Chapter 3

3 Scandal

Amelia was hurt, but she tried not to show it. William was showing how petty he was. Without waiting anymore, she went back to her car and drove off.

The world was wide but in reality, Amelia only had a place she could call home. Lea.

Lea was her home. She could trust her to have her back anytime, and right now, Lea was the only person she could meet.

While trying very hard not to go over her speed limit, Amelia drove carefully to Lea’s. She heaved a sigh of relief as Lea opened the door. She could finally get a proper rest after roaming about the whole day.

Lea looked sullen when she opened the four, and her voice was groggy. She had been sleeping, and Amelia was sorry for waking her.

“Can I crash here for a few days?” Amelia asked and Lea nodded rubbing her eyes. She opened the door wide and helped Amelia with her baggage.

Immediately Amelia stepped in, she knew Lea never changed. The whole living room was scattered with different things ranging from clothes, pizza boxes, bottles, and many more things all over the place. She was enjoying life as a spinster.

“What would you like to take?” Lea asked after dropping the bags. “Tea, coffee, water?” She offered Amelia a smile, spreading her arms dramatically.

“Is there nothing like Alcohol in your question?” Amelia smiled back, squinting her eyes.

For Amelia to spend a few days with her, Lea guessed something was wrong. However, with her request for alcohol, Lea knew it could be worse than she imagined.

Ever since she got married, Amelia cut back on drinking. She poured everything into the marriage and did her best to take good care of her health.

“Okay, spill it. Why are you drinking? You stopped ever since you got married. You did.t want anything to mess with your health per adventure you get pregnant or anything.”

Now, Lea had gotten them both two canned beers. She then came to sit on the sofa with Amelia. Crossing one of her legs, she let the other dangle and put a hand behind Amelia.

Amelia let out a short laugh. “That’s all in the past.” Then she gulped the can and broke the news to Lea. “I’m divorcing Williams.”

“Oh dear.” Lea immediately enveloped her in a hug. She knew how much effort Amelia had poured into the marriage and how much she loved William. It must have been a tough decision to make.

“I sent him the papers this morning. You know, he went back to her. Chloe.”

Now, Amelia was trying her best not to cry. She sniffed, and Lea gently patted her back.

“How could he go back to her? Didn’t she abandon him earlier?” Lea was shocked.

Before Amelia got married to William, he was in a relationship with Chloe. However, due to some business reasons, Chloe’s dad didn’t approve of their relationship and for this reason, he sent Chloe abroad, telling her to study more.

The breakup was abrupt, and both parties suffered. But William was pathetic. He moped around, drinking, partying, and doing all sorts of silly things before Amelia stepped in. She had liked him since forever, and wouldn’t watch him ruin himself because of a break–up

Slowly but steadily, Amelia helped William back on his feet, and soon he asked her to marry him. Lea was against the marriage, she knew Will was using Amelia as a rebound, but Amelia didn’t mind. She felt she could help him forget about Chloe. But now, everything was busted. Will was cheating on his wife with his ex–girlfriend.

“Yeah. She abandoned him, and I was a fool to think I could help him forget about her. I saw them yesterday at the hospital. They even shared a kiss.”

Now, Amelia couldn’t suppress it anymore. She sobbed, tightening her grip on the can. She was settling with the fact that she had lost William. Oh well, he was never hers to begin with.

One thing Amelia gained from the marriage was William never restricting her from spending. She had a black card that he had given her, and he encouraged her to get anything she wanted.

Amelia knew many women would kill to be in her position, but she was going to stop it all now. She refused to be humiliated anymore. But seeing the stunt William had pulled with Hibiscus Cafe, she knew it was a matter of time before her cards were frozen. She needed to find a job.

Lea knew Amelia wouldn’t have a problem when it came to getting a job or a partner. She was gorgeous with her large, twinkling eyes, her perfectly shaped oval face, her nude lips, and her banging body curves.

When they graduated two years ago, Amelia had graduated at the top of her class. The professors praised her for her brilliance. They knew she would make an excellent actress, movie director, and scriptwriter depending on whatever path she decided to take.

But the love–struck Amy had chosen to tend to William’s broken heart. She got so many job offers and rejected them and in the end, the only thing she did within their two years of marriage was voice acting. She had wanted flexible working hours, and voice acting could give her that. She only needed to audition and get the voice–over done. It worked for her.

“I’m sorry, sweetie.” Lea had no reason to apologize, but it was the next thing that came out of her mouth.“What do you plan on doing next?”

“Nothing much. I’ll just pour my energy into voice acting. I’ll take more gigs now.”

“Just start acting Amy. I can be your manager. Plus, you have striking looks and you’re talented. What more is necessary?” Lea started serious, but her question had a playful undertone to it.

“Well, I just want to take it slow now, and I’ll start with voice acting, okay?”

Lea only nodded. At least, she would try something. It was better than sitting on her hands. For the rest of the night, they talked, drank, and shared random stories with most from their college days.

The next day, William woke with the other side of the bed cold. Now it dawned on him it wasn’t a prank. For Amelia not to return home, meant she was bent on the divorce. He needed a reason to call her. He had to think of something.

After taking his bath, William picked up his phone to call Amelia, but he got a call instead. It was from Chloe.

“Help me, William. I need your help.” Her voice was rushed, and she sounded desperate.

“What’s wrong, baby? Calm down and talk to me.” William was surprised. What was the emergency for her to call him sounding so desperate?

William kept whispering sweet nothing to her in a bid to get her calm, and soon she was. Then she explained what it was that happened.

It turned out there was footage of Chole circulating the internet. One was when she got into the ambulance, and the other was in the hospital room.

She was being called out for using the ambulance at the mall when the only thing she had was a scare. Then, she didn’t only use the ambulance, but she was also dating a married man.

Chole was not only in the middle of a scandal, but she was also being trolled online.
