Chapter Jason's POV.
2 weeks earlier.
I’m leaning against the wall with a beer in my hand, looking at the party unfold when Rick comes over. “Not feeling in the party mood?”
I grunt. It’s not like I don’t like to party, but sometimes I just want to lean back and relax. Kind of hard to do with the loud music and all the shouting. Besides, this is a club party. They tend to get a little rowdy. The former Alpha decided to start a MC club. Don’t really know why.
“Not really,” I say.
He leans against that wall next to me and takes a big gulp of his bear. I Look around at all my brothers. Not by blood, but by bond. As a MC club, we have each other’s backs, as a pack, even more so.
Mike comes over with a smile on his boyish looking face and clink his beers with ours “Did you hear about the chick?”
“Chick,” I ask with a raised brow.
“Yeah, there was this totally hot little chick at the diner today, asking if there were any fights going on in town.” That gets my attention. We've never had a woman fight in this town. Only men. And that’s because most fighters are wolves, and they would crush a woman. “What did you tell her,” Rick asks.
“Nothing... At first,” Mike says while scratching his neck.
“What?”
“Yeah, I saw her in town, went over and told her about the fight tomorrow.” That pisses Rick off. “For fucks sake, Mike, Charlie is fighting tomorrow.” I look over to the couch and see him getting a lap dance from a woman in very little clothes. He’s a fucking mountain of a man and undefeated in 2 months.
“I Don’t know. I think she could surprise you. She’s small and toned as fuck,” Mike says. “Besides, she has all these scars...” He scratches his chin. “I think she can handle herself.”
Just then, Tania comes over. “Hey Jason. Wanna take me to your room?” Rick and Mike disappear like the pussies they are, and leaves me alone with her. “No Tania, I told you before, we’re over!”
I’ve hooked up with her in the past, but I broke it off because she got too clingy. I didn’t feel anything for her, and I told her that from the beginning, but she keeps coming back, almost begging me to fuck her. Most of the single women in our pack tries to be our Old ladies, but none of us want that. Being in a relationship and finding our mates would be a mess.
“Please Jason, it’s been so long since we’ve been together.”
“Doesn’t change my mind, Tania. Now go away.” She pouts but still does as I say.
I have a big wish to find my mate. To have a family and live a quiet life, but I love a good fight. I love violence. Not out of the blue, but when it’s needed, I’m there. Plus, I’m the club enforcer. I have to be alert if shit goes down, both in the club, but also in the pack. That doesn’t really scream father of the year.
I’m a little intrigued about the girl Mike talked about. He’s usually good at spotting good fighters, but seriously, a girl? I have to see it for myself at the fight tomorrow.
With that in mind, I finish my beer, go home, and go to bed.

The next morning, I make my way down into the kitchen, where Janet, Rick’s mate and old lady, is making breakfast.
“Hey hon. Are you hungry,” she asks.
I smile at her. “Very.” She fixes me a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon. Luckily, I get a little peace and quiet before the guys come into the kitchen. Mike sits down next to me with a big grin. “Ready for the big fight tonight, Carlie?”
He grins back at him “You know it.”
“Just a heads up, you might get challenged by a girl tonight.”
Everybody laughs.
“Are you fucking serious,” he asks.
“Yep. Told her about it myself.”
“Are you fucking crazy? You know I don’t fight girls!”
I watch their little discussion about this girl and get more and more intrigued. If she can kick his ass, he will never hear the end of it.
The rest of the day, we just hang out around the house, most of the boys nursing their hangovers.
By evening, everybody but the girls are ready to go see the fight. We get on our bikes and ride over to the parking garage. By the sound of it, we are late because the roaring crowd can be heard out on the street. When we get to the lower level, I smell her. It’s a freaking fantastic scent. Pushing my way through the crowd, I see her.
Malok, my wolf, goes crazy, taking over my actions. I storm over to her growling, “MINE!”
When she sees me, she lets go of whatever hold she has on Charlie, jumps up into the air and knocks me out on the spot.
I wake up a couple of minutes later by Mike slapping my chin. “Jason? Fuck, Jason are you alright?”
It takes me a moment to find out where I am and what the fuck happened. “What the... Where is she?” I get up from the ground, dust myself off, and shake my head to focus.
“She ran that way,” Rick says and points to the exit of the parking garage.
I immediately start running after her, and I see her down the street. Running as fast as I can, I try to reach her, but she runs fucking fast.
“HEY STOP.”
For a moment her steps falter, and she look like she's struggling to move forward, so I push my body as much as I can, tackle her to the ground, and pin her under me.
“Hi.” That’s all I can say. That’s all my brain can come up with
“GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME,” she screams.
“No.”
“GET.OFF!”
“No. You’re my mate. If you think I’m letting you go, you’re insane.”
“I’m not your fucking mate. You got the wrong girl!” I know I don’t. Her smell is alluring and calming. Like a bonfire on a cold night. Plus, Maloc is going insane, scratching under the surface. I KNOW she’s my mate.
All of the sudden, she gets warm. Her eyes light up in a bright, orange color and her body burns me.
“What the…ow, ow, OW.” She pushes me off her and runs away. I dance around, slapping my jeans to get the heat out of them.
What the fuck is she? She’s not a wolf,
“Mate.”
“Yes, I know, Maloc, but...” Then I hear footsteps behind me. Turning around, I see all the guys come towards me. Charlie is looking like shit. Did she really kick his ass?
“What the hell was that,” Mike asks.
I look back down the street, but she’s long gone. “That was my mate,” I say out of breath.
“WHAT?”
I nod with a big grin spreading on my face. “Yea. I found her. I fucking found her.”
“That little shit is your mate," Charlie asks. "Fuck, Jason. She just won by knocking me out!”
My grin grows even bigger.
“We have to find her.”
“We will, Malok. We will.”
Driving back to the pack house, all I think about is her. I can’t believe that I found my mate. Not everybody is that lucky.
When get home to the pack house around midnight, we all slump down on couches and chairs in the large living room with a beer in our hands.
“So... you got beaten by a girl, Charlie,” I say with a big grin, and everybody bursts out laughing.
He grunts. “Hey, she was freaking fast and strong. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“And she’s your mate,” Rick says with a smirk. I nod “Yeah, but…she’s not a wolf.”
Rick quirks a brow. “That can’t be right, She’s not human either.”
I shake my head. “She did this weird thing by heating up her body, almost burning my dick off. And her eyes turned orange," I say. Everybody is quiet for a moment. The only one who isn’t fazed by this is Mike. “See? Can I pick em’, or can I pick em’.”
“Next time, don’t pick someone like her,” Charlie says. We all laugh. Watching this mountain of a man pout is the funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time. Then he turns serious “Did you see all the scars on her? They’re everywhere on her body.”
“Yeah, I saw them.” I frown, “But fuck that. I’m going after her!”
“We’re right there with you, Jason. Right guys,” Rick asks. Everybody nod. “Besides, if she’s not a wolf, we need to figure out why you're mates. Wolves usually only mate with other wolves. Nothing like this has ever happened before.”

Two weeks later, we finally found her. Everyone helped. Especially Rick. He found Janet when he was 40, s knows what a great change in life it is and that the sooner you find your mate, the better.
I knock on the door and wait for a response.
’Who is it,” she asks.
“Housekeeping. Who the fuck do you think it is? Open the door.”
