Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 68
Jaylen's POV
"Welcome back Alpha," she said after greeting my parents.
I could see that she too had been so worried about me. She looks paler than before. Just seeing the food, it made me know that I haven't had anything all the while. So now I am very hungry. "Don't worry Sally I won't die soon" I said to her.
She gave me a smile, bowed and then left. Quickly, I started eating.
"You have to forgive Allison" my mother said after a while of us looking at each other while I ate.
I didn't expect my mother to say this. She's the only one I took time to explain what I'm going through with both her and Sam to.
"Why? What she did was very wrong" I said.
I didn't even have the strength to get angry anymore. I just want to stuff my belly with food so I can have strength to find solutions to all my problems.
"I know but it's her childishness that caused it. She didn't mean to be that mean" she said.
I looked up at her with my mouth filled with food. I wondered why my father who seems to love Allison so much is not talking. Mother has never done as if she knew anything about Allison and I and now she's pleading on her behalf. I swallowed my food before I replied.
"For her to do such a thing to someone who did her no wrong, jealousy or not, she's wicked" I objected.
I was telling the truth. If we didn't come to Sam's aid, she might be dead by now and that's called childishness? I didn't believe my mother could be saying this. I thought she knew better.
"You have to let go for the sake of your bond. She's your mate Alpha" she said.
"Then I'll prefer to be mateless. I was at peace before she came. I know it's not a total peace but it was far better than this. In Fact I loved my life when I didn't have a mate" I said with a firm sorrowful voice. "Don't be like that. Mate is a good thing and a blessing to those that found one" my father said.
I know he didn't like the way I'm making Allison look like but I don't care since it's nothing but the damn truth.
"That's yours not mine. Since I found my mate I've not known peace" I argued baldly.
"C'mon son, things might be like this for now but when you own your mate it will surely be better. Trust me" he said confidently.
I know what he's trying to say and I would have believed him before now but with what is happening, I won't dare say I want to marry Allison. I hate her so much now.
"You have to forgive her for Sam's sake" my mother inserted.
Hearing her mention Sam's name calmed me down.
"Are you trying to use Sam against me?" I asked, looking at her like I'm shocked.
My mother shook her head. "I'm not that heartless son. I only said that because everyone in the pack has turned their backs against Sam and her family because they think she bewitched you" she explained. "What!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, they think she's using magic on you so that you will hate your real mate," she added.
"How could they think like that?" I asked my anger building again.
"That's because you fainted right after you saw her lying lifeless on the bed. They thought she bound your soul together" my father replied.
Narrator's POV
Gerard didn't want his son to know that it was Allison that first said that. He knew he would trace the one that spread it to her. Even his wife Cleo has already confronted him with that. She was really angry that Allison would still in the midst of what she did still go ahead to spread untrue things.
Gerard took her side that it might be that someone was eavesdropping when she was telling them. Cleo didn't buy this and wanted to go confront Allison but Gerard begged her not to complicate things more.
That's the reason he quickly talked so that his wife wouldn't mention anything about Allison saying it. He was already so angry with her.
