More Than We Can Tell

Dad: Emma, I don’t like how things ended last night. I would appreciate a chance to talk to you. How about brunch? Just you and me? I can pick you up at 11.

I look at the clock.

It’s 10:00 a.m.

I turn off my phone.

I roll over.

When they knock at 11, I ignore them.

I don’t get out of bed all day.
