Chapter 109: Feel Pity

“I might be late on that day.” Sandra said.

Upon hearing her words, Stacy was momentarily taken aback.

Previously, she didn’t care whether Sandra went or not.

But now, after realizing how capable she was, Stacy had become reliant on Sandra.

She felt that if Sandra went, she would feel much powerful.

Now, with Sandra saying this, she felt a tightening of every pore in her body.

“As the deputy director, you are the pillar of our department. If you aren’t there, others will look down on

us.”

Sandra said, “I might be half an hour late.”

The forum will start with speeches, which won’t be finished yet after half an hour.

“Alright then, but please remember to attend.”

Stacy had little faith in Sandra’s memory.

“Charles will be responsible for notifying me.”

Only then did Stacy feel reassured.

Until dinner, Sandra finally saw Wesley.

Due to the complexities of the garment department, Wesley was too busy.

During the meal, he took out the invitation card proactively.

“Will you go?

Sandra suddenly remembered that Wesley had played chess with Gary.

Wesley didn’t have a ranking at all.

Gary must have learned of his abilities then invited him,

“You are Gary’s honared guest now.”

Wesley said, “But I would rather give it to you.”

“How did you know I wanted to go?”

Wesley raised an eyebrow slightly, “Why did you want to go?”

Sandra was at a loss for words.

He didn’t know her purpose, nor did he know if it would be dangerous.

He just gave her the invitation card.

“Thank you.”

After a while, Sandra finally uttered those two words.

You’re welcome.”

Joey anxiously listened to their conversation.

Clearly, Wesley cared about Sandra and wanted to teach a lesson to Gary.

Why didn’t he just say it out loud?

Joey said, “Mrs. Cooper, there’s an art exhibition recently, which Mr. Cooper likes. Do you have time?”

Sandra had nothing else to do, so she nodded.

Wesley said, “It starts at 8 p.m.”

Sandra smiled, “Mr. Cooper, are you inviting me to a date?”

Wesley: “…..

He didn’t answer.

What a blockheaded man.

When Sandra finished eating and was about to stand up, Wesley suddenly spoke up, “Yes.”

Sandra: ??

After a while, she finally reacted.

This was in response to her question before.

It was a date.

“Mr. Cooper.”

“Yes?

Sandra suddenly smiled, “If I have time, I’ll give you a reflex arc check.”

Wesley frowned. “You think I’m slow to react?

Sandra countered, “Aren’t you?”

Wesley: ”

Joey couldn’t help but laugh out.

There were a lot of people at the art exhibition.

The exhibited paintings were from various renowned international artists.

So the contrast would be very distinct, which led fans arguing.

Sandra preferred abstract works, “This is quite exquisite, connecting the brain with the grass.”

“This is not grass.”

Not far away, a voice of disdain came.

Even if she didn’t turn around, she could tell who the voice belonged to.

Holly.

Sandra looked at Wesley, feeling helpless. “This is your own trouble, deal with it yourself.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Holly walked up to them.

In a critical tone, Holly said, “This is the brain, and those are cosmic nebulae!

Holly looked at Sandra with disdain, “Wesley, your level of appreciation has also declined.”

How would he choose such a village girl as his wife?

Sandra asked, “Do you know this painter? How do you know her thoughts?”

“Of course I know her. We were good friends when we were abroad.”

Sandra looked full of regret.

“You were friends? A good painter whose vision has been impaired. I’m afraid she won’t be able to paint better in the future.”

Holly’s face darkened, “Sandra, all you know is to be mean. What else do you know?”

“You don’t understand art at all. I guess you and Wesley have no common language, right?”

“It’s really pathetic! You won’t be together till the end.”

“Sandra, to be honest, I feel pity for you.”

Sandra turned her head to look at Wesley, “Mr. Cooper, do you feel pity for me?”

Wesley seemed impatient.

“Whether we will be together in the future are our own business and have nothing to do with you.”

He then retorted without any courtesy, “Besides, I feel pity for your friend. Having a friend like you who knows nothing about painting, I’m afraid every interaction with you is like receiving punishment.”

Holly’s eyes turned red.

“Wesley, how could you say that about me? You clearly know that I…‘

“The painter is here!”

The crowd suddenly surged forward, and it instantly became noisy here.
