Chapter Chapter Four
Liam’s POV
As light streamed into the room and fell on my face I woke up to the most beautiful sight. Hailey was sleeping in my arms. She looked happy and her face held a serene glow. She smiled in her sleep and I chuckled knowing she was having a good dream.
It’s been 5 weeks since I found her in the forest in my territory. She was broken, tired of life and in a horrible state. How could someone reject her? He must have been crazy to let her go. If I had my way I would go and kill that son of a bitch who hurt her. Something about her just made me feel the urge to protect her.
Hailey and I had sort of hit it off. I asked her out and she agreed. I really liked her. I hadn’t found my mate and a part of me wished I never did because she was exactly who I wanted to spend my life with. But Hailey had made me promise that the day I found her I would happily go to her with no regrets.
I snapped out of my thoughts as a small moan escaped her mouth. God she was beautiful. I wondered what I did good to derserve her. Honestly a part of me was thankful she ran away from her pack or else I would never have met her.
“Hey sleepy head wake up.” I cooed in her ear.
She stretched and slowly opened her eyes. Wow her eyes were just gorgeous. I could just get lost there without a care in the world. She adjusted to the light and then looked at me through those beautiful long eyelashes.
“Hey Liam, good morning.” She replied with her sleepily voice.
God even with this voice she could turn me on. Damn I’m so whipped but I couldn’t complain. She really had me around her finger and she didn’t even know that.
“Get fresh and come down for breakfast okay.” I told her, stroking her smooth cheek.
“Yea okay.” She mumbled, hiding her face under the covers. I chuckled at her childishness. I pulled down the covers and she frowned making me smile even more.
I kissed her passionately and smiled when she kissed me back. Those lips so soft so full felt just so prefect against mine.
“Hey and don’t forget today’s your 1st day of school.” I reminded her before leaving the room.
I walked down and entered the living room, and as usual Ethan and Kevin were tackling each other on the ground and Tyler was playing call of duty on the PS3 with no care in the world. If they didn’t fight they just couldn’t enjoy their day. I don’t know why but inflicting pain on each other made them feel happy. Well as long they didn’t do some serious damage I was cool with it.
“Hey guys knock it off,” I playfully glared at them.
“Oh man Liam you such a buzz kill we were just playing, right Kev?” said Ethan looking down at an angry faced Kevin.
I chuckled at their childishness. These two could never learn. They pretty much act like five year olds most of the time. But I trusted them cause they can be stupid but when it came to the pack and the members safety they would die fighting.
“Where is Nate” I asked no one in particular.
“Oh he is in the kitchen testing his oh so great cooking skills.” Tyler replied without moving his eyes from the screen.
I laughed and entered the kitchen to see Nate making pancakes with a satisfied grin on his face. As I sat on the counter watching him. He looked happy cooking and I loved the smell in the room.
Nate has always been my best friend since childhood and he knew me better than I knew myself. When I was uncertain to pursue my feelings for Hailey he was the one to help me understand that loving her was not wrong and if she agreed to be with me then I had nothing to worry about. He was the only person I could depend on to help me through anything.
“I heard those suckers talking about my skills wait till they taste these. They will be begging for more!” He said, with determination. I smirked at his cockiness.
“Whatever you say brother I trust your cooking.” I said watching him flip a pancake.
“Hey good morning guys.” Hailey entered the kitchen.
“Good morning baby girl” Nate teased her.
She hugged him and playfully slapped him. She and Nate had gotten close over the past few weeks. He was like a brotherly person to her. I didn’t mind actually I thought she needed that kind of love she never had. She had this sort of strange non blood bond with him. I guess he was the brother she always dreamed of having.
“Oh what’s cooking mama wolf?” Tyler teased, as he entered along with Kevin and Ethan.
Nate glared at them while all of us burst out laughing. Tyler can always succeed in pissing Nate off. He was quite brave because Nate can really be a badass when he was angry. I guess Tyler took it as a challenge. Someday that kid is going to get his ass handed to him.
“Alright let’s just eat before Nate takes your head off Ty.” Hailey joked noticing Nate’s change of behavior.
As we sat down and spoke about our first day of school. Ethan and Kevin as usual discussed about how many chicks they were going to, as they put it, bang this year. That was because they have been players since they got their first tooth. I too was one too but now that I have something special with Hailey I don’t want to mess it up. I looked at her laughing and realised she has changed me as a person. I was no longer that guy who flirts around with every girl and behaves like a true jock. I guess this change will do me good.
Hailey was really excited but deep down I knew she was scared. I really wish I could remove this feeling of hers but it will have to heal with time.
After we finished the huge stack of pancakes we all put are plates in the dish washer.
“Ohh whatever we say, but Nate my man you cook absolutely delicious pancakes.” Ethan commented, genuinely surprised.
“Yea man all thanks Hailey here her kitchen skills have kind of helped.” Nate said holding her hand.
“N0 Nate I helped the rest was you.” she replied hugging him.
“Alright guys lets roll time to leave.” I yelled exiting the kitchen we them hot on my heels.
They all run to take there bags and then we meet at the door and headed out on to the drive way. The guys are going with Nate in his car, a cherry red Audi, His prized possession. And Hailey with me on my sexy Harley bike. What can I say it really made me look badass.
As Nate pulled out of the drive way, she put on the helmet and climbed behind me and hugged me tight. I loved this feeling and would never let it go. As I change gears,
“So Hailey ready for a new start to life?” I asked her in amusement.
“Hell yes!”
