Mistaking the CEO for a Gigolo

Chapter 2051

Chapter 2051 Domestic Troubles

Levant narrowed his eyes in suspicion. How quickly you change your tune. Afraid of my fists, perhaps?

“Care for a tour?” he offered. Davin gazed hesitantly at his wife. “Actually, we’ve come today because my wife would like a word with yours. Where is she, by the way?”

“It’s been ages since I last spoke to Tiffany,” Sheila added. “She’s at work. You need to schedule an appointment if you want to speak with her.” “An appointment?” Davin and Sheila exchanged startled glances.

“You heard me right. Her company has recently launched a subsidiary which has taken up so much of her time that even Luke couldn’t see his mother as much as he would like.”

“Aren’t you worried she would wear herself out?” Sheila asked with concern.

Levant looked suddenly forlorn. “Of course, I am! I have the cook prepare a bowl of broth every night for her. She has so little time to spare for meals that I practically have to beg and coerce her to finish it in front of me. Though I admire and respect such ferocious dedication to her career, I’m really worried for her health.”

Davin and Sheila exchanged glances in silent acknowledgment of Levant’s pain. His attitude toward Tiffany has changed completely.

“I can give her a call and tell her you have some urgent matters to discuss with her,” Levant suggested. “She could use a break away from work, too.”

Without waiting for a response, he pulled out his phone and called his wife. “What is it?” Tiffany asked curtly seconds later.

“Sheila and Davin are looking for you. There’s something urgent they wish to talk to you about.”

“What about? I still have several reports that need my urgent attention, on top of meetings with two potential partners this afternoon. And-”

“Look at you, Tiffany,” Levant chided gently. “You’re becoming a workaholic! I wonder if you still remember your life outside of work. You have a home, a son, friends, a husband…”

“I’ll come back now,” said Tiffany meekly after a long pause. Sheila was amused by his irritation. “You look like you’re not getting enough attention from the wife,” she remarked after Levant hung up.

“I’d say,” added Davin cheekily. “Who knew you would one day care about Tiffany’s well-being? We certainly didn’t!”

“What are you two talking about?” demanded Levant, flustered.

“Ooh, it seems like we’ve struck a nerve, Davin.”

“You appear to be right, my love,” Davin said graciously before leaning close and whispering to Levant, “Things are not going well in the bedroom, huh?”

“Get out!” he roared.

“Aha! So that’s what’s happening!”

Levant aimed a kick at Davin who danced nimbly out of reach.

Several minutes later, Tiffany arrived and glanced apologetically at Sheila and Davin. “Sorry, things have been crazy recently. Levant said you needed help with something? Let’s hear it. I’ll do my best to help you.”

Sheila studied her friend closely, who had indeed grown haggard since she last saw her. Though Tiffany exuded an assertiveness now, it came at the cost of perpetual anxiety that seemed to follow her no matter where she went.

“It’s nothing much, actually,” Sheila said quickly. “I’m just having a bad couple of days and would like to talk to you about it.”

“Did something happen?”

“Yes, but not as bad as what happened to you.”

Tiffany construed her friend’s vague reply as a reluctance to discuss it in front of the men. “Let’s continue this conversation elsewhere.”

“Sounds good to me.”

The pair arrived at Tiffany’s room. After bringing over a tray of freshly cut fruits along and cups of coffee with cream and sugar on the side, the waiter closed the door behind him.

Sheila raised her cup without taking a sip. “I think my father doesn’t love me,” she said with a sigh.

“Why would you say that?”

“Have your mother and brother come to look for you, Tiffany? Do you still hate them?”
