Chapter Eighteen
Marisol
I woke up with a start. I couldn’t help it after what I had witnessed in my dream.
No, it wasn't a dream. It was a vision.
At this point they are one and the same.
“Marisol are you alright?” Judah began to stroke my arm. I probably awoke him with my jerky movement. He was able to quickly soothe the distress that was running through my body with his light caresses. Allowing me to focus on retaining the information that I saw in my vision.
A woman in a long black cloak with the hood down. Her back is toward me and I can’t see her face. It looked like she was in a library full of books. I know from the words on the spines that these weren't just any books. They are spell books.
She flips. throughs page after page quicker than I have seen anyone do before. She would whisper a curse word every now and then before slamming the book onto the table and picking up another. This repeated a few more times before I heard her shout out a 'yes' to herself.
Then my vision shattered.
"Marisol." I heard Judah call out to me. My sight was slowly returning to me. I see Judah's blurry figure hovering over me, but I am not yet able to form the words to respond to him.
As my vision clears I see Judah's worried expression before he calls out my name once again.
“Yes, I am fine." I brush my hand softly against the side of his face. "I didn’t mean to startle you I was just thinking of the vision that I had while I was asleep.”
He reached around me, pulling my body forward helping me sit up. He placed a light kiss on my cheek before asking. "May I know what this vision was about?"
I am not exactly sure what the vision that I received means. I am unsure if it is someone's mate, or just something that I need to look out for in the future. Especially since the woman in the vision is most likely a witch, it is better that I keep this information to myself for now. "When I have all of the pieces together you will be the first person that I tell."
He nods in response, but I can tell that he is disappointed that I am withholding the information from him.
"What time is it?" I ask in an attempt to change the subject.
He turned away from me to look at the clock on his nightstand before turning back. “A little bit before seven. I ran you a bath so you can relax a little bit before we meet up with everyone again.”
I nodded. As much as I don’t want to have to face everyone again after almost bawling my eyes out in front of them, I have to. I have to show not only them and Judah as well that I can be a leader. A good one. After this is all over I can attempt to hide from all of them later.
Judah lifts himself up from the bed, before stretching out his hand and helping me stand from the bed. He doesn't let go of my hand and walks me to the bathroom. "Take as much time as you need. We will all be patient when it comes to you." He lifts up my hand and places a kiss on my knuckles.
I blush at his actions. While his words were an attempt to reassure me all it made me do is think of is whether or not Benjamin has any advice on what we should and shouldn’t do.
Having a random vision that isn't clear at first is pretty common, but only when I'm dealing with wolves. A witch? That isn't something that I have had happen before.
I get pulled out of my thoughts by Judah running a hand down my arm. His gentle caress leaving a warming sensation in its trail. “Don’t wait too long to get in or the water will get cold. I am going to cook us breakfast.” He gave me another quick kiss on the cheek and then walked out of the room.
By the way that he was fidgeting with his hands, I could tell that he wants more physical contact between the two of us. The reason that I am so positive about it is because I wanted more physical contact between us as well. I haven't initiated much because I am worried that we may take it too far. He may be the Alpha King, but he only has so much control over his wolf.
I quickly undress, and slowly step into the warm water. As I settle in I feel the muscles in my body relax.
I close my eyes and try to remember more parts of the dream that I had last night. I’m sure the woman that I saw was a witch, why else would she surround herself with spell books.
The same woman was now walking through the forest. Her back was still turned to me, the only feature of hers that I could see is her brown hair that must have been curled by a curling iron and stopped right below her shoulders.
She spoke to herself as she stomped throughout the forest, but I could only catch some of the words that she was saying. "The last time that he makes a fool out of me...An embarrassment...The ancestors."
She walked to a cabin in the woods and was quick to step inside. She was greeted by a very petite blonde sitting on the couch reading a book.
She quickly closed the book before standing in front of her. "Arabella are you sure this is what you want to do?"
So that’s her name, Arabella.
I have only had to pair one witch with a wolf before and it was a complete disaster. The prejudices that some witches and wolves have for one another is always just too much for me to handle. It took a year for this mate pair to even speak to one another without threatening to reject one another. The fact that they neither of them rejected the other the second they found out that they were mates let me know that they would come together eventually.
I lift my arm up in the water, it has lost a lot of its warmth, but it isn’t cold yet. As tempted as I am to drain some of the water out and replace it with warm water, I know that there are things that we need to do. I can enjoy the luxuries of being the Alpha King’s mate later. First I need to deal with the hard part.
It didn’t take me long to get out of the tub and get dressed. When I finally made it to the kitchen I saw Judah cutting up pieces of bacon.
“Just in time, I just finished making our food.” I followed him to the table and like last night he made sure that I sat in his lap.
Is it going to be like this every time we eat a meal together?
Will he do this in front of the pack?
Will he do this in front of Izumi and Benjamin?
My cheeks heat at my last thought. I can almost see Benjamin pretending to throw up, and Izumi going between poking fun at me and talking about how romantic it is.
He began to feed me once again, but other than thinking about what others might have to say I don’t mind it much. Plus I’m sure if I really put my foot down he would allow me to sit and feed myself.
“Marisol, I know we talked yesterday but there are a few more things that you should know.” He breaks the silence between the two of us.
I nodded for him to continue as I chewed the piece of scrambled eggs that he placed in my mouth.
“Your official coronation will be soon probably within a weeks time, maybe sooner. Everyone will know that you are my queen. I have had Benjamin tell a few of my pack members to send for your family. Once the coronation is over you will decide the punishment for Sofia and your family members.”
My family members? “Why is my family being punished?” I ask.
Judah let out a grunt. “Benjamin and Izumi made sure that I was aware of the foolishness that your relatives had said to you. I will show to you that their words were lies, by punishing anyone who has the audacity to attempt to hurt in any way. I don't care who it is, your family or someone that is ranked high within my pack. They all will respect you or face the consequences."
The determination in his voice, and in his eyes made me nervous. I am not exactly sure what punishment he would put my family through, but I know that I at least need to voice my disagreement with it. As I work up the courage to say something my leg began to bounce and I began to twist the ends of my hair in my hands. "there really isn't any need to punish anyone. I assure that they meant-"
I’m cut off by him shoving a piece of bacon into my mouth. “Anyone who disrespects you will face consequences. It is up to you on who is the one to deliver them said consequences. If you don’t I will.”
I gasp as I see his eyes flash amber gold, his wolf letting me know that if he gets to be the one to decide the punishment my family or Sofia might not survive.
I have heard of the Alpha King handing out a punishment to a wolf, and them not being able to survive it. This doesn't happen often, but it is still terrifying to know that he is capable of doing it.
I nod my head. I can be the one to punish them. It won’t be one that he likes but that’s what happens when he lets me be in charge.
“I am glad to see that you aren’t worrying about the coronation.”He says with a smirk.
I didn’t even think about the coronation part. I feel my muscles tighten up and I probably feel like a plank is his lap now.
He lets out a sigh, probably regretting bringing it up to me. “The coronation will be my way of letting everyone know that you are my mate. That I belong to you.” He places a kiss on my forehead causing me to blush.
“Alright, I just hope that I don’t have to speak. I know there’s a lot of people in your pack and I will probably start stuttering.”
He laughed a little. “You will not have to speak unless you want to, there is nothing that will be required from you. You will do what you want to do.” He lifted up the last piece of egg from the plate to my lips. “For the coronation I will have a few dresses picked for you, while I already have tiara’s waiting for you to pick out.”
This peaked my interest, ever since Benjamin showed me his vision the only tiara I can imagine myself wearing is that one. “That’s exciting, are they here?”
He switched the plates so that his was in front of us now. He pulled me back so that my back was pressed against his chest before he picked up his fork. “Yes, they are here I will show them to you as soon as I am done eating.”
I relaxed against him, burying my face in his neck.
“Arabella this is reckless, I know how much you need magic but this?” The blonde woman threw her hands in the air before slapping her palms against her thighs. “This will get you killed!”
Her back was still turned to me, but her hair is different. It Is considerably longer than it was last time, and her curls looked more s-shaped. Still the same with the other visions that I have had of Arabella, her face is still not shown to me.
“Please calm down Val, don’t you see I’m doing this for us? First they shamed me for who I am then they do exactly what they shamed me for to gain the upper hand against their enemies. If it wasn’t for me they wouldn’t even know anything!”
Val gripped the ends of her hair before tugging a little bit. “At least let me go with you!”
“No, it’s too dangerous for you, but believe in me please. I will get the revenge that I need.”
My vision went black before I was able to see again. I focused on his almost empty plate of food in front of me until my vision is in focus again.
“You dozed off a little bit, Marisol.” He said with a chuckle. “I thought that us talking maybe bored you.”
I shake my head no very fast. My movements were so fast that if it wasn’t for his arm that was tucked tightly around me I’m sure that I would have fallen off of his lap. “No! I just got really comfortable and was relaxing.”
He nodded, he probably knew that I was seeing parts of my dream from last night but he didn’t push it. I'm glad that he is understanding of the fact that I'm not ready to share my vision with him yet.
He loosened his grip on me before helping me stand. “Alright let’s go look at the tiaras.”
