Mister Ōkami

Chapter A Lesson Learned

“Mommy, mommy!” a little voice calls out.

“Penny, what do you have there?” another voice, soothing, flowing like sand, asks.

“I found a wolf attached to the old bull’s horns! Lookie! Not so tough now, is she?!” the little voice asks.

“She looks dead,” the mother says.

I’m not dead… I’m being suspended in the air by magic. I groan, moving slightly, but that causes blood to splatter out onto the ground. I can barely see…my vision is blurry…

“Oh, never mind. She’s alive. Barely,” the mother says. “I’ll take her, thanks.”

I feel myself get passed to the other individual. I thought things couldn’t get any worse, and then, just barely, I see whomever it is open their mouth and I get shoved inside. I panic, flailing a little, but the more I move, the more blood I lose. I feel my body slide down the tight warm throat…down, and further down still.

Splash! I land inside the creature’s stomach! I expect it to burn, but, for some reason, it feels good. I sigh, relaxing. The warm fluid surrounds me, bubbling like a carbonated drink.

“That’s it, relax…” I hear a voice echo around me.

“So…so cozy…” I moan.

The bubbling intensifies, the fluid covering almost my entire body. The stomach walls pulsate rhythmically and the fluids flow over my face. I’m just gonna let this strange creature digest me. If I have to go, can it at least be comfortable?

I wake up… Apparently I fell asleep. I’m not dead, still? How do you get eaten and not die? I don’t feel the pain in my sides anymore where I was gored.

“Did you sleep well?” I hear the voice echo around me again.

“Yes. Why am I still alive?” I ask.

“I saved you,” the voice says. “Look, your wounds are healed.”

I check and, sure enough, I’m not bleeding anymore. My wounds are healed up and there’s hardly any sign I ever was in danger. This is no ordinary creature… This is a being who has mastered healing vore.

“Thank you…” I say.

“Hang on, let me return you to the world…” the voice says.

Next thing I know, I’ve been sucked into the intestines! The excess fluid gets reabsorbed as I slide through the intestines like a funnel. POP! I get pooped out, completely healed and dried off. It’s a unicorn! I should have known!

“Hello, Ms. Wolf,” the unicorn says with a smile.

“H-hi…” I say.

“Don’t worry, I’m a peaceful creature. Why are you here, though? I had thought all the wolves were extinct,” the unicorn says.

“I… I was looking for food…” I say, crouching nervously. “But I hurt a sheep and got too scared to kill her…”

“You have a kind heart, I can see it,” the unicorn says. “Unicorn magic, even after all these years, is still highly unstable and even dangerous at times…but if you are in dire need, I’d be happy to provide you with food.”

“I have a family… Little pups, even. If I don’t bring home food, they will go hungry,” I say, a half lie (we still have enough food in storage).

“Very well, take this,” the unicorn says.

Using magic, the unicorn spawns a pile of meat. I can’t even tell what animals it came off of if any at all. Did she literally just murder a bunch of animals just to provide for me? Regardless, I am thankful.

“I hope that is enough,” the unicorn says. “If you should hunger again, call me.”

“How do I call for you if I do not know your name?” I ask.

“Use this whistle,” the unicorn says, pushing a small green seashell to me.

“Thank you, is there anything I can do for you?” I ask.

“Not really, but that’s alright,” the unicorn answers.

“I’m sorry. I’m going to take this and leave…” I say.

“Go ahead, wait, here, temporary invisibility spell. That way the bull doesn’t see you again,” the unicorn says.

I swallow all the meat for storage. Then, the unicorn turns me invisible. I can hardly walk with this much food in my stomach, but I have to be fast or else the spell will wear off before I get safely off the farmlands. Penny, the baby unicorn, waves goodbye to me.

I get back and the spell has worn off. It doesn’t look like border patrol is back yet. In the time that I was gone, most of the mud wall has been repaired and the helicopter fragments have been dragged off. I spit up all the meat…that’s a LOT of meat!

Lesson learned the hard way… If you aren’t the fastest strongest wolf, do NOT bother the bulls. The other wolves in the den are surprised at my large pile of meat. Altogether, I’ve brought in enough meat for 27 wolves all on my own. That should cover 72 wolves when combined with yesterday’s leftovers.

Since border patrol isn’t back yet, I head off to do my now routine check ins. I enter the healing room, much to Frostt’s annoyance. Chain’s bleeding has stopped again for now, though I’m awfully concerned about how much blood he has lost lately. Hash is STILL not improving.

Then there is Quickie. This morning she was actively recovering, but now the bandage has come loose and her guts are hanging out again. I can see smudges where Frostt has been cleaning up spilt blood. This is really bad…

“I’m doing the best I can, Suisen. I doubt you’d have much more luck,” Frostt grumbles. “I go to take care of one and then another’s health starts failing again.”

“Perhaps you should just accept the fact that you need help. One wolf can only do so much and you’re already doing everything you can,” I say.

“No! Never! I WILL heal all three on my own!” Frostt says with a snarl.

I give up and leave. Off to the nursery room to check on Jewel and Viper. I swear, I’ll lose my mind if Jewel is still getting bigger. No, at long last, the mass is shrinking.

“That’s four total, I believe,” Jewel says. “But look! They are shrinking back down into fetuses now!”

“And mine, luckily, hasn’t grown. So they should also start shrinking down soon,” Viper says.

“Imagine that, we’re going to be the first two wolves to give birth in our harem,” Jewel says, licking Viper affectionately.

“Unfortunate the circumstances in which it has occurred, though,” Viper says.

“I’m glad you didn’t burst,” I say.

“Yo, Suisen, the border patrol is back!” Jell announces suddenly.

Everyone who was on border patrol has returned! No deaths, but Dilly’s right ankle is dislocated and she’s holding it off the ground. Unlike last time’s crazy 10 wolf haul, today, only two new wolves have been located. Appears we have a boy pup and an adult male…and Mr. Ōkami seems rather annoyed by this.

“My pack! We have returned! The city and outskirts are barren again, but we found two more boys in The Feral Lands. A three month old pup and an unrelated 10 year old male. Not going to lie, I don’t like this guy,” Mr. Ōkami says.

“You should have seen the droves of security officers raiding The Feral Lands. They were searching every den, capturing all the wolves. Any who resisted were slaughtered immediately, and I assume the rest will be tortured to death later,” the ten year old says. “I found this orphan and then you guys found me. Oh! Oh! And my favorite foods are boogers and poop!”

“And that’s why I hate him. He’s a literal poop eater,” Mr. Ōkami says.

“Desperate times call for desperate measures!” the guy says, his tongue lolling out.

“Wowie! Something other than poop!” the pup says, noticing the meat pile.

“Suisen, you caught all this yourself? Why is a lot of it already portioned out?” Mr. Ōkami asks.

“I thought it would be helpful if I broke the meat apart for easier carrying,” I lie.

“I see. Well, then, let us feast!” Mr. Ōkami says. “My suspicions were correct, you DO have potential to be a good hunter!”

I feel a little guilty because I didn’t hunt most of this myself. At the same time, providing meat without having to kill for it? That’s a very good thing… Then again… unicorn magic could be dangerous…

Everyone eats and we have enough left for 31 wolves. Nobody seems to notice that the meat is fake and, even when I take my two slabs, it tastes real. It’s juicy, bloody…you can even feel the muscle texture. Mr. Ōkami looks pleased.

“That’s the finest meat I have eaten in a long time!” Mr. Ōkami exclaims.

“Thank you, Alpha…” I say.

“I should send you out hunting more often!” Mr. Ōkami says.

“Hmmm, it’s good, but it’s not poop…” that weird new wolf comments, looking a bit disappointed.

“Wait until he sees the poop pile…” Walk whispers to me.

“You don’t think he’ll actually try to eat it, do you?” I ask, looking shocked and disgusted.

“He might,” Walk says with a shrug.

“Is it sleepy time?” Kibby asks with a big yawn.

“Sure is, Kibby,” I say with a yawn.

Kibby puts his head in my mouth. I accidentally almost bite him. Startled, I spit his head out. He shakes the saliva off of his head, grinning.

“What’s wrong?!” he asks.

“You put your head in my mouth. I could have accidentally bitten you,” I say.

“You have a secret tunnel!” Kibby says.

“That’s my throat, Kibby… All that leads to is my stomach,” I say.

“Cool! Sounds fun!” Kibby says.

“No, not fun. You’d die,” I say.

“What?! That’s bad!” Kibby says, pouting.

“Yeah, so don’t try that on me again… Now, if I were, say, a unicorn…go for it,” I say.

“You a uni!” Kibby barks.

“No, not me,” I say with a laugh.

“Uni!” Kibby says again.

He attempts to bite me, but it doesn’t hurt at all. His tiny teeth are still mostly covered by gum. I spit up some regurgitated meat and that settles him down. With his tail wagging, he slurps up the softened meat.

“Thanks! Bye, uni!” Kibby says and trots away.

I watch him leave. He’s still young, he has time to learn how to be polite… I sigh and curl up with Kurai. Kurai lifts her sleepy head and licks my face.

“Rest well, Kurai,” I say with another big yawn.

“You too, Suisen,” Kurai says.

The next morning, I awake to someone groaning in pain. Is that the pups?! No…that voice is too deep to be a pup… I look around and notice Bound hunched over with blood dripping from his mouth.

“Bound?” I call out, walking over to him.

“Stay away…” Bound growls. “Alpha will kill me if he sees you this close to me…”

“You’re bleeding,” I point out. “And groaning so loudly.”

“My teeth…they hurt…” Bound groans.

“How did this happen? You’re too young to lose your teeth,” I say.

“I don’t know…” Bound says, licking up some of the blood. “It hurts so bad!”

“Go see Frostt, she can help you,” I suggest.

“But she’s a girl, too! Would Alpha really let her touch me?!” Bound wails.

“May as well go now before he wakes up,” I prompt.

“O-Okay…” Bound says.

“I’m heading there anyways, I can walk you there,” I say.

“Sounds like double trouble, but, sure,” Bound says.

I walk with him down to the healing room. The whole way, he drips blood from his mouth. I step in and Frostt awakens, irritated as a snake who’s nest just got interrupted. She then notices Bound and his bloody mouth.

“Bound, you’re bleeding,” Frostt says.

“No duh,” Bound says, wincing in pain.

While Frostt is examining his mouth, I sneak over to the pups. Chain is stable again and so is Hash. Unfortunately, though, Quickie’s condition has greatly deteriorated. Frostt is distracted, so I gently pick up the 7 month old pup and carry her away.

I locate Bounce as fast as I can and paw her awake. At first, she is confused, then she notices Quickie. I would summon the unicorn, but I don’t think there’s enough time for that; the pup is literally about to die any moment now. Bounce yawns and lifts a leg and I help put Quickie into her womb.

“Careful of her intestines,” Bounce whines.

The intestines are an issue. I whine, gently pawing them in. Bounce groans, but accepts the pup into her body. It is done… Quickie will soon join Brain and the unnamed pup.

“Good thing you got me when you did,” Bounce says, panting. “I had thought I was going to have to unbirth Hash, but it seems Quickie was worse off.”

“You can thank Bound. If he wasn’t groaning, I wouldn’t have woken up in time,” I say.

“Where’s Frostt? Wasn’t she supposed to keep an eye on the injured pups?” Bounce asks, gently licking her side.

“She was asleep, but now she’s checking out Bound’s mouth bleed,” I say.

“WHERE IS SHE?! WHERE IS THAT *****?!” Frostt screeches suddenly.
