Moon Goddess ...Alpha's wish #1

Chapter Seventeen

**

George snarled loudly, stepping up close to Gabby. Nudging her with his snout as she turned around and faced an ugly, very angry beast that presented itself as a werewolf.

George was incensed, his plans had been foiled and by the look of things, Chantelle was verging on the brink of death from her evil deed.

She had visible tattoos emerging, covering her body. Lines and swirls marring her once pristine, youthful looking skin.

George turned and howled loudly, the stench of his breath made Gabby sick with nausea, his black eyes narrowing as he bared his gnarly teeth.

“Kill me. I’d rather die than be your Luna. I have accepted Gabrielle and he, me”, she said yelling and crying some more.

George bit down on Gabby’s shoulder and pierced her tender skin, his saliva slickened canines sinking deep into the bone and then crunching.

As she wailed in pain it was like a veil had been lifted.

Beth, Tyler and their mates dropped the goblets they were holding and looked around the scene before them, what felt like for the first time.

All four sentinels looked on in horror at the precise moment Gabby was thrown off Gabe’s body, near severing her arm.

Enraged by his own ineptness, Zeta Caphy transformed in a blink of an eye, allowing Sleek his moment of glory by attacking Alpha George.

As Beth and Tyler ran to Gabby, their mates turned and snarled at all of the guests warily.

Who was who?

Had they all been a part of the grand scheme?

Slowly but surely, amongst the innocent, true identities were revealed.

Jewels simply melted from around necks and wrists, watches and bangles slipped like water off wrists and merged with the soil. The metal substance absorbing into the grass and disappearing like water.

Clothes that had been silken, sparkly and shiny hung like dirty rags. Gone were the magnificent suits most of the men wore. The fine goblets turned into wooden mugs, the white linen that was strewn around the grounds were thread bare sheets. The entire evening had been an illusion to create a magical moment and hide the real truth.

The rogues' facial features contorted into dirty, mangy wolves while the innocents stood by in shock demanding to know what was happening.

That was when the rogues turned, angry.

“What the hell is this? They aren’t real guests but an imagery. This has all been staged”, Bart threw out, gaping at the feral's who approached menacingly while the innocent took steps further away.

“What the hell have we been a part of?” Tristan answered back.

Sleek jumped on the Alpha’s wolf and bit down near his shoulder, puncturing George’s own skin but not fatally.

As both werewolves fought against one another, Beth reached Gabby and tried to stem the bleeding. “It’s too much, her artery ...”

Tyler grabbed her Alpha and dragged him over, yelling in his ears for him to wake up. Taking a chance and slapping his face over and over, tinging his skin with red.

“Goodness sake Gabe, wake up! Luna is dying”, she yelled as loud as she could.

Gabe was unresponsive, his head hanging from his shoulders in a deep slumber.

“Kill the witch”, Beth muttered lowly. “While she breaths, a curse still stands”.

Sleek and George’s wolves were circling each other, their fur torn revealing bone and flesh beneath. Sleek’s right eye and down his whiskered snout was gashed, but his hatred and determination for his opponent held him strong.

How dare he be fooled into thinking he had a mate, soil himself the way he did. This angered Caphy as Sleek fought with all of his might, the biggest mistake had been the betrayal to his Alpha.

The front and side of George’s mouth was hanging down, the damaged skin had been pulled apart showing broken teeth and a raw jawline.

The beast had finally revealed his true identity thought Beth watching on in horror as she pressed against Gabby’s shoulder smearing her bare hands in more blood.

Beth tried desperately to slow the bleeding wound, unforeseeably Gabe was being spattered with Gabby’s dying warmth. The strong scent of lemon and lime permeating his sense of smell; it was then he inhaled deeply, then stirred.

“Mark her, bite her Goddamn it. Do something Gabrielle, your mate is dying”, Beth begged of her Alpha when she noticed him awaken.

“Gabby?”

Mate, Devon howled.

Rolling over, Gabe acted on instinct and bared his teeth to bite down at the juncture of Gabby’s neck and shoulder. With her weakened heartbeat, the blood shot in sync from her body.

Transferring, Devon's menacing size and lithe form leaned over gently and licked her wound as it filled his mouth.

Beth didn’t realise but she was crying silently as she watched the life ebb from Gabby’s tiny human body, wishing there was more time on her Luna’s side as Devon lovingly tried to do his best.

It was then he bit down as well, covering the whole gory mess.

Howling, Devon nuzzled in close then submitted, retreating into himself as Gabe wrapped his huge arms around his dying mate.

“I shall die and live free with you in the next world”, he whispered before kissing her pale pink lips in defeat.

Rising is his naked form, Gabe unleashed his most deadly, Devon ...

Tyler found the old woman to be no match as she spared not an inch of her existence. Mangling her stained skin as it hung from a corpse, Chantelle’s features no longer recognizable.

Sleek was now panting deeply, he was no match for an Alpha but he had given his all, fighting like the warrior he was.

As he tried to stand a heavy paw weighed down heavily between his shoulder blades, both wolves looking their worst.

Opening his enormous mouth George’s wolf was about to finish off the Zeta’s life when Devon latched onto his throat.

He had gathered momentum in two strides, jumping in the air, he locked onto the slow beating of George’s artery. When Devon landed, he had George’s jugular between his teeth.

The fighting ceased.

The rogues stood still and lowered their heads.

Sentinel Tristan and Bartholomew then stood on all fours in disbelief, the anger and rage was sucked from their enemies' bodies like a vortex. The tension evaporating in the air like an invisible veil.

It was then the full moon appeared shining down like a beam. Perfectly lined cirrus and stratus clouds were wrapped in a shimmering silver, illuminating the purest, whitest vision Gabe had ever seen.

Beta of Paxon bowed down and bared his neck, the rest of the small Paxon pack who had been fighting, did the same.

Standing on the outskirts were the frightened innocents and the Paxon pack members who were holding their breaths in trepidation, firstly at seeing the glory of their Moon Goddess and then at all who had fought below Her.

Gabe felt no victory when George and his wolf had died, the entire sordid mess was in vain. His Zeta lay exhausted and wounded. Glaring at Tristan and Bart's wolves, they both appeared confused and unsure what was to happen next.

Tyler was covered in blood and gore, her beautiful fur of white and pale patches of fawn stained with red.

Poor Beth was still in human form, hold and rocking a lifeless human body.

It was his Gabby's limp, lifeless body that tore at his soul.

Her dress was no longer white, but grass stained and torn from her upper body.

Gabby's face thought Gabe as he stood tall and stared over at her, was the most beautiful he had ever seen as she lay there at peace.

Devon was devastated so Gabe ordered him to run ...

Report, ordered Beta Simeon. When are we meant to advance, we have heard nothing?

Silence.

We will make our way in, thirty paces astride till we meet you at the pack house, he said again.

It was Beth who answered.

We were ambushed with trickery and dark magic. Fooled and guileless in our preparation. Luna ..." she whimpered "... our communication was blocked ... we were not able to ...

I heard nothing! What of my brothers promised?

Come Beta, we have rogues to question, and Zeta Caphy needs medical care.

Where is Gabrielle? Everyone heard loud and clear through their mind link.

He has ... it was ... he's no longer here.

Luella and the covenant watched on from afar, keeping their vigil going. Stirring a cauldron filled with the heat of magic and the promises from the Moon Goddess herself.

Not once did they abandon their cause, the evil one's plans had been thwarted but at what cost, only time would tell.
