Moonlit Betrayal (Alpha Rick)

Chapter 108

Chapter 108

Jenna had anticipated that Scott would be agitated and panicked

And everything was under her control.

Jenna’s pale face bore a smile as she said, “You’re so eager to divorce me, it seems like all those vows of love we shared were just empty promises.”

Scott retorted, “Nonsense! Our marriage was a sham from the start, let alone any vows of love. Let’s just get divorced now!”

Jenna clicked her tongue and taunted. “I wonder what expression Layla would have if she saw her refined childhood sweetheart spewing foul language and was the kind of person who would abandon love so easily!”

Scott got even more furious at the mention of Lola.

He angrily asked, “How dare you say that? Did you say something to Layla? So that’s why she came to question me, right?

“What on earth do you really want, Jenna?! Are you doing this because you can’t stand to see us happy?

His eyes were cold, devoid of any former affection. “Let me make this clear to you, Layla and I are the ones who should be together. Our marriage was a mistake from the start, so let’s set each other free.”

After Jenna heard that, her expression wavered for a few seconds

-She had once envied Lola, including her relationship with Scott.

When they were younger, Scott’s status was already impressive.

Even as a teenage boy, he already had a remarkable appearance and outstanding achievements.

This gentle and refined boy next door became the secret crush of both Jenna and Lola.

However, Scott clearly showed more affection toward Lola, and liter their parents even arranged a marriage for them.

It was when nothing was given to Jenna that she erupted.

She pondered, I’ve thought many times that if my parents hadn’t been so blatantly biased, maybe I wouldn’t have taken this path. I always thought that by replacing Lola and taking what was hers for myself, it would truly belong to me. But now, this man before me, who I got married to, doesn’t even care about my injuries just because Lola is back. He just coldly demands me to get divorced. How absurd.

Jenna might have been ruthless, but it seemed that she wasn’t entirely unfeeling after all.

However, her eyes only betrayed a fleeting hint of sentimentality before being replaced by a deeper layer of meaning. Jenna asked, “Did you not have anything else you wanted to say to me besides demanding a divorce?”

“Nothing.” Scott responded with an unusually decisive and cold voice.

He despised the woman in front of him, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on why.

Perhaps it was because, for so many years, Scott, a man who prided himself on being extraordinary, had been deceived for over a decade.

It was humiliating for him. Scott knew that if this scandal got out and if he admitted that he had married the wrong woman, he would surely be ridiculed by others. He couldn’t stand that

Jenna chuckled sarcastically, “You really don’t like me at all, and you don’t care about me. I thought that you would at least not start by questioning and blaming me after seeing me injured

“It seems you’re quite heartless and ruthless. Would Layla even ke someone like you?”

She then spoke ambiguously. “Scott, you’re actually quite pitiful, you know. At least now you still have me, but if you divorce me, you’ll be left with nothing. Do you think Layla don’t know a thing just because she has lost her memory? She’s smarter than you think.”

Scott actually had his suspicions about that, but Jenna’s words made him even more certain of his feelings.

Lola had her suspicions, and it wasn’t just because of what Jenna said.

“So what? What are you trying to say?” Scott asked. He suspected Jenna had an ulterior motive.

He thought that Jenna must have had a purpose, as she never did anything that didn’t benefit herself.

Scott said, “You must have been up to something during the time you were missing. I don’t want to know about that, but I need to make it clear to you that I have no other demands except for a divorce.”

He had been looking for Jenna for a long time and had not found her until now.

If it weren’t for the fact that Scott hadn’t divorced yet, he would have already married Lola, not having to wait until now.

He was already feeling a sense of urgency, worried that Lola might change her mind if they didn’t get married soon. Scott was determined to marry Lola, though he wasn’t sure why Perhaps it was some kind of obsession.

It might be because only by marrying Lola could his wishes be fulfilled. Or put it another way, only by marrying Lola could, he prevent the spread of the fact that he had been deceived.

Jenna responded, “You want to divorce me to marry Layla? But have you considered that even if I divorce you, she might not want to be with you?

In other words, Layla doesn’t care about you at all right now. Can’t you see? Times have changed, and her affection for you is just a childhood sentiment. Do you really think it can last until now?

*Have

you forgotten about Dominick? Let me tell you the truth, even if Lola were had lost her memories, she wouldn’t forget about that man. In other words, you simply can’t compare to Dominick, and Layla’s final choice will still be him.”

Scott exclaimed, “Jenna!

“Don’t think I won’t hit you!”

Jenna’s words had struck a chord with him, and he asked angrily. What are you trying to say? Be direct. Don’t force me to get physical!

“Don’t think that just because we are married, I won’t do anything to you. Don’t forget you’ve deceived me for so many years! We are enemies!”

Jenna slightly smirked, having achieved her goal.

-She stated, “I can divorce you, but I have one condition.

“Don’t be too quick to refuse, Think about it. If I don’t divorce you, or if I got upset and went to tell Layla about our marriage, do you think she would still marry you? Do you think you two could still be together?

“I haven’t said anything to her today, and she probably has already had a quarrel with you, right? If I were to say we were married, she could immediately break off the engagement with you. Do you believe that?”

Jenna was confident as Scout had too many fears, but she had nothing to lose and was afraid of nothing.

He then said through clenched teeth, “Jenna, don’t go too far!”

Jenna smirked and replied, ‘Don’t get so worked up. My demand won’t be too high. Rest assured, as long as you do as I say, I promise I won’t tell Layla about our relationship.

“Moreover, I’ll help you explain things and smoothly get you through this crisis.”

Although Scott was angry, he knew that if Jenna didn’t help, he really had no way of explaining things to Lola.

He stated. “Go ahead, tell me what your demand is. But let me make it clear beforehand, don’t you go overboard, and don’t think of having any other ulterior motives. We can’t drag this on for too long. I need to get divorced as soon as possible.”

Jenna nodded. “Deal.”

Ethan spoke coldly. “Scott, since you’ve come to see me, just say what you need to say quickly. Our relationship isn’t exactly at the point where we can sit down and chat over coffee, is it?”
