Chapter 40
“No, I was only joking. You keep your money, except for buying those necessities for our life.”
Hymes smiled. “The car has been bought, and I can send you to work next week after the formalities are completed.”
“So fast?”
When Hymes said it would take a while to buy the car, Giselle thought it might be at least several months. Unexpectedly, he had already bought the car.
“I happened to have time today, so I asked my colleague to help me.”
“Is the one who delivered me food?”
Hymes paused and then nodded, “That’s right. It’s him.”
“He is a nice colleague. Shall we invite him to dinner at home someday?”
Giselle suggested seriously, “After all, he brings me meals every day. My company is so far away…
Leo, who passed by Giselle’s company every day, sneezed loudly at home….
Hymes smiled calmly. He lied casually, “I will invite him when free, but he has been very busy recently. I am not sure when he will be free.”
“Why don’t you invite him when he’s free? But he’s already so busy, and you still ask him to bring me meals every day. You
are too much!”
“I will thank him. Don’t worry. I will treat him well.”
After all, Leo could get generous bonuses for sending meals. The amount of salary that ordinary people couldn’t earn throughout the year.
Leo was even willing to deliver several times a day.
“How much is the car? Is it expensive? Did you pay it in one go? Or did you pay a down payment?”
Hymes‘ eyes flickered, “No, I didn’t pay a down payment. My parents helped me.”
“Your family’s conditions are pretty good…” Giselle said her thoughts truthfully, “My family’s situation is not that good.”
Whether Hymes would mind or not, Giselle felt she should tell him, “My family is in a small southern city, and my parents‘ conditions are average. They can only afford me to go to college. But I am very grateful to them. If I want anything else, I must fight to get them alone.”
Of course, the family background was crucial. But Giselle thought that she had done the best for herself.
Hymes looked at her intensely. He reached out and rubbed the top of her head, “You are already very good, even better than many girls I have seen.”
“I would be embarrassed if you praised me like that… I know myself well and still need to keep working hard anyway.”
“I’ll be with you from now on.”
Hymes‘ promise was more reassuring than the empty sweet that Giselle had ever heard.
Just like a traveler walking in the night, there was moonlight in front of her to illuminate the way. She knew that she was not alone on the journey. She was accompanied by the bright moonlight.

Chapter 40
Even though the things that happened in the company today made Giselle uneasy, she was only worried but not scared.
There would be a solution to deal with it. No matter what she encountered, she would solve it.
Giselle thought Hymes was also annoyed by his work, so she didn’t tell him about her unhappiness.
Giselle deliberately got up early the next day and went to the company earlier than usual. She looked at the video posted by Jenny’s online celebrities, and the data had already exceeded one million.
Giselle tried to continue to contact the platform, but the replies she got were similar.
Oscar’s video can’t be put on the platform again. Thinking that this kind of situation may happen again, Giselle was even more disturbed.
However, as soon as Jenny arrived at the company, she began to show off yesterday’s results. Even Mr. Baker praised her for her excellent performance this time, saying she would be rewarded.
Jenny’s eyes were full of complacency. She thought she had defeated Giselle this time.
Mickey even kissed Jenny on the face in front of the whole company, “Baby, you are awesome. I knew you would become better and better. You are better than some people!”
It was apparent he was referring to Giselle. Everyone secretly watched Giselle’s reaction. Fortunately, Giselle had been able to hide her emotions and anger. Even if there were countless worries in her heart, she didn’t show a trace of them.
Because Mr. Baker praised Jenny, she invited many colleagues to have lunch at noon. Other people also went to find food. one after another, so Giselle was the only one left in the office.
She could reveal her true feelings when no one around was paying attention. The worry in her eyes was evident when Leo came to send her lunch.
As Hymes secretary, Leo had piercing eyes. Giselle couldn’t hide her emotions in front of him.
Leo immediately asked calmly, “Ms. Ostry, have you encountered any troubles at work?”
“Did you see it? It’s nothing. It’s just a small problem. Please don’t tell Hymes. I don’t want him to worry!”
“Maybe he can help you share or solve your problems if you let him know.”
Giselle smiled, “He works in the insurance industry. The two of us are in completely different industries. Even if he wants to help me, he is not capable. I don’t want him to worry about my affairs.”
“So, can you tell me what happened? Maybe I can give you some advice.”
Thinking of the relationship between Leo and Hymes, Giselle hesitated and then told him what had happened in the company these two days.
“It seems we have to start with the platform.” Leo gave his analysis and judgment, “Only they can help you solve it and find out who is behind the complaint.”
“You’re right, But it’s not that easy to investigate. Forget it. I’ll take care of it. Please keep it secret for me, and don’t tell Hymes!”
“OK. I won’t tell him.”
Leo had just promised to keep her secret in front of Giselle. When he turned around and entered the elevator, he dialed Hymes‘ number immediately.
When he went downstairs, he had already reported everything Giselle told him to Hymes.
*Boss, only you can help Mrs. Giles solve this problem.”

“She should have been maliciously excluded by her colleagues.”
Hymes was in a long suffocating silence.
Then, he started to talk. His voice was as cold as ice, “Let’s solve it quickly.”
Giselle was inspired by Leo’s reminder and thought of how to solve the problem.
When everyone returned from lunch, she had already contacted the platform for specific information about the complaint.
She needed to know why Oscar’s video was complained about and where much complaint data came from.
Unfortunately, due to confidentiality factors, there was no way to obtain relevant information on where the complaint came from.
Giselle glanced at the proud Jenny. Giselle planned to spend some money to hire a third–party agency to investigate the specific information she wanted.
She very much suspected that the incident this time had something to do with Jenny. Only after she got the evidence could she guarantee that her interests would not be harmed.
