Moon Bound

Chapter Twenty

Marisol

"Where would you rather be, the bed or the couch?"

I feel my cheeks flame at Judah's question. "The bed, I am sure that I'm going to end up falling asleep soon."

It wasn't even the afternoon yet, but I just feel completely drained of all of my energy. Hearing Benjamin deliver not so helpful advice from the moon goddess regarding the witches and the rogues I feel completely hopeless. Everyone in the meeting was prepared to hear encouraging words or something that would guide us to take action. Instead she told Benjamin that 'everything will work out the way it should.' That wasn't very encouraging to hear.

Judah lifted me into his arms, one arm holding the back of my knees and the other supporting my back. He probably could tell how tired I am. "When you wake I will have lunch prepared for you." Being in his arms and listening to him speak was enough to soothe my anxiety over what may possibly happen.

I wrap my arms around his neck. "I feel bad." I sighed in-between my words. "You cooked us breakfast this morning, the least that I can do is make us lunch."

He shook his head with a chuckle. "I like being the one who makes the food that you eat, Marisol. Let me provide for you."

I peer up at him through my eyelashes. I can tell from the look him his eye that arguing with him on this would be pointless. He has been willingly to negotiate and compromise for me to have a few things that I wanted, but I can tell that this won't be one of them. I can see now that when he truly wants his way he will have no trouble dominating in any way if it means that he gets what he wants.

It is for the best, when I was living with Izumi and Benjamin in the cabin they did most of the cooking anyways. Benjamin tried his hardest to teach me, but I always ending up messing things up one way or another.

The blush that has already been tainting my cheeks has probably changed into a brighter shade of red, but he doesn't comment as he strides through the pack quickly. He only slows down when our home comes within view.

I snuggle closer into his body as he walks through our beautiful home. I still can't believe that he did all of this with me in mind before he even knew who I was. He didn't know my likes or dislikes, but I still find it absolutely perfect. There isn't a single thing that I would change out our home.

He gently places me on the bed, but doesn’t make a move to get in it. “Do you want us to lay down the way we did last night?” He asks gruffly.

I crawl under the covers. "I think that would probably be the best thing that we can do."

This all felt really, awkward. I have seen other wolves with their mates and I have never seem any of them act like this. Then again, no other mate pair that I have seen has has a runt that may not be able to handle what comes with being mates with an alpha, so this is new territory for everyone. So, a little awkwardness can't be too bad.

He climbs in the bed next to me before maneuvering my body to face him. “You were really relaxed this morning when you had your face in my neck, so that is how we will be now.”

He doesn't wait for a response from me before pulling my body into his. His warm palm sprawls across the back of my neck, pulling me closer. I acknowledge him by nuzzling my face into his neck, breathing in his masculine scent. I feel his chest rumble under mine before he groaned out loud. His hand traveling from my neck to my back pulling me until our bodies were meshed into one another.

Even though I feel like we are a little awkward with one another, I really like him. A lot. I must also acknowledge that him and I have only known each other officially for one day. I am happy with the way that our relationship is progressing, but at the same time I can't help but be a little concerned. I have known wolves who have told their mates that they love each other after only one day of knowing one another. I used to think that they were ridiculous and maybe a little delusional but now? I'm not so sure I hold that sentiment anymore.

I continue to breathe in his scent, while the warming sensation all throughout my body from his touch was enough to lull my body to sleep.

Her back was still turned to me. Arabella. That’s her name. She was in front of a dingy looking stove that had a pot on top of that.

“Arabella please! There’s so many other ways that we can revenge.” Val, her friend said trying to lead her away from the stove.

“I promise I will be safe. He’s just an Alpha it’s not like I’m going after the Alpha King. Now that would be reckless.”

Val sighed, “Well at least give me the spoon, you know I’m better than you at making elixirs.”

Arabella side stepped out of her friends way, but I still can’t see her face.

“You won’t have to worry about me, Alpha Lucian is known for his even temper. I’m surprised that there is a wolf that doesn’t fly off the handle about the smallest thing.”

“You’re playing with fire and you know it!”

“It’s a good thing that if I get burned someone is making a nice healing elixir for me.”

Alpha Lucian? The Alpha of the North pack is known for his even temper, but that just means that he’s probably even worse than Judah once you get on his bad side. It sounds like to me that Arabella really has plans on getting on his bad side. There has to be more I know there has to be more.

I was so concentrated on trying to decipher my vision I didn’t notice that Judah was awake and watching me until he started to run his hands up and down my back. I could have sworn he was asleep.

“You need to relax Marisol, it’s only been thirty minutes I know you will get the rest of your vision soon.”

“I need the rest of the vision now.” I declared as I sat up with a huff.

Judah followed my actions. "We have already confirmed that you only see these visions when you are relaxed." He tucked a few strands of hair behind my ear before grasping me under my chin. He slowly guided me to face him. "Stop stressing about the vision and let it come to you naturally." He softly commanded.

I slowly nodded, complying with his words. He wants me to have this vision almost as much as I want to have it, and he right. Even though I a, frustrated with the circumstances I can acknowledge that what he saying is correct.

He wraps his arm around my shoulders, pulling my body back into his before slowly lowering our bodies back onto the bed.

“Judah, I think that something is going to happen to Alpha Lucian.” I whisper.

He nods before he begins to softly pet my hair. "We will discuss all of this once you feel like you have seen the full vision do you understand?" He asks.

I don't give him a verbal response, instead I place my face back into his neck like before and take a deep inhale of his scent. Letting it calm me and lull me into relaxation.

It felt like we were laying there for hours before I finally feel my eyes get heavy.

A male is walking through the forest, I can hear the leaves crunching under his boot as he walks.

I know that it is Alpha Lucian. It has to be.

I have never seen him in person before, his Beta is always the one that guides me through his pack whenever I am there to help those with their mates. I have seen many photographs of him though.

He is very tall and muscular, has dirty blonde hair and the odd thing that I’ve always heard about is his eyes. I always thought that people were being dramatic when describing him and he just had very dark brown eyes. Yet, now that I’m seeing him through my vision there’s no arguing that his eyes are black.

The vision slowly starts to fade away, but I am still in a trance like state so I know that it is not over yet.

Then it all comes together.

Alpha Lucian standing in front of her. “I didn’t stop you because you’re my soulmate, Bella. If there’s something that you want I will give it to you.”

I shot straight up with a gasp, and Judah was quick to follow me.

“What happened Marisol?” He asked quickly as he hands grasped my shoulders.

I turned my head to look at him. "We need to call a meeting now." I feel the adrenaline rushing through my body as I hop out of our bed. I start searching for my shoes, I don't see why I should bother with changing clothes.

“Marisol wait. Talk to me.” He demands.

I pause, I was halfway towards our bedroom door, ready to call what I know will be our final meeting.

I take a deep breath, attempting to calm myself. It's not fair to Judah in the dark, he's my mate. I need to remember no matter how desperate I am to prove myself to his pack members that he needs to come first. That I need to consult with him before running to everyone else.

Just as I begin to turn around I hear Judah stand up from the bed.

"Marisol just talk to me, please." He pleads.

Hearing the desperation in his voice made the guilt that I was already feeling so much worse.

I smile apologetically at him before speaking. “In a vision from this morning, the witch Arabella said something about the witches shaming her for something that she did just to take what she did and use it to get the upper hand over their enemies. She had to be talking about blood magic.”

I feel like I am ready to jump over the moon after giving Judah the information, and the smile on his face lets me know that he is feeling the exact same way.

He grabs my arm, pulling me closer to him. "How do we find her? How do you know that she will help us? Is there anyway that we can guarantee that she won't lie to us? Just because they shamed her does not mean that she is not loyal to them." He fires off the questions at me.

I feel the right corner of my mouth lift. "I am positive about all of this because she is mated to Alpha Lucian."
