Chapter 96: Not Here To Pick Her Up

The Cooper Group.

After Hailey and Sandra had “left” the company, Wesley went straight to the garment department.

Utilizing the seal, he successfully commandeered all rights and took over all affairs of the department that very afternoon.

At the same time, he got his hands on a top–secret file

Joey’s demeanor visibly relaxed after seeing the contents of the file.

He patted his chest, a weight seemingly lifted from his shoulders.

“Hailey must be awakening soon. Shall we head to the hospital now?”

“No need.”

Wesley’s expression remained as steely and impassive as ever, his face shrouded in an icy veneer.

“Let’s go to the police station.”

Joey was initially taken aback but quickly reacted.

“Indeed, Mrs. Cooper has been there for three hours. We should probably check on her, ensure she isn’t too frightened.”

Wesley glanced at him.

Joey was perplexed. “What?”

After a brief pause, a realization dawned on him.

“Right, I doubt she’s frightened.”

Sandra sat in the interrogation room, having already seen a rotation of five officers.

Each employed different interrogation techniques, though the questions were largely the same.

Sandra responded seriously, “I have merely followed company procedures. There’s been no crime, nor any nefarious deeds as you describe.”

Her response remained consistent to every officer who took their turn.

Afterwards, she conserved her energy, choosing to remain silent.

Her stoic demeanor made the interrogation process arduous.

It was during the intermission that Harvey found an opportunity to step in.

“Sandra.”

Sandra glanced at him.

“Harvey, top of your class at the police academy, first in entry tests.

Since starting work, you’ve solved fifteen criminal cases, processed seventy–eight civil cases, and currently, fifty–six civil cases are pending on your docket…”

She looked up, a faint smile playing on her lips.

“Are you sure you want to waste time here?”

Harvey was astounded.

He knew her racing skills were top–notch.

He hadn’t expected her acumen to extend far beyond the ordinary

The cases Harvey dealt with were known only to his supervisors and not even to his colleagues.

Yet, Sandra knew, and she knew them precisely.

If someone had mentioned that Sandra was his college, he’d believe it.

“Sandra, how do you

Her smile remained, “So, you choose to waste time?”

“Please allow me to speak.”

Initially intending to tease, Harvey now didn’t harbor the slightest inclination.

He spoke with respect, as if reporting to a superior.

“I know you might not believe me when I say this, but your brother, Jagger, is going to plead for your behalf.”

“He hasn’t seen Hailey yet, for she hasn’t regained consciousness.”

“You can trust in your brother.”

Sandra was aware of his relationship with Jagger.

From the beginning, she could tell Harvey had come to tease her.

So as soon as he started speaking, she’d aimed to have him leave at the earliest.

But, Jagger is going to seek Hailey’s help?

She found hard to believe.

As far as she was concerned, her family members were a source of harm.

“Anyway, you must keep faith. The situation is not as challenging as it seems.”

Harvey gave her a smile and departed.

Sandra closed her eyes once more, recalling images of Jagger.

Her interactions with him were few, rendering her memories particularly stark.

Her lips curved in a scornful sneer.

To this day, she didn’t feel a deficit of brotherly love, nor did she crave it.

After revealing this information, Harvey felt c

though a massive weight had been lifted.

He had intended to get some food when suddenly his colleague summoned him.

“What’s happened?”

“Wesley has arrived.

Harvey was dumbfounded.

Harvey sighed, then followed his colleague outside.

Wesley and Joey arrived together.

Harvey approached them, “Wesley, you remember me?

Although the Reyes family was not at the peak in Geniston, Harvey had met Wesley before.

But Wesley, whose prowess once struck fear in the industry, had everyone, including Harvey’s father, treating him with utmost reverence.

Now, time had changed everything.

Wesley had been comatose for three years. His power had been dissolved. He was no longer as influential.

But that did not diminish Harvey’s admiration.

Wesley nodded at him, “Glad to have an acquaintance here.”

Harvey said, “Wesley, it’s not time yet, I fear…”

Wesley’s response was terse, “I’m not here to pick her up.

Harvey was bewildered.

Not to pick up his wife?

What could he possibly want?

Is he intend to wreck the police station?

This is too much!

“Check this.”

Wesley took the file from Joey and handed it to Harvey

Harvey and his colleague reviewed the document.

“This..”

Harvey’s eyes widened in shock.

Wesley had delivered evidence of years of crimes committed by Hailey, and other family members.

With these proofs, several of Harvey’s unresolved criminal cases could be swiftly closed.

He could rise instantaneously as a

$uper detective!

He glanced at his colleague and saw an excitement surpassing his own.

Clearly, the incriminating evidence would be sufficient to encourage overtime at the entire police station, and willingly so.

“Wesley…”
