them. And thus she chooses not to visit the hunter association.
"I understand. Let's go!" Lily nodded, and the carriage gently began to move forward.
As the carriage began to run down the streets, many people looked at the carriage with a surprised look on their faces as they immediately recognized Lily's face as one of the rumored unparalleled beauties.
Seeing Lily driving a carriage carriage, they had a surprised look on their faces and began to whisper with each other.
"Hey isn't that one of the rumored unparalleled beauties? Why is she driving that carriage?" A random woman spoke as she pointed her finger at the moving carriage.
"Hmmmm... it's her! It's indeed her! I saw her when her husband beat the shit out of the City Lord as well as his son.
"It's definitely her. I can't forget that beautiful face even if I want to, she was smiling when her husband inhumanly tortured the father and son duo."
"Don't be swayed by her otherworldly beautiful face. Behind that beautiful face, there is a cruel monster hidden."
"But why is she driving a carriage so fast?? More importantly, what's with this carriage? It's much larger compared to any other carriages I've seen?"
"They must be leaving this city and probably heading somewhere where they can find more opportunities to grow strong," An elderly person spoke in a calm voice gazing at the moving carriage, he continued, "After all they're hunters, they can't stay in one place for long before moving to somewhere else looking for strong monsters to fight and get stronger as fast as possible."
"But they beat the City Lord and his son like a punching bag yesterday before torturing them inhumanely, and now they're leaving this city? Is this real?"
The people continued with their whispers with one another as the carriage moved passed them.
Shortly after, they arrived at the city gate and they quickly passed the gate as there weren't many people waiting to go out of the city or enter the city, which saved them quite a lot of time.
"Hey, wasn't that just now one of the rumored unparalleled beauties? She is driving the carriage? Are they leaving the city?" One of the soldiers asked the other as she recognized Lily's face, as it was very hard for anyone to forget such a beautiful face.
"It seems like it. After all, of them this City is too small for them compared to the bigger cities outside our kingdom." The other soldier nodded and replied.
The two soldiers glanced at the carriage with a peculiar expression on their faces as it moved away from them.
It seemed like an instant, but the carriage was getting smaller and smaller until finally, it was out of their line of sight.
As the carriage continued to move at an incredible speed for more than five hours, Yuan suddenly turned to see his mother, and asked, "Mom, is there any village ahead where we could spend the night safely?"
"Hmmm, let me think for a moment." Anna Grace then put a pondering expression on her face and thought for a moment.
After thinking for a moment, Anna Grace looked at her son with a smile, and said, "If I remember correctly, there is quite a large village ahead which is far larger than the the Pinebrook village."
"Is that true? Then, we'll spend the night in that village." Yuan asserted that lodging in a village offers greater safety than camping in the wilderness.
Unfortunately for him, his mother's next words will crush his expectations.
"However, we won't be staying in any village tonight."
"And why is that? Is there any problem with the village?"
"Well, there is no problem with the village or with the villagers. It's just that the village is pretty far, more than 400 miles to be exact and we won't able to get there." Before Anna Grace could answer, Lily shouted from the driver's seat.contemporary romance
"Is that so? I thought there was a problem with the village and the villagers. It seems my guess is wrong." Yuan felt relieved knowing that there was no problem with the village or the villagers, or it would be very difficult for them to cross the village.
Then he said, "It seems we have no choice but to camp outside in the wild."
"Why would you want to spend the night in a village?" Is there a particular reason for this?" Emma, who had been silent the entire time, suddenly questioned as to why Yuan desired to spend the night in a village.
"Well, there's no specific reason. I just don't want to be attacked by monsters at night, that's all." Yuan nonchalantly replied.
When Anna Grace heard her son's statement, she smiled and said, "Well, that's a problem we have to deal with. And it's not like we're incapable of defeating any monster."
Since powerful ferocious monsters went rampant at night, there was a very high chance that powerful monsters would intrude upon their camping sight while they were asleep.
It happened to many hunter parties or numerous merchant groups that set up a camp at night, numerous deaths have occurred due to this.
Although until now they've never encountered such a situation before, but since the monsters ahead will be far stronger than what they've encountered Yuan is quite worried about his family's safety.
They continued their conversation as their carriage continued to move at the same pace as previously.
Sometimes later, Lily Suddenly stopped the carriage without any warning and Leah who was sitting beside him crashed into him.
"Sorry! I was caught off-guard..." She immediately apologized to Yuan for crashing into him, her cheeks turned red feeling a little embarrassed.
"It's fine, it wasn't your fault." He said with a smile.
Then he looked toward Lily, and asked, "What is it, Lily? why did you stop the carriage without any warning?"
"Sorry for not warning you... But a large boar is blocking the road." Lily quickly replied, pointing her finger at the large five-foot-tall boar that was staring at their carriage with a furious glint in his eyes.
"Is that so? Then let me take care of it for you." Yuan then quickly got out of the carriage and immediately retrieved his sword from his system storage.
"You guys stay here, it will only take a few seconds to defeat this beast." Yuan suddenly dashed toward the boar, alerting it. His speed was so fast that except for Xi Meili no one was able to see him, and in the blink of an eye he arrived in front of the boar.
Without wasting a single second Yuan swung his sword vertically, and his sword suddenly glowed in blue—
"One Sword One Strike!"
