Chapter 27
Augustine nibbled his seductive thin lips while staring at her coldly. He tried to negotiate with her, saying, "What do you want? How much do you want? Name me a price, and I will satisfy your demands." Money? D*mn it, this man thought that he could disrespect others just because he was rich?
"I don't want anything except my son. You'd better stay away from my son." Vivianna warned him.
Augustine narrowed his eyes, and they flashed dangerously. This woman was really stubborn. He snorted lightly and said, "If necessary, we will go to court. I believe that my lawyers will let you know who is qualified to raise this child."
This was a threat.
Moreover, it was not an ordinary threat.
Her eyes widened slightly. Over the years, she wasn't idle in the company. People who had a high status like him would not lose in court. In this case, he was trying to pressure her with his wealth and power. "Let's meet in court then. I'm not afraid of you." Vivianna refused to be intimidated, and she refused to back down.
"Alright, we will proceed as per your wishes. Please wait for a court summons! Also, I will be bringing my son home tonight," Augustine said with a resolute expression.
Vivianna bit her red lips. She was absolutely enraged. She really wanted to slap him in the face. She had lost everything because of that night four years ago. Now, he was going to take her son away? "That will be impossible. He will never be with anyone else except for me." Vivianna's pretty almond-shaped eyes were red and they were filled with resentment.
Augustine stared at her impatiently. He hated women's tears the most.
Zephaniah was playing in Yazlynn's office. He was still worried about his daddy and his mommy.
Zephaniah thought, since his parents were meeting for the first time in four years, he wasn't sure if they would quarrel or not. Therefore, he wanted to come and have a look.
While Yazlynn was washing fruits, he sneaked out of the office and ran to Augustine's office. He pushed the door open without thinking.
Augustine was facing the door, so when he heard the sound of the door opening, he instantly knew that the little guy had entered the room. Looking at the angry woman in front of him who was in tears,
Augustine instinctively made a move. He jerked his strong arm and he pulled the tearful woman in front of him forcefully into his embrace.
Vivianna was startled and she looked up. Tears were still in her eyes. Before she could react, she heard a surprised voice. "Wow! Daddy and Mommy are hugging each other!"
Augustine smiled in a low voice. "Yes, your mommy is too excited. She's crying."
Vivianna glowered at him. This man was spouting nonsense. It was clear that he had caused her to become angry, but he still dared to say this.
"Mommy, you must be very happy to see daddy, aren't you? Don't cry. Be brave and strong like me." The little guy consoled his mother with the words she had taught him.
Vivianna was exhausted, and she felt that she was breaking down inside. She struggled to escape from Augustine's arms, and a trace of disgust flashed across her face. She resisted the touch of this man who had come to take her child away from her.
"Well, that's it. We have a deal tonight. We will have dinner at my house tonight," Augustine suddenly announced in a low voice.
Vivianna raised her head and glared at him, protesting with her eyes.
The little guy was already jumping with joy. "Really? Mommy, can we really go to daddy's house for dinner? Yeah! I finally have a daddy! From now on, Fatty can't say that I don't have a daddy."
Vivianna was about to reject his offer, but when she heard her son's excited voice at this moment, she couldn't bring herself to do so. When they were abroad, other children had bullied him because he didn't have a daddy. Therefore, Zephaniah had been traumatized.
This caused her the most guilt and pain. At this moment, how could she be cruel and shatter her son's dream?
