Chapter 66
Vivianna didn't know what was wrong with herself as she didn't loosen her hands. Besides, her hatred toward Augustine before was gone. However, there was a question lingering in her mind. Was that man really on her side?
Being forced into the passenger seat by Augustine, Vivianna was still in puzzlement. Augustine went into the driver's seat. Seeing that she even forgot to wear the seat belt, his well-built body leaned over. Vivianna was frightened. She hastily shoved herself against the window and looked at him warily, "What are you trying to do?"
Seeing her being startled, Augustine grumbled, "Even if I want to do something, the space is not enough for me to show off my skills." His slender arm reached over her and he buckled the seatbelt for her. Vivianna was speechless as he wore a sh*tty attitude when he merely wanted to buckle the seatbelt for her.
It was already past one o'clock in the afternoon. Augustine suggested, "Let's eat first. I'll drive you to the company after lunch. We'll pick up our son later." Vivianna's face became scorching hot for no reason. He said "our son" so naturally as if they were husband and wife.
Vivianna didn't say anything, but she obviously didn't want to have lunch with him. Augustine didn't care if she'd agreed, he drove to a restaurant that he frequently visited.
In the private room of the restaurant.
Augustine ordered a table of scrumptious food. Vivianna was still feeling a little awkward and did not feel like talking. When it came to that man, she often felt that she had nothing to say.
"Don't you want to talk to me?" Augustine opened the red wine nonchalantly.
Vivianna turned to the window and replied casually, "There's nothing to say."
"I will tell you everything you want to know." Augustine narrowed his eyes. He knew that she had a lot of things to ask.
Vivianna was stunned. She looked up at him and spoke, "What does your family think about Zeph? Do they want to take him back like you do?"
"He only met my grandfather. My parents are still abroad." Augustine answered.
"What did your grandfather say?" Vivianna was very curious.
"He wants Zeph to go back to the Giltstone family." Augustine told the truth.
Vivianna's chest tightened all of a sudden. Then, her eyes were full of anger and she said, "I won't agree."
Augustine looked at her calmly and said in a low voice, "Vivianna, calm down. If my family really wants to take Zeph away, do you think you have a say in it? They have so many ways to make you give up on your custody over Zeph."
"Unless you want me to die." Vivianna's eyes turned red.
"If you die, Zeph won't have a mother. Could you stand it?"
Vivianna's nose twitched, his words made her tears fall down.
Augustine stared at her and said calmly, "So, if you want to fight for Zeph's custody, you must do as I say. At the very least, you will still get to stay with him."
Vivianna looked at him blankly. Of course, she would not forget that he was also a member of the Giltstone family. He once said that he wanted to take her son away from her. However, right then, looking at his deep and unfathomable eyes, even if she could not read them, her heart believed him. She tried to hold back her tears and looked at him with tears in her eyes, "Then what should I do?"
Augustine stared at her calmly and spoke, "Live with me for a year."
"What will happen after that?" Vivianna asked in a hoarse voice.
Augustine became helpless. Was she not looking forward to the year?
His thick-long eyelashes twitched and he answered, "If we are not going to get married in a year, I will give up on Zeph's custody."
"Marriage?" Vivianna looked at him in surprise.
Augustine couldn't help but lean over and get close to her. He looked at her with a pair of charming eyes, "Don't you want to give Zeph a complete family?"
Vivianna's mind was in a mess. That man had too many requests so she couldn't digest them in one go. She took a deep breath and replied, "Are you a man of your word?"
"If you don't believe what I said, you can record it and use it as an evidence when I have to give up on my son's custody in the future." Augustine proposed.
Vivianna picked up the phone. Augustine frowned and thought. Did that woman really not believe in me?'
"Okay, I'll record it. Say it again." Vivianna really didn't believe him. After all, he was the first person in the Giltstone family who would want to rob her son.
Augustine's face was brooded.
Holding her phone, he took the initiative to take a video, "I promise Vivianna Carlewood that if we are not married within a year, I am willing to give up on my son, Zephaniah Carlewood."
Vivianna took the phone and checked the recording. It seemed that she had gone too far so she put the phone away and looked at the man in front of her with a captivating smile, "Thank you." Augustine felt that he had gone insane. For that woman, not only did he choose to oppose to his grandfather, but he also had to be scrutinized by her like that?
By that time, the dishes had been served and they fell into silence. Vivianna peeped at the man in front of her several times, wanting to know why he was willing to help her to such extent that he would even give up on his son's custody.
Only Augustine knew the answer.
Because, within a year, he not only wanted his son, but also that woman.
However, it was much more difficult to conquer that woman than he had imagined. Therefore, within a year, he had to do his best and make full use of his charm to seduce her.
He didn't believe that she was as still as a mountain.
What women couldn't stand the most was a man's kindness.
Thus, within that year, he would spoil her!
Vivianna was tasting the dishes with full attention. She didn't know what Augustine was thinking and the man's gentle and sweet trap which was awaiting her.
After dinner, Augustine sent her to her company. Vivianna glanced at him and then Augustine left.
When Vivianna returned to the office, the first thing she did was to transfer the recording to the computer and send it to her private Cloud.
After that she put on the earpiece and listened carefully to that sentence.
There was only one thought popped out on her mind while she was listening to the recording. The man's voice was soothing, magnetic, enchanting and mellow like wine. After listening to it for a dozen times, she stopped. If she listened again, she would be fascinated by his voice. Thus, she buried herself in a bunch of design drafts.
In the large office of Lambert
Enterprise, Xenophilius Lambert slammed the table with a gloomy face and shouted at the seniors, "Who leaked the news? Why did Giltstone Enterprise have the chance to take our customers away? "President Lambert, we don't know it either!
Giltstone Enterprise has never been interested in shipping industry. Why did they rob our customer out of the blue? We have no clue."
