Mind to Bend: Chapter 26
It’s been two weeks since I brought Seraphina here, and I must admit, I had no idea it would be this blissful. I showed her the video of our session that first morning, and no surprise, my filthy girl loved it. So much so that she’s thrown herself into it this time with me as best she could.
Her mindless devotion is the most satisfying submission she could offer me, but this is only a vacation. The real Seraphina will come out when she’s ready. Once I know it’s safe for her.
I take her sweet cunt at least three times a day, but often more. I am so incensed by her smell, taste, and feel I can’t think straight. I’ve called in sick for two weeks since the first day I took online appointments. I told them I have mono, and while it’s a blatant lie, I’d call it the least of my sins. Though, I will have to come up with something else soon.
I covered my crimes, and Tim had a history of alcoholism and spousal abuse, this situation is navigable. I could make our lives work back in that tiny city if she really wanted to, but we would be better off moving on. This peaceful setup won’t work forever. Already, the signs of neglect around the house and grounds are evident; I’m going to have to bring the staff back soon.
So far, things with Seraphina are amazing, but I can tell we’re not ready for the real world yet. Between the mind-blowing sex, hypnosis sessions, and bonding we’ve been doing, she’s still crying, and, in my professional opinion, she mourns the life she’s leaving behind.
She doesn’t know Tim is dead. I had hoped to have told her the truth about everything by this point, but that hasn’t been possible yet. We can stay here as long as we want to, but I relied on us not needing to spend months to get to where she needs to be, and I also didn’t want to have to pay the millions it takes to keep the whole staff silent.
I haven’t told her everything, and part of the reason is sitting in front of my desk: Pax. He comes to this house far too often for my comfort. Our moms were identical twins, meaning we share a little more in common than your average cousins do. Genetically, we’re half-siblings.
His hair is as black as mine, and he’s artfully gelled it back like he’s going to the fucking prom. His wool suit costs a small fortune, and while I could easily afford the same, I’ve never felt the need to drip wealth.
His grin looks too similar to mine as he looks me up and down. I don’t want to know his thoughts, but Pax has never given anyone that luxury.
“You look delighted, Shane. I can’t say I’ve ever seen you in such high spirits.”
“I’m alarmed to admit you look happy too, Cousin.” I’m not always the most normal guy. I admit that my infatuation with Seraphina isn’t typical, but Pax is a little more, let’s call it, eccentric than I am, and that wicked glint in his eyes spells trouble.
“I’ve found a pretty little thing to keep my interest, just like my big cousin. A nun. And God, is she sweet.”
Pax and I are both spoiled brats. We’ve been given everything we wanted in life and taken the rest. I don’t have a leg to stand on regarding women or moral pursuits, but me being scared for the woman he’s set his sights on is saying something. Pax isn’t like me.
“An actual fucking nun, Pax, or are you speaking metaphorically?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know, Cousin?” he teases me with an even more wicked smile.
“You’re not planning on killing her, are you?” I can’t deny the genuine concern in my tone. I don’t typically give a shit about his antics, but after what I did to Tim, the last thing I need is more heat in our direction. I wouldn’t put it past Pax to try and pin it on me if he did kill someone since we look alike enough to confuse a witness. And it wouldn’t be the first time he killed someone young and pretty out of jealousy.
“Cousin, it’s not very forgiving of you to keep bringing up the one time that I accidentally–”
“Murdered your nanny?” I finish for him, thinking of the bloody mess he’d made of the nineteen-year-old girl when he was thirteen.
He scoffs at me like I’m the world’s biggest idiot. “You know Matilda had it coming.” He brushes me off like I’ve said nothing of particular importance. But that girl was not his to punish, and he knows it. “Are you planning to kill Seraphina?”
I nearly hit him for the mere suggestion, and he sees the reaction all over my face.
“I’ll take that as a no,” he laughs. “Don’t say stupid shit, Shane. I could never hurt my Snapdragon.”
I drop my head into my hands, wondering if he’s even spoken to her as well as what this poor woman of God did to garner his attention.
“Fucking Christ, Pax. Please don’t do anything so extreme you can’t dig yourself out.”
“You’re one to talk. You know Seraphina and her dead husband are all over the news, right? How long do you think it will take for her to notice?”
I give him a stern look before my gaze flicks to the door. It’s open a crack. I stand and move toward it, shutting it before returning to him.
“I know it’s going to happen sooner or later, but I was hoping for later.” I scratch my jaw in thought. “I underestimated her loyalty to that piece of shit. She won’t forgive me if she finds out too soon.”
“What will you do if she doesn’t forgive you? Will you let her go?” He gives me a wicked smile like he finds my pain tantalizing.
“No, I’ll toss your shit in the yard and take this house for us. You know it’s mine anyway, don’t you, Pax?” And it is mine. He isn’t the next in line to it either. I just don’t feel the need to live in a castle.
“Of course I remember, Cousin. No need to be a dick about it. I would never keep you from any of my properties, and some of them may interest you with your newfound proclivities. Don’t think I missed the rope.”
“Of course you wouldn’t,” I answer dryly.
“Well, I ought to be going.” He slaps his knees and stands like a midwesterner, politely dismissing me.
“You never even got to the point of this little visit.” I’m observing him because I’m confident the slippery fuck is up to something.
“Sure I did.” He winks. “Until next time.”
He walks out of my office whistling, and I take a deep breath, deciding against following him. The sooner he’s out of this house, the better.
I stay at my desk for a few minutes. In the back of my mind, I’m worrying over Seraphina and hoping Pax doesn’t do anything too terrible to this girl who’s caught his attention. But I’m not going to stop him either way. We have always agreed to look the other way regarding each other’s businesses. Neither of us has typical tastes, and the last thing we need is familial judgment on top of the legal implications of our actions.
Matilda, the nanny he killed, is the one exception. She was my girlfriend, and she fucked my thirteen-year-old cousin. According to Pax, she even told him she loved him. So yeah, she had it coming, but that’s one sore spot I’ll never completely let go.
