Chapter 678
Jimmy was puzzled.
Why was Cynthia looking at him like that?
Cynthia cleared her throat and hinted at Jimmy to give her the biggest card.
Jimmy looked back at her as if asking, “You want me to cheat?”
Cynthia nodded
She did not like cheating, but she really wanted to know who Matthew liked and why he had not confessed seriously. After all, he
had everything–looks, physique, family background, and qualities.
His success rate in confessing should be a hundred percent, right?
Jimmy awkwardly cleared his throat and started dealing the cards. Whether intentionally or accidentally, Cynthia ended up with
the smallest card, and Matthew got the largest.
Cynthia fell silent.
Riley was also surprised by Jimmy’s dealing this time and asked, “Truth or Dare, Cyn?”
“Truth.” Cynthia would not easily choose Dare.
“What would be your reaction if a friend confessed to you?” Matthew’s tone was calm, as if asking an ordinary question.
Cynthia hesitated, “A friend?”
“Like Mitchell Jimmy, me, Linus, and others.” Matthew fiddled with his playing card, feeling slightly nervous.
“I probably wouldn’t think much about it. If I like them, I’ll accept; if I don’t have feelings for them, I’ll reject them.” Cynthia thought
for a moment and gave her current answer.
“Would
you avoid the

“Why would I avoid them?”
Matthew put down the card and gestured for Jimmy to deal again. At this point, he realized that asking Truth–or–Dare questions
had no effect on Cynthia’s thought process as she probably would not overthink it
Cynthia did not dwell on the question much; she just found it a bit strange.
Jimmy dealt the cards again to avoid making the cheating too obvious, and this time, he dealt randomly.
However, nobody expected that the largest card ended up with Joshua, and the smallest... was with Cynthia again.
Like the previous round, Cynthia chose Truth.
Joshua glanced at Matthew and decided to ask a straightforward question as he knew Matthew had feelings for Cynthia, “It
Matthew confesses his feelings for you, would you accept it?”
Jimmy, Riley, and Mitchell were stunned!
Only Matthew remained composed.
“Joshua, you shouldn’t ask such questions. Captain has someone he likes,” Cynthia warned Joshua
“It’s fine. You just need to answer honestly based on your true feelings,” Joslum persisted.
Cynthia glanced at Matthew and answered, “No.”
If she had said yes, it would seem like she was deliberately stirring up trouble. Matthew had someone he liked, so she could not
give a careless answer.
Joshua breathed a sigh of relief.

Matthew remained calm, but the others were concerned about whether he still had the courage to continue his confession.
After all, Cynthia’s answer was like a clear response.

“Let’s continue,” Matthew remained unaffected as if he had grown accustomed to it.
Jimmy was nervous. He gave the smallest card to Matthew and the largest to Mitchell.
Knowing it was another round of truth, Mitchell thought carefully and asked, “Why haven’t you confessed to the person you like?
Matthew glanced at Cynthia and casually replied, “I’m afraid she doesn’t like me. I’m afraid she’d avoid me after the confession,
and we wouldn’t even be friends anymore.”
Cynthia fraze when she heard that, recalling what Shirley had said before.
“If you genuinely like someone, you might be a bit cautious. Without confessing, you lear missing the opportunity; but if you
confess, you worry that you won’t even remain friends after the rejection, and you’ll eventually drift apart.”
Could Matthew be feeling the same way?
