Unconsciously, he tightened his grip.
Her body, emanating a light fragrance, was pulled closer.
The fragrance intensified.
It was diffusing between their breaths.
Soon, the fragrance was sucked into his heart.
Surrounding his heart, it is constantly entangled in circles.
His heart seemed to fight against this entanglement, pounding wildly.
In the tranquil night, his erratic and unsettling heartbeats vibrated to the point of numbness.
“Mr. Cooper.”
Her soft voice came from below his chin.
As Sandra spoke, her warmth toasted him.
His breathing grew erratic.
Unwittingly, the force in his hand intensified.
Her soft voice came again.
“Mr. Cooper, lie down now.”
Wesley’s back tensed.
“Hmm?”
Her tone, now laced with a hint of mockery, “The toxins are spreading rapidly.”
“I need to administer acupuncture.”
Wesley’s gaze became lucid in an instant
The next moment, he felt a warmth drop into his nose.
Instantly, the light in the room was turned back on.
He squinted reflexively.
In that moment, blood from his nose fell onto Sandra’s hand.
Wesley, “..”
He released her hand quickly and turned to wipe his nosebleed.
Sandra comforted, “A nosebleed is nothing to worry about.”
“Considering the strong medicines used during your medicated baths, nosebleeds are a normal reaction.” Silently cleaning up, Wesley then lay down on the bed.
He closed his eyes.
Sandra thought, if he could be frightened to death by a mere nosebleed, she would totally laugh at him.
The following day, Debra sent a message to all employees, saying she had arranged
Mason to settle the issues.

This announcement invigorated the employees.
They lauded Debra as the company’s lucky star.
When Sandra arrived at work, an uninvited guest had appeared at the company.
At first, everyone merely sensed him familiar.
But soon the identity of the visitor was revealed.
“Mason!”
“Look, it’s Mason!”
Before long, the lobby swelled with people.
No one was interested in work.
As Sandra and Wesley arrived to work, they saw this scene.
“It was Debra who negotiated with Mason.”
‘Debra is formidable!”
“She has proven a true powerhouse.”
“Mason seems quite cooperative, waiting here for Debra. We haven’t even begun negotiations, and we’re already holding the advantage.”
“Be grateful to Debra. She’s my idol now!”
Sandra directed Joey to drive to the parking garage, avoiding the congested area.
Joey grumbled discontentedly. “They should be grateful to Wesley. Now that Debra has seized the moment to claim credit, the shareholders will be impressed by her again.”
Sandra scoffed, “Are you suggesting she’s been stealing credit for years?”
Joey nodded affirmatively. “Madam, you are perceptive.”
Joey elaborated, “Much of the company’s collaborations and technology agreements were put in place by Mr. Cooper before his coma. All she had to do was sign them.”
The accolades belonged to Wesley but were stolen by Debra.
Anyone would bristle at
is injustice.
Yet after regaining consciousness, Wesley never bothered to mention these issues.
Sandra couldn’t help but give a thumbs–up.
“He’s got a high tolerance level.”
Wesley,
Joey, Madam, you make it sound like he’s a masochist.”
Sandra chuckled, “Haven’t you realize that he is?”
Joey,… Can he pretend that was never said?
After disembarking from the car, they headed to the private elevator.
But by the elevator, they encountered Mason’s agent.
“Mrs. Cooper, Mr. Cooper, Mason wishes to speak with you both.”

Sandra sneered, “Isn’t he here for Debra?”
She was voicing her displeasure.
Archie was embarrassed.
“We are here to talk to you and Mr. Cooper. Mason is waiting for you.”
Sandra turned to Joey.
“Arrange an available conference room.”
Joey immediately made a call.
Archie, grateful, ushered Sandra and Wesley away and hurriedly went to fetch Mason.
In the lobby, numerous employees gathered around Mason for autographs.
One called out loudly, “Mason, are you here to discuss the garment department’s matters with Debra?*
At this question, the room fell silent.
Mason glanced at his vibrating phone and looked up at Archie standing by the door.
With a dismissive smile, he responded, “When did I ever say I was here to see Debra?”
Those around were left speechless.
-If he wasn’t here for Debra, did that imply he came to pick a quarrel?
