Chapter Thirty
Judah
When I step into my bedroom I see that Marisol is still asleep in our bed. Exactly where she belongs.
I stand over her, and watch the slow rise and fall of her chest.
Me waking up early and getting up to take a shower was not enough to wake her. Her body is most likely still work out from last nights activities.
I chuckle at my thoughts.
I gently sit down on the bed next to her, and place the glass of water I poured for her on her night stand.
As I observe her I can’t help but smirk, thinking of all the things that had occurred in this very bed last night.
Her seducing me into marking her.
Then her seducing me once again to finally make love to her.
I fell into her trap both times, but I don’t mind. I am sure that it won’t be the last time that I do.
My conversation with Alpha Kane had alleviated most of my fears when it came to being with her fully. It was her antagonizing words that had pushed me over the edge.
After being reminded that technically another male could claim her I lost control of myself. The only thing that I could do to calm myself was to mark her.
After that she insisted that we make love to one another.
I still had some fear that I would hurt her by being too rough, I just couldn’t deny her of anything that she truly wanted. She made sure of it.
After our initial coupling, she had awoken me two more times. Biting and kissing on the mark on my shoulder, crying out that she needed more.
I noticed that after her first orgasm she was worn out barely able to keep her eyes open, but the ones after that seemed to spur her on. Having more energy after each one.
The very last time I had lost control over my wolf, and he made sure to put her to sleep.
I brush my hand over her stomach.
Maybe she will be swollen with my pups soon.
I smile at my thought. Even though now is not a good time I would still be elated to know that she is carrying my pups.
She begins to stir after I remove my touch from her, letting me know that she will be awake soon.
I stare at her unapologetically as she slowly starts to wake up. Her body moving closer to mine as she tries to find a more comfortable position.
Her icy blonde hair sprawled all over her pillow, her arm draped around my waist as her breathing becomes slightly heavier.
This morning I felt the mate bond click into place right after I woke up.
I had access to her thoughts, dreams and emotions.
Listening to her thoughts confirmed something that I thought I misheard her say last night.
She loves me.
I didn’t have the opportunity to say it back because she fell asleep right after saying it.
Her eyes slowly opened, and she smiled up at me.
I reach around her back and help her sit up. She leans into me as I hand her the glass water that I had poured.
“How are you feeling?” I asked as she began to take small sips of the water.
When she finished about half of the glass she handed it back to me before responding. “I feel fine. I was expecting to at least feel a little sore but I don’t.” She smiles her beautiful smile at me.
I nod.
I was worried that she would wake up in pain, and that we would have no choice but to push it back.
I can see and feel how anxious the rest of the pack is to officially meet her. If I were to push back her coronation after announcing it they pack may riot.
Even though many of her have seen her before they have never met her as my mate.
“There will be a few wolves from my pack coming here to help you get ready for the coronation.”
Her eyes widen at my statement, before she practically leaps out of the bed.
“Doesn’t it start at like ten?” She asked as she looked at the clocked.
“Yes, it does.”
“It’s eight forty-five why didn’t you wake me sooner!” She runs to the bathroom and I hear the shower start.
I get up and follow after her. “You just looked so at peace, how could I have woken you up?” I ask.
She ignores my question as she gets undressed. “You are not joining me. I need to be absolutely perfect today.”
“As you wish.” I said before I leaned my hip against the sink.
“Is this going to be a lot? I don’t know if I will be able to handle a bunch of the rituals that usually come with coronations.”
I wish we had the time to go through all of the rituals. I know she would be able to handle it, but her nervousness is taking over. I can feel it.
“There is no reason to be nervous, I have shortened it down to us saying vows to one another in front of the pack. I wish we could participate in all of the festivities that should happen, but with all that is going on at the moment it would be unwise. Don’t worry when all of this is over I will give you the celebration that you deserve.”
She blushed as she stepped in the shower.
“Well I am glad that it is going to be short, I don’t think it would be a great first impression for me to pass out in front of your pack.”
I smiled at her uneasiness. “I will leave you to shower in peace, the pack members should be here shortly.”
I walk out of the room and make my way out of the house.
“I was was wondering if you were going to make us wait all day.” I heard as I closed the front door.
I turn around to see Izumi and Benjamin waiting on the steps of the front porch.
Is this to be my life now? Being harassed by Benjamin constantly.
“I am sorry, I didn’t know the two of you would be out here.” I respond.
“Marisol’s family is here. I thought you would like a word with them.” Izumi interjected before the conversation could get more hostile than it already was.
I should have a word with them. I told Marisol that she would be deciding a punishment for them in retaliation of them speaking negative about her. The last punishment she was supposed to deal out ended up being a joke.
I will not go back on my word and try to deal out a punishment myself, but that does not mean that I cannot threaten them incase they don’t change their behavior after Marisol’s punishment.
“Take me to them.” I demand.
Smirks form on Benjamin and Izumi’s face.
“Gladly.” She stated before we began to walk towards the pack house.
The coronation starts in roughly an hour, giving me time to get dressed and verbally reprimand her family.
I stand in front of Marisol’s family, and I can’t help but be disgusted and appalled by their behavior.
Izumi sat at my desk, a smirk appeared on her face as they all shuffled into the room as quiet as possible. I can only assume that Izumi went and taunted them with the fact that they have drawn my ire.
I look at them, really look at them. Marisol’s siblings all look like carbon copies of their mom.
‘The way she looks isn’t the main reason why she feels like an outsider with them. It is the way that they treat her.’
Izumi’s words ring through my head.
Izumi, someone my mate has known for a little more than a year is more family to her than her own flesh and blood.
Izumi did not skim over the details when telling me all about how they have excluded her from things over the years.
Each story more enraging than the last.
Family vacations that she was not invited to.
Birthdays that they had missed because they decided to go overseas to celebrate the other three.
Marisol sending them letter after letter, and rarely ever receiving them back.
Marisol sending them gifts from her small adventures and not even receiving a simple thank you.
Making her feel bad because she was different.
The one that enraged me the most?
The moon goddess originally planned to have Marisol move into the cabin with Benjamin when she turned eighteen. Instead right before her and her siblings fifth birthday her parents insisted that the moon goddess take her then and there.
Her siblings jealousy being the main reason why they sent her away. She had grown up without a pack because of them. She felt out of place around them, because of them.
Benjamin made sure to interject into Izumi’s rant to let me know that James had never participated in his family’s misbehavior towards Marisol. He defended her when he could, but he was not always there.
“I think we all know why you are all here.” My voice came out gruffer than normal. My wolf was desperate to be released, and this time I did not want to fight him. All of the things that they have done and said to Marisol, being ripped to shreds was exactly what they deserved. Yet I know that it was the last thing that she would want.
I could smell the fear radiating off of them in waves, all of them except James.
The one who was Marisol’s true family.
The sibling that would visit her in her cabin.
The one that would bring her gifts.
The one who would miss out on vacations and spend the days with her.
The only one who looked at her as family, and not as the moon healer.
Her father was the first to speak up. “We are here because we doubted that you would accept our daughter as your mate.”
My eyes narrowed in on him. Benjamin was the one to let me know that it was his idea to send Marisol away after witnessing his children’s jealousy. He decided that he was not going to correct his behavior, and show all of his children equal attention and love. He decided to just ship her away.
“I have already promised Marisol that she would be the one to punish you for the foul words that you all spewed towards her. If I wasn’t a man of my word I would take it back and banish you all from the pack lands.”
I noticed sweat had started to form on their mother’s eyebrow.
The one who insisted on taking Marisol's siblings overseas on birthday's leaving her behind because the moon goddess preferred her to stay within pack land territory. All of this in an attempt to make up for her favoritism towards Marisol all those years ago.
I may have promised Marisol that she would be the one decide their punishments for their words. I would be the one to decide their punishment for their actions.
