Mother

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Her family used money to suppress the incident.

She harmed a life under the guise of a game, escaping legal consequences afterward.

I posted the surveillance footage of my mother’s drowning and the fan’s revelations online.

It quickly sparked widespread discussion and spread, rendering the Gould and Chandler families‘ attempts to delete posts and suppress trending topics futile.

With the maid’s evidence, it could be proven that Mia knew her actions could lead to death, yet she proceeded anyway, remaining indifferent when she discovered my mother drowning, failing to provide timely rescue.

In the end, I won the case!

Mia was sentenced to three years, her reputation ruined, and her family’s business plummeted. While Ethan, Tom, and others were accomplices, considering it was their first offense, they were ultimately given one year of probation for two years.

Outside the courthouse, Ethan looked gaunt, no longer the image of a young master. He gazed at me with a grief–stricken face, “Sienna, I’m sorry. I didn’t know Mia was that kind of person.”

“No! You’re just like her. You never took human life seriously, nor did you treat my mother and me as equals. In your eyes, we were just your subordinates.”

“You never loved me. You just enjoyed controlling me, relished in my foolishly revolving around you, giving everything for you. People like you don’t deserve forgiveness!”

Ethan hung his head, unable to face me.

I didn’t bother saving more to him, leaving without looking back.

Ethan tried to find me several times afterward, but I ignored him.

It’s better if we don’t meet again; otherwise, I fear I might not be able to resist killing him!

After the case concluded, I moved to another city.

I reported on several sensational news stories.

In these thrilling yet ordinary days, I gradually found my life’s value.

I never saw Ethan again, but I heard he developed severe insomnia, relying on medication to sleep. A year later, I received a tip to investigate a hit–and–run case. The suspects were Tom and his group. After half a month of tracking and investigation, I finally caught their slip during a drunken

confession, uncovering evidence of them killing someone while drunk driving and finding a driver to

take the blame.

They were still on probation when they committed such a grave mistake. Their crimes were compounded, and Tom, along with the rich kids he often hung out with, were all arrested. So you see, wrongdoing really does have consequences.

Those who play with fire will ultimately burn themselves!

The End.
