Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife

Chapter 4: A Kiss Ruined his Composure

"Do you know what you're talking?" Brooklyn frowned and asked with a stern tone. Her confident look made him doubtful. Diana chuckled. "Let me join the Powell Group, and I'll secure your collaboration with Mr. and Mrs. Hill!"

"You won't suffer loss from this bargain, I guarantee it." Diana was certain that he would not decline. No entrepreneur would decline such a great opportunity. "Do have a second thought, Mr. Powell!" Harper reminded him with a low voice. To him, that woman was just bluffing to approach Brooklyn by all means.

Brooklyn waved his hand and wrinkled his eyebrows. He thought he knew people well, but he actually had the illusion that he could not understand the woman before him at all. "Then why do you want to assist the Powell Group?" he asked coldly. Before making the reason clear, he did not want another uncertain factor to exist near him.

Diana stood up and supported herself by placing her hands on the office desk. She slowly came closer to him and blinked her big watery eyes. "Because...I like Mr. Powell! A person in a favorable position will gain special advantages, don't you think so?" She sounded seductive and graceful. Brooklyn could smell a rush of faint fragrance towards him. Brooklyn did not move and he slightly retrieved his astute look.

Harper's eyes almost dropped from his face when he saw that. Can anyone tell him where did this lady come from? Isn't she afraid that she will get beaten up and chased out when she seduced their president? However, in fact, Brooklyn did not react at all, he was even slightly addicted to the woman's body fragrance.

"Alright, I agree." Brooklyn consented, and that made Harper even more shocked. Is the sun coming out from the west tomorrow? Diana smiled without showing any surprise. "Mr. Powell is a wise person." "I have something to talk to Miss Miller alone, please leave here first," Brooklyn said to Harper. Although Harper did not know what he was thinking, he still left the office obediently and closed the door. Diana sat on her place once again and crossed her legs. She said frivolously, "Could it be Mr. Powell has laid your eyes on me and want to have a date with me?"

Diana smiled, but she was feeling a little nervous. She did not feel that much uneasy when there was another person around. Now that she was stared straight by Brooklyn, she felt slightly anxious and panic, as if the air around her had been sucked out. She tried to make her smile more natural to avoid giving her true emotions away.

Brooklyn suddenly stood up and slowly went to her. "Is Miss Miller always that confident?" He smiled and put one hand on the back of the chair, imitating her behavior just now and stooped. Diana was instantly flooded by his masculine aura and sensing his hot breaths near her ear, she felt even more nervous. A panic look flashed across her usual confident face.

She tried to calm herself down. "Yeah! Or else...how could I stay by Mr. Powell's side?" Yet her smile looked very unnatural. "It's my pleasure to be liked by a beauty like Miss Miller." Diana gritted her teeth and felt that Brooklyn did that on purpose. Could it be he was taking revenge on her actions just now?

Diana's eyes rolled and she suddenly put her arm around Brooklyn's neck with a smile. She kissed his lips in a quick manner and said, "Do you like this kiss, Mr. Powell?" Brooklyn was completely startled. Besides the crazy night six years ago, he had had no such intimate contact with any other woman.

Seeing the unnatural look flashed across Brooklyn's face, Diana let out a cunning smile. As she expected, Brooklyn was actually that naïve towards romantic relationship. A single kiss could ruin his composure Diana had been a conservative woman deep down. Except the night six years ago, she had not approached too many men all these years. She wondered whether it was because of the trauma from six years ago or it was something else.

Yet she realized she had been much bolder when she met Brooklyn. Also, she always had the urge to chuckle when she saw the embarrassment on his face. Brooklyn captured her smile and he could not help but feel annoyed. How dare she make fun of him! Before Diana could react, her lips were kissed hard.

The abrupt kiss made her widened her eyes. She pushed his chest but she was only a woman after all, and her strength could not match his. Brooklyn seized her hands and kissed her harder. He only let her go when Diana nearly suffocated in the end.

Brooklyn stared at her who looked a little disturbed and her flushed face, he could not help but smile. "You don't even know how to breathe during kissing, and here you're pretending to be a master of love." Diana shot him a glare and wiped her mouth. "I can't believe Mr. Powell is a guy who likes to take advantage of others."

Hearing that, Brooklyn smiled while raising his eyebrow. "Didn't Miss Miller say you're fond of me first? I'm just returning the favor. Plus, it's just a kiss, isn't it?" Diana gritted her teeth with hatred when she heard him sounded so seriously. She had actually set herself up? She wanted to take back what she thought of him before. Brooklyn Powell was not a president naïve in romantic relationship, but a wolf in sheep's clothing.

After glaring at him, she left the office without looking back. Harper who had been standing outside smiled and greeted her when he saw her coming out. Yet Diana did not even glimpse at him. She left the spot in rage. Harper was in a daze. What on earth had the president said to Miss Miller?

But thinking back Brooklyn's behavior and Diana admiring him with love, light seemed to dawn on him. It must be Brooklyn being too harsh when he rejected her and Diana's pride was hurt. Harper felt convinced the more he thought of that.

Meanwhile in the office, watching Diana escaped from the spot, a smile broke out on Brooklyn's lips and he mumbled to himself. "Interesting." Diana's vague fragrance still lingered in the office. Brooklyn who had not slept for a long while finally felt a little tired. He lied on the table and fell deeply asleep shortly.

Harper pushed the door open and entered. He realized Brooklyn had fallen asleep on the table and he was snoring gently. Seeing that nearly made him cry.

God knows how many days had the president not closed his eyes! Even ironman could not withstand that! In order to not disturb him, Harper sneaked out of the office and cautiously closed the door. He sought for a quiet place and made a call to the number that was one of the few phone numbers in the contact list.

Diana did not go home straight away after she left the company. She went to a Starbucks café instead. A man clad in suit and leather shoes who was wearing a pair of glasses was reading a newspaper in a relaxed state near the window at the second floor. He had ordinary looks and no one would notice him in the crowds.

Diana went to the second floor and walked straight towards that man. She sat opposite to him and asked directly, "Still no news?"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
