Chapter Twenty-Seven
Marisol
“Wait. So the witches that are a part of the fire elemental coven aren’t alive anymore? They’re like extinct?” I ask. I don’t even know if my question came out appropriate. My mind is working into overdrive trying to understand what I had just been told.
Alpha Lucian had called over Alpha Archer so he could give me advice. Alpha Archer was paired with a witch as well so he would most likely understand why they feel the way that they feel towards wolves, and how to overcome that.
“They no longer exist.” Archer confirms. “I live in regret over my actions every single day. Even though they took Maya from me I know that she would never want them to suffer.” He states solemnly.
“I am sure she would understand why you did what you did. She felt the bond between the two of you.” I hope my words offer him comfort, but I doubt they will.
He nods before turning to Lucian. “The main thing that you are going to have to do with your mate is be patient with her prejudice against wolves. All witches that are apart of covens have been raised to have a disdain for wolves.”
“In Marisol’s vision my mate spoke on wanting revenge against her old coven. I am assuming because she was thrown out. I am hoping that has lessened the bias that they taught her.”
I sat back and watch these men discuss the best way to go about mating with a witch.
Even though I have helped pair a few witches and wolves I only stayed around long enough for them to accept one another. Never to actually see how they overcome their bias of one another.
There seemed to be a common theme with the stories and the advice that Alpha Archer was giving Lucian.
Patience.
I am so grateful that Arabella was mated to Alpha Lucian out of all of the other Alpha’s.
It would probably end up like every other wolf and witch I’ve had to pair. Screaming and tears and even sometimes violence.
“What do you think Marisol?”
Hearing Alpha Lucian call my name snaps me out of my thoughts.
I let out a nervous laugh. “I’m sorry I wasn’t listening can you repeat that?”
Alpha Archer gave me a reassuring smile. “I was just asking if we should have a meeting with all of the Alphas. Have them be aware of the situation.”
I quickly nodded. “That is a great idea, some of the upper ranking pack members apart of Judah’s pack are already aware. Also, don’t let anyone pressure you into a timeline with your mate and how to make her help us. The most important thing is that she accepts you, and that will happen on her terms.”
I still feel quite bad for going out of my way to have other people aware of Alpha Lucian’s mate before he does, especially since I know that they want him to get her to help us asap.
“I will follow your advice my queen.”
I couldn’t help but blush a little bit at Alpha Lucian calling me a queen. I’m not the queen yet, but I will be tomorrow.
“Alpha Archer, do you think that you will be able to find Judah and have him call the meeting for us?” I ask.
Alpha Archer nods before exiting the room.
I really want to ask Alpha Lucian more about Alpha Archer’s mate but I refrain.
I know that the two of them are close, so Alpha Lucian probably knows a lot more than most people when it comes to Alpha Archer’s mate. He would probably tell me, not because he’d want to, only because I’m Judah’s mate.
It wouldn’t be right for me to use my position of power to satisfy my curiosity.
It is silent for a moment until Alpha Lucian speaks up. “We should probably go as well. I assume he will want to start the meeting as soon as possible.”
“You’re right.”
We both stood up and started to make our way to his conference room.
I know that this meeting is probably not going to be as structured as the ones I have been apart of before.
All ten Alpha’s in one room, this should be interesting.
When Lucian and I walked through the door all eyes turned to us.
Of course we were the last ones to arrive.
Judah stands up from the head of the long table, and begins to walk towards me as Lucian went to take a seat.
“I would like to formally introduce you all to my mate and your Queen.” He wrapped his arm around my waist before pulling me into his side.
My cheeks flush as all of the alphas in the room stare at me.
Alpha Archer stood up first before bowing his head. “I am honored to be in your presence my Queen. I am Alpha Archer Alpha of the East pack, and I am eager to serve to you.”
One by one they each stood up and bowed their heads to me before introducing themselves. The Alpha’s of the largest packs going before the Alpha’s of the minor ones.
Lucian, Alpha of the North Pack.
Ravian and Atticus, Alpha’s of the West Pack.
Atlas, Alpha of the South Pack.
I barely registered any of the other Alphas introducing themselves to me after Alpha Artemis stood up and spoke.
I watched her in awe. Her voice is strong and powerful and commanded everyone’s attention when speaking.
She is the only female Alpha ever, she had stepped up as Alpha of her pack a year ago after her father passed even though she has a few brothers. She proved to be the strongest of all of her siblings and they happily gave her the title of Alpha.
Her presence in the room is just as strong as the males. I would bet everything that being the only female in the room doesn’t intimidate her at all.
Judah’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. “Thank you all for the polite introductions to my mate, I am looking forward to working with you all as a team from now on.”
They all nodded and Judah began to lead me towards the head of the table.
I have to sit in his lap again? It is one thing to have him do it around his pack but all of the Alphas apart of the pack lands?
I can’t help but blush as he smirks at me. He takes his seat before grasping me by my hips and slowly guiding me onto his lap. She places a small kiss on my neck before burying his nose in my hair.
Alpha Lucian cleared his throat before he begins speaking. “I believe that Marisol has helped me find my mate and she will help us defeat the witches.”
Straight to the point. It’s better than beating around the bush.
“How is a she-wolf going to help us with these problems? Unless she is a moon healer like our queen and Benjamin?” Atticus was the first to speak up.
I’ve never met him before today, only his brother. Yet the stories that I have heard about him remind me a lot of Benjamin. Playful, but strong. Knows how to have fun, but will do whatever it takes to keep his people safe.
“She is not a she-wolf, she is a witch. I have consulted not only with our Luna Queen, but also with Alpha Archer on how I can convince my mate to be on our side.” Lucian responds
“Yeah, that sounds good and all, but does anyone have a backup plan?” Atticus asked, causing all of the Alpha’s the groan.
Just as Judah was going to say something, probably mean I decided to speak up. “We asked the moon goddess to help us win this war. I then began to have visions of Alpha Lucian’s mate. The moon goddess showed me her for a reason, and she will be the one to help us.”
Judah squeezed my thigh reassuringly as Alpha Artemis let out a loud laugh.
"She sure told you! It feels nice to not be the only girl in the room for once." She stated as she smiled at me.
"Are there any details on how she can help us?" Ravian asked.
I thought back to the visions of Arabella, they never really did give me much detail on her.
"There wasn't a lot of information in my vision, but from what I did see she was exiled from her coven, and she is desperate for revenge against them. She said that they are doing something that they kicked her out from doing."
"Blood magic." Alpha Archer stated lowly. "My mate was an elemental witch and she used to go around to different covens and a lot of them despise any kind of dark magic. They probably exiled her for performing it and then they realized that they would be strong enough to wipe us out if they used it."
I nodded, that should be enough to have her on our side.
"Well the only thing that I can say is, don't screw this up for us Lucian." Atticus' voice shook a little as he laughed. "We are all depending on you."
I am sure that as much as everyone wanted to lunge at Atticus for his words, they agreed with him.
This all literally depends on him.
"I will not fail you all. I saw the vision that our Luna gave us, and I know exactly where she will find me." He replied, his voice strong.
We all began to slowly stand up, no one having to say that this meeting has been concluded, we all just feel it.
"Tomorrow morning will be Marisol's official coronation. Right after it is complete I expect you all to be on your way to your packs. We need to be prepared for anything."
As soon as Judah stopped speaking they started to file out of the room.
Once the door closed Judah wrapped his hand around my throat and gently guided me back until my back was pressed against his chest.
"You did amazing Marisol." He stated before softly kissing my neck. "You are perfect."
He didn't stop whispering words of affection in between the soft kisses.
His words made me blush.
He suddenly stopped kissing my neck and his body tenses as he sits up straighter.
"Judah what wr-"
He cut off my question by lifting me up by my hips and standing, "Benjamin woke up, and he is asking for us."
I couldn't help but feel elated. "Is he okay?" I ask gripping the front of Judah's shirt.
"Yes, yes he is okay. He just wants us to tell us about what he saw." He stated before grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room.
Whatever he saw I hope it was worth all of the pain he had to endure.
