MR. WOLF'S SECRETARY: A SIDEKICK ROMANCE

Chapter CHAPTER 23

After the first time, they made love in every nook of the apartment and as days passed by, it was no longer meant to satisfy their carnal desires. Blair's feelings toward Jacob couldn't be controlled anymore and sometimes she's hurting like hell because she wanted more. She wanted him to become hers forever but she knew it was impossible! They moved in different circles and it would be a hassle to be branded as a gold-digger.

Every time she's feeling down, she wanted to talk with someone like Jenny or Tracy but they were busy. Jenny was out of the country for her modeling stints. They never talk but she saw Jenny's face on a magazine and once again there were write-ups about her on how she managed for an epic comeback. For Tracy, the woman was crazy about Mobile Legends and couldn't be disturbed whenever she's home.

She's alone, lonely, and miserable. Just like other women, she used sex as a sign of love. It was pathetic when she settled for less than she deserved, however, she couldn't live without him. She was used to him, attached to him, and she promised to do anything that would secure her position.

Her heart, body, and soul screamed for him to love her back but Jacob was blind and deaf to her wishes. Or maybe he was contented with their situation...as fucking buddies!

"A penny for your thoughts?"

"Tracy! I thought you're not coming," she exclaimed when Tracy showed up in Makchang, their usual hangout place.

Tracy pouted her lips and replied, "He can't play for several days."

"Is he a good player?" Blair asked. She used to play the game before but she stopped due to massive flirting while on the game.

"One of the best!"

"May I see his profile?" She requested but Tracy was hesitant to show her phone and she narrowed her eyes at the woman. "Are you hiding something from me?" Then, she snatched the phone from Tracy's hand. Immediately, she opened the game applications and waited for a few seconds for it to load, then she checked Tracy's history and clicked her latest game. "Mark?"

"It's another Mark." Tracy became defensive when she explained. Deep in her heart, she expected that it was her ex-boyfriend.

"Are you sure?" Blair doubted. "Yes!"

"I trust you, Tracy. You always have a good head on your shoulder so I know that you won't go back to the person who hurt you in the past,” she advised.

"Thanks for your concern, Blair. Without you, I just don't know. Well, so much about me, how have you been? Did Jacob treat you right?"

"I have nothing against him," she replied.

"Hmmm, that's good to hear. Just guard your heart well," she reminded Blair to be cautious around Jacob. After all, that man belonged to a clan of philanderers!

After having their favorite ramen and samgyupsal at Makchang, the duo returned to the apartment with the half-gallon ice cream they bought nearby. Blair took a deep breath when they approached the apartment because she missed the air around the apartment.

"Now that we're here, perhaps you can be honest now," Tracy announced before she turned on the latest model of Devant.

"Are you trying to tell me that I wasn't honest earlier?"

"Oh common, Blair! I know you lied about Jacob," Tracy stated. Blair must have assumed that she wouldn't notice the sadness in her eyes whenever she mentioned Jacob's name.

Blair stared at Tracy for a moment, then she smiled brightly. "You're imagining things, Tracy. With Jacob, what you see is what you get," she insisted.

"Liar," Tracy also insisted that Blair hid something. "But okay, I can accept it now that you don't want to tell me yet. After all, it's your life and choices."

"I like him, I mean, I love him already."

Tracy burst into laughter when finally, Blair admitted the truth. "No, you've been in love with him even before you become his mistress," she said.

Blair chose to be silent because Tracy was right. When she worked as his secretary for a few months, she was already smitten with Jacob. "I don't know if I should go on or stop now," she said. Every day, she worried that he would know her secret and it would bloody for sure.

"Just follow your heart," she advised.

"This time I will."

Blair promised herself that she would do everything to make her happy, and Jacob was included in the things or persons who could make her happy.

It was almost three in the afternoon when she received a call from an unknown number. "Hello?"

"Blair!"

Blair smiled when she recognized the voice on the other line even if they didn't talk or quiet sometimes. "Jenny?"

"I'll wait for you at the coffee shop," Jenny said and hung up.

"What's wrong?" Tracy asked as she noticed the expression on Blair's face. It was as if someone from the past showed up again. "Was it your mother?"

Blair shook her head and replied, "No, it's Jenny Gordon."

Due to the urgency of Jenny's voice, she had no choice but to leave Tracy alone in the apartment. She promised to come back but it would depend on her schedule. Next week would be hectic with Jacob based on the number of invitations they received.

She took a cab that would take her to Jenny's favorite coffee shop. When she arrived in the area, she wasn't comfortable. The place was so familiar, and she had to keep looking back for fear that Jacob might see her.

"Wow! Look at you!" Jenny was amazed at Blair's transformation and she couldn't believe her eyes that the goddess before her used to wear suits, tattoos and so bald. "I missed your bald head," she jested.

Blair smiled because she also found it hideous to be hairless. She had Carmela Gordon to thank for the removal of the tattoo. "Congrats," she said.

"Look," Jenny said and waved her finger with a diamond ring. "I'm getting married," she added.

Blair was genuinely happy for Jenny but she had a feeling that it was Brennan. The two were rumored to be dating after the famous businessman became a VIP client at Wolf Bank. "Who is the lucky man?" She asked. Jenny craned her neck to scan the entire coffee shop and when she saw them, she waved at him. "He's coming," she said.

Blair didn't bother to see who it was because she was positive that it was Brennan but when her nose caught something on the wind, she panicked. She could never be wrong about his signature fragrance and rummaged her head for a way out. "I have to use the powder room," she said but before she could stand up, he arrived.

"Sit down, Jacob," Jenny ordered his cousin because she wanted to introduce the beautiful woman who used to be his secretary before.

"You look familiar," Brennan announced when he got the chance to see the woman's face. He couldn't remember where he met Jenny's friend he was positive that they met before.

Jenny was amused at Blair's discomfort but she wanted to play cupid for Jacob and Blair. "Have you been to Jacob's office before?" she asked her fiancé.

"Yes of course!"

"That's why she's familiar because she used to work there as his secretary, well, she was bald before but her hair is growing now," Jenny continued whereas Jacob and Blair were staring daggers at each other.
