Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 64

Everett shot a steely look. "Either you delete those photos, or I'll delete you from existence."

Jaime shuddered. "I'll delete them! Right now. All gone!" He fumbled with his phone and then showed Everett the screen. "See? Not a single one left!"

Everett snatched the phone and opened the recently deleted folder, and there they were, lying quietly.

Jaime muttered, "When did you learn that trick?" He couldn't bluff his way out of this one!

With swift precision, Everett finished removing the photos and tossed the phone back to Jaime, heading towards his ensuite.

After a few steps, he turned, glaring at Jaime. "And for the record, whatever's between me and Selena, it's not love! Keep spreading rumors and see what happens!"

Jaime thought, "Still as stubborn as ever!"

In the bathroom, Everett lathered up with shaving cream, ready to tackle his stubble.

Jaime followed, leaning against the doorframe, "I knew something was up with you two yesterday. What happened after you left? Come on, spill. As your buddy, I'm here to help you sort it out..."

"Last night, did you take her home?" Everett wiped off the cream, dodging Jaime's question with one of his own.

"She wouldn't let me, but don't worry. Callum said he made sure she got home safe."

Everett paused, his tone deepening, "Callum took her home?"

Jaime, puzzled, "Yeah, what's the big deal?" Whether it was him or Callum, wasn't it all the same? And wasn't Callum reliable?

In the next instant, Everett hurled the towel at Jaime's face. "Get out!"

Feeling confused, Jaime scrambled out quickly, especially when faced with Everett's furious expression. As he stumbled out, he collided with someone.

Joy rubbed her forehead. "Jaime, are you blind? What's chasing you, a ghost?"

Jaime, clutching his racing heart. "Worse than a ghost!"

Joy was speechless, then glanced at the door he'd exited, "What did you do this time to rile up Everett?"

Jaime felt aggrieved and vented to Joy, "Look, Callum and I are both his friends. Selena didn't want me to take her home, so Callum took her Is that worth getting mad over? once lost a project worth millions, and Everett didn't blink. What's up With him today?"

Joy was surprised, too. She couldn't figure it out immediately but wanted more details about last night, so she suggested, "Since you ran into me, how about treating me to lunch as an apology?"

"Lunch? Sure thing! My treat." Jaime regained his playful demeanor, bowing in a mock polite gesture.

...

The next day at lunch, Selena scrolled through Twitter and saw Margot was still trending, likely fueled by some PR effort, refusing to die down.

She decided not to waste her energy on it. Those cheaters weren't worth her time anymore; her main focus now was making money!
