Moon Bound

Chapter Sixteen

Marisol

Things that we know:

That the witches and rogues have banded together

That they are using blood magic

When anyone comes into contact with said magic their body shuts down

It targets the magic within your body if you have any (if you’re a wolf it’ll attempt to strip you of your wolf; if you’re a witch it’ll take away your powers)

When Benjamin & Marisol heal/help anyone that has been affected by the blood magic it is agonizing

I groan as I place my pen down on the table and look at the list that I have written down. I thought that I knew more information, that I just needed to piece everything together to get a clear picture of what we are dealing with. Actually looking at what I have written down makes me realize that I know nothing. I concentrated as hard as I could as I wrote, and all it did was cause me a headache.

“Step away from the paper Marisol, you need to give yourself a break from it.”

I tilt my head back and see Judah standing over me. His command alerting me that he is near, I didn't even hear him walk into the room. A not so nice quality that comes with being a runt.

"I can't not right now." I say before shaking my head. "I need as much information as possible for when I give this to Benjamin to give to the moon goddess."

It has been about two hours since Judah and I finished our conversation about our status as mates. He decided to give me more space to think about it, but all I have been doing is thinking about what the witches are up to. I know that Benjamin and myself are technically not supposed to interfere, but after seeing the state that Alpha Wren was left in how can we not?

“How about this. I will call a meeting with my pack members that were helping out with the South-East pack so we will have enough information.” He places his hands on my shoulders gently, and begans to softly knead the area.

I nodded. That is a good plan, better than anything I would have come up with. “Have Benjamin there as well, we all need to stick together as much as possible.” Even if he doesn't have any more information to add, we all still need him to be the one to break down the information to her.

“After that we need to go to sleep, do you understand Marisol?” His voice had risen, and his tone was firmer. Letting me know that he means business.

I bit my lip and nod my head before saying. “I understand.”

“Let’s go get your brother, who better be on his best behavior while I’ll send a message to my pack members.” He held his hand out for me and I eagerly took it.

I watched him in awe as he mind linked his pack members. Every time I have seen a wolf do it I am always impressed. The only time I was apart of a pack was when I was a baby so all of this is fascinating to me.

He led me to a floor below, until he reached where Izumi and Benjamin were probably resting. I felt bad. Benjamin probably needed as much rest as I did after healing Alpha Wren, but we need him right now.

Judah obviously didn’t feel the same way as I do, because he had a smirk on his face as he drew his fist back and started to pound on the door.

I can't help but cringe at the loud sounds. I was prepared for it and it still startled me, so I can only imagine how it was for them.

I heard Izumi start to complain through the door, and I had to stifle my laugh. I know how much she loves her sleep.

The door swings open and a tired looking Benjamin still put in the effort to smile at me before glaring at Judah. “What is it that you need my almighty Alpha King?” He asked sarcastically.

Judah began to growl at the disrespect, but I was able to put his attention on me by grabbing his arm. "Actually it's me who needs your help."

Benjamin held out his finger to me. “Give me a moment.”

He stepped back into his room closing the door. He is probably taking his time to apologize to Izumi, and tell her that he will be back later.

He closed the door softly behind him before gesturing for Judah to lead the way. “Alright my little Marisol, what is it that you need?”

Judah started walking in front of us before looking at Benjamin over his shoulder. “If you call her yours one more time you will be missing your tongue.” He warned.

I shudder at his threat as Benjamin and I began to follow him. "The two of you really need to stop provoking one another. Please for my sanity?" My question is mostly pointed towards Benjamin. He is my brother and I love him, but he loves to instigate. Especially with wolves that have power.

Benjamin nods. “Alright what is needed? I’m assuming that you have questions for the moon goddess?”

I nod. “But not just about my mate and I and what we can and can’t do, we also would like guidance from the moon goddess about how to go about the war with minimal lives lost.”

Benjamin nods his head. “That’s a good idea Marisol, I am proud of you.” He places his hand on my shoulder.

Jude let out a low growl in front of us. “Keep your hands off my mate Ben.”

I honestly don’t even know how he knew that Benjamin had touched me he hadn’t even turned around. Nevertheless it’s best to respect my mate and what he wants. I brush Benjamin’s hand off of me, which causes him to turn and stick his tongue out at me.

"So I was thinking that maybe you can cal for her tonight or tomorrow. Tell her about everything that we have learned so far and ask for her guidance. It would be a great help, and it will keep the lives lost on both sides at a minimum."

Benjamin nods his head. "That would be for the best, we have all suffered too much loss already."

We were so engrossed in our conversation about the best route that he can take on speaking to the moon goddess without irritating her the were not paying attention to our surroundings until I bumped into Judah's back. I quickly steady myself and began to pay attention to our surroundings. We are standing in a long hallway with just one door.

Judah turns to face us. "We are about to enter my conference room. Everyone that was at the South-East pack has come back here to help you with your list. They will all be respectful towards you because you are worthy of it. They all know that if it was not for you Alpha Wren would not be awake and able to lead his pack. You earned their respect before you accepted me as your mate."

I can't help the smile that spreads across my face. I have never had this feeling before. I actually feel proud of myself. I’ve been happy because I’ve helped an animal or a person with my healing before but this? I never thought to actually be proud of my abilities. I am literally on cloud nine right now.

Benjamin smiles at me. “He’s right you’re amazing.”

Judah opens the door to his office and we all make our way inside. Everyone instantly stands to their feet before bowing to Judah.

Before I could fret over where I am supposed to sit he grabbed my hand and began to lead me towards the head of the table. I stand awkwardly beside him as he takes his seat before he grabs my hips and eases me into his lap.

I couldn’t help but blush at the show of intimacy in front of everyone. I was just lucky that Benjamin decided to act his age for once, and not make a fake gagging sound. It is nice to see that he is trying to not provoke Judah.

Judah nodded his head before everyone sat back down, and that’s when I noticed that she was in the room. I don’t know how I missed her, she’s the only other female wolf in the room.

Sofia smiled at me apologetically, but I just looked down at the paper in front of me. The whole speech that Judah gave me before I walked in feels like it has gone down the drain. I know I didn’t earn her respect.

Judah wrapped his around me and pulled me into his chest. “Marisol has a few things written down about the war that we have going on. She plans on showing this to the moon goddess and asking her for the best path for us to take so we lose minimal amount of lives on both sides.”

They all nod simultaneously and it kind of freaks me out.

I feel Judah run his nose up my neck, the warm sensations that spread through my body from it causes an involunary shiver. I guess that’s his cue for me to begin speaking.

"What I have written down so far is that the witches and rogues are fighting alongside each other. The witches are using blood magic and every being that comes in contact with them can have their body temporarily shut down and it attempts to strip the magic within their body. Also when Benjamin and I help anyone that has been affected by blood magic it causes us pain." I blow out air when I am done talking. Everyone's eyes in this room are on me, and I absolutely hate it.

A man that is beside Sofia is the first to speak. "My name is Cole, I am one of the head warriors." Her bowed his head slightly. "From what I have seen most of the warriors had all come into contact with the magic that the witches were casting. Some of the warriors were fine, but others were in comas for a few hours. Alpha Wren was the extreme case with him being in a coma for a full day. Without you I don't know when he would have recovered."

I nod along to his words, before writing down the information he just said.

Some wolves reacted to the blood magic, while others didn’t.

Did Their reaction depend on how much of the magic they have been exposed to?

Another person spoke up. “My name is Alexander, I am the gamma of this pack, and we will be spending a lot of time getting to know each other my Luna.” He bowed slightly as well.

I felt Judah’s grip on me tighten as I smiled politely at Alexander. His irritation had to be as obvious to his pack members as it was to me. Especially since judging by the smirk on Benjamin’s face he noticed it as well.

Alexander didn’t seem to mind as he continued to speak. “The witches were performing blood magic and I’m assuming that they are taking blood from the rogue wolves, while they were attacking the South-East pack they were also taking pups and-“ He couldn’t even finish the sentence.

I didn’t want him to.

I tried hard to keep my hand steady as I wrote down what he just had told me.

Witches killed pups.

Witches were taking blood from pups.

Witches took the heart out of the pups body to consume them.

I took a deep breath before looking away from the paper. I couldn’t even look at the words that I had just written. I felt my lower stomach start to thrash as I tried to think of anything else.

I felt Judah’s finger softly brush against my scalp before running his fingers through the rest of my hair. “We are also aware that a few of their warriors have gone missing as well."

I feel my eyes widen as a million questions run through my mind.

“Rogue wolves are extremely weak in comparison to pack wolves right?” Sofia was the first to speak up after Judah's revelation.

“Yes, there are multiple reasons for that but the main reason is because they rarely shift out of their wolf form, they are born as wolves and don’t live the way that the moon goddess intended.” Alexander answered her.

I turn to Alexander. “You said that to perform their magic they are probably taking blood from the rogues. So if they have abducted the warriors from packs their magic will be stronger because the blood that they are taking from is stronger.”

The silence in the room lets me know that everyone agrees with me, but they do not want to say it outloud. The warriors would never give the witches their blood willingly. They were probably tortured and killed while they drained the blood from their body.

I feel tears sting my eyes as I reach for the paper I miss, and I see a hand push the paper up towards me. I look up to see that it’s Sofia that’s helping me. I would smile at her to let her know that I appreciate the help but I’m too busy rushing to write down this revelation.

Witches abducted pack warriors. If the destruction they caused at the South-East pack was with rogue wolf blood running through them, what damage would they be able to cause if they had pack warrior’s blood with them?
