MonsterVille

Chapter Nineteen

“You made a deal with him?!” River fumed. “I can’t believe you!”

“I didn’t have much choice,” Mellie replied as she reclined on a soft couch in one of the many parlours spread through Brannagh’s immense house. The room was comfortably laid out with a plush sofa, a bay window looking out over the water and a small coffee table in the centre of the room. Parlour, drawing room, whatever you wanted to call it Mellie found it comfortable. “If I didn’t make a deal he would have killed me and taken you, this way seemed better.”

“I thought you said he was honourable.”

“He is,” Mellie hedged, “for the most part.” She added, “He’s trying to protect his family. It’s actually one of his best qualities, that he is willing to risk everything for them. I mean he could just as easily kick start a little breeding ring with a few of his mers and pump out the babies for Nic, it would be a solution that would keep everyone breathing.”

“So why doesn’t he just do that? Why bother trying to run.”

Mellie looked at him and wondered how he could be so dense, “Because giving your babies to a monster to eat is abhorrent.” She said slowly, “Brannagh would rather cut off his own testicles with a rusty butter knife than do that.”

“Oh so it’s ok for him to breed humans so monsters can eat their babies but it’s suddenly so wrong when someone wants to do the same to him?” River was becoming noticeably agitated.

“Have you ever eaten veal?” Mellie asked seemingly off topic.

“What? Yeah I guess, what does that have to do with anything?”

“Nothing.” Mellie replied, “And everything. You eat baby cow because they’re just animals to you, food. But you wouldn’t eat your own children because that would be disgusting. Monsters think exactly the same way, for the most part, humans are just animals to them.” It was only after she had said it that Mellie realised she had said ‘them’ and not ‘us’. Freudian slip. It was funny how that would come out after she began to feel her monster side stirring more strongly than she ever had before.

River stopped pacing and slumped down on the couch beside Mellie.

“So we’re just going to stay here?” he crossed his arms aggressively.

“You are,” she corrected, “as far as the town will be concerned I just sold you to Brannagh in exchange for protection. Which means I need to leave, go about my business as if I haven’t a concern in the world.”

“You’re not just saying that are you?” he asked nervously, “I mean you aren’t just-just telling me what I want to hear so I won’t make a scene when you leave are you?”

She touched his cheek, “River if I really intended to leave you to Brannagh and his harem I wouldn’t care what you thought one way or another, but I’m not because I do. Understand?”

“Not even a little but I’m learning to accept blissful ignorance.”

She patted his cheek as she stood up. “Atta boy. I’ll be back in a few hours, tomorrow at the latest so in the meantime relax, enjoy yourself.”

“Enjoy myself?” he mouthed.

Mellie smiled as she left. “Have fun,” she called back to him.

Mellie wasn’t out of the room more than a minute when the gorgeous blonde in the red bathing suit came waltzing into the room, she posed provocatively to ensure she had his attention before she curled up alongside him on the couch.

“Hi,” she said in a pert voice as she pressed herself into him, her chest warm against him even through the damp bathing suit.

“Ah,” he had to clear his throat to speak; “hi?” he managed to get out.

She was a guy’s wet dream and she had practically thrown herself into his lap. Somebody up there was having a good laugh at River’s expense as he tried to hold onto a shred of morality. Mentally at least, his body was already rising to the occasion and at his dismayed look the woman chuckled. Her hand lightly resting along his thigh.

“If you’re not interested…” she offered, “I mean we’re all probably going to die soon,” she pointed out as she bit her lip innocently. “I was just looking for a little companionship, a little comfort?” Her hand inched its way along his leg and River clenched his fists in frustration. It was one thing to take the high road when it was all philosophical but when a woman was pressed up against him practically begging to rip his clothes off it was a whole different story. Think about the kids, he tried to tell himself, think about all the bad things that would happen if you did this.

“Please stop,” he squeaked out in a very small voice, “Please?”

“Are you sure?” she asked with a trembling lower lip and pouty expression, her voice had also dropped into a husky tone, “I mean it’s just a little fun…”

He grabbed her hand and pulled it away.

“I said stop.”

“And yet another burn,” Aura announced from the doorway. River’s head jerked towards her and she motioned for the blonde playboy bunny to leave. She did so happily, he could see the bounce in her step as she walked away from him and he breathed a sigh of relief. Right up until Aura dropped into his lap.

“For the record my tasty little human, you don’t get to say no to me.”

“Ah…” she leant in and placed her supple lips against his. The first time she kissed him had been cold and chapped, not unpleasant exactly but not the nicest sensation either. This time her lips were warm and her tongue was probing. He melted into that kiss against his own volition and he moaned in pleasure as her hands roamed over her body.

“That was different,” he panted. She smiled knowingly.

“The more time I spend in this form the more human my body is,” she remarked before she left a trail of warm kisses down his throat. “The first time I kissed you,” she whispered, her breath hot against his neck, “I had just changed. I’ve been wearing this body for hours now, just for you.” Aura was already naked, her warm body heating his own as she ripped his shirt open. The material tearing like paper as her trail of kisses made their way down to his chest. She bit him ever so gently, teased his skin between her teeth until blood broke through the surface. It was her turn to moan as she licked along the trail, his blood was still on her lips when she kissed him again. He was getting the idea monsters had a thing for those bloody kisses given it was exactly what Katie had done and she had seemed to enjoy it every bit as much as Aura was.

“I have a confession to make,” Aura whispered as her fingers slipped beneath his belt, “I’ve never been with a human before.” She snapped the buckle and yanked the belt away with a flick of her wrist sending it clattering across the room.

“I guess we’re even then,” he said breathlessly, “I’ve never been with a mer before.”

“Mmm,” she murmured as she pressed her mouth to his stomach, “You’re so warm. Mers aren’t warm, we’re cold as the depths of the ocean,” she educated him even as she stripped him of his jeans and left his very erect body exposed to the warm morning air. The sun was just rising through the bay window, bathing the room in light, bathing Aura and showing just how spectacular she was. “And when we make love to one another it is a cold frigid thing, a rote insertion, a lifeless thing, but you?” She grabbed him and squeezed till he gasped before she took him into her mouth. Her teeth running along him hard enough to hurt as she worked him over. When she came up and looked through her ragged mop of hair to meet his eyes River took hold of her shoulders and stopped her.

“Human men like this,” she said in confusion, “I’m sure of it.”

“Some do, most do,” River said quietly. It was like a sex ed lesson back in high school, action intermingled with way too much talking, “but I like to look in a woman’s eyes.” She moved up his body, her breasts tickling along his member as she rose up until she knelt above him. She moved in to kiss him and as she did so he positioned himself directly beneath the warm wet part of her womanhood. She still knelt above him and he used his hands on her arms to push her down in one sharp motion. He thrust up inside of her and she gasped with the sensation. For a moment she sat there with him inside of her, just staring into his eyes but slowly she began to move, began to rise and fall against him. Her skin grew hot with her exertion and as she slowed for a brief moment River wrapped his arms around her waist and turned her into the couch. She fell beneath him and he took control, his fingers entwining with hers as he leant down to kiss her and set a new pace, a faster, harder pace that brought her to a gasping, screaming release.
